) Before a sexual encounter if I were to take an additional dosage of Valtrex, what would be the most beneficial time frame to further inhibit transfer? A day or so? How much would be effective? 6.) Would you happen to have an accurate % of Valtrex’s reductive effects on transfer, symptomatic and asymptomatic? I’ve read that it inhibits transfer around 50%, but have seen a 95% reduction figure on Acyclovir, despite the fact they seem to be the same thing. 7.

There are several of us on here who have a similar eye complaint: seeing a bright flash, like the afterimage of a flash bulb, when we blink, and sometimes, on upgaze. This is transient symptom for most of us, lasting anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. When the "spot" in our visual field passes over a dark background, the spot appears light. When the spot passes over a light background, it appears dark.
I am trying to figure out how to minimize outbreaks (I seem to get one after every infusion) I am currently on generic valtrex which I had only been taking for outbreaks. I looked up the standard dosing for prevention of outbreaks but that doesnt seem to keep them at bay either. I cant stop getting th remicade so are there any suggestions as to what I can do?
The results of the phase 1 trial indicate that this oral medicine has excellent activity against the herpes virus. He then swabbed a sore, my finger, and a blood test. He prescribed me valtrex for life and gave me Apo-Cephalex for my finger because it was bacteria infection aswell. Now June 27th and I have an appt July 4th to discuss the results. I have talked to GirlA and GirlB both swear they are COMPLETELY std free Dr. thinks GirlA gave me herpes-location not covered by condom. I find it very confusing that both of these girls are positive they are clean.
Furthermore, I completed a year worth of daily suppressive therapy using the same dosage and while doing this faithfully for one year i had 6 outbreaks occur. I started to think that there was something else going on so my GYN tested me for HSV1 & HSV 2 in 2010 (via blood test). I tested positive for HSV2 (i dont have my igG numbers w/me as im typing, but this is what she called me to inform me of).
1- Is there any way, even very expensive to reduce the risk of spreading the virus much below than what suppressive therapy can do? For example, taking higher dosage of Valtrex? At this point, I have much less concerns about possible side effects. 2- Does washing the genital area with a proper material before a sexual activity helps in reducing the risk of spreading the virus?
This outbreak was in the perineum area and on one side. I was on and off valtrex (500mg) for the next year and a half and had one other outbreak recently (not on valtrex when this happened). This outbreak was like my primary, I had constipation, anal redness and irritation, fissures and small blisters that formed a circle around the anus, on both sides. I have had a history of lower GI problems (IBS, constipation, loose bowels and occasionally anal irritation and fissures).
I've read surpressive therapy is commonly 400 mg 2 x a day for a long time. My Dr. prescribed that same dosage for intermittent therapy 5-7 days. I've read that intermittent therapy could be 200mg 4x a day for 5-7 days. I was just curious if I should be taking more milligrams per day for better relief during a recurrence. I understand your reluctance to talk much about Rx as you aren't my Dr.
My partner of the past 6 weeks has herpes simplex 2. I have used protection except for a few times (she was asymptomatic). I have not had symptoms. I plan to test after 12-16 weeks with no more unprotected sex before then. She has no insurance and Valtrex is too expensive.
I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow and see about getting a prescription for Valtrex. My physician is clearly not an expert in STDs so I wonder if you could tell me what dosage you would recommend? Also one more question as long as I'm here. I've read on other sites about the effects of Lysine/Arginine ratios in ones diet, but I also read in your reply to another post that you don't believe Lysine has any positive effect on herpes outbreaks.
I was being treated for that when my doc made s startling discovery. I have ADD! I went in to treatment for that. I have started a new job and have been in PT, and of course, the addition of Lyrica. After being off of it for 2 days I have made the discovery, it IS the Lyrica. Not only that, but I have no headaches anymore! I Hvae weaned myself off of the Xanax I take at night and have to take no pain meds for my head! Lyrica is a Godsend! I know there are side effects but I will take them!
Oxycontin.- While awaiting the scan results I was given oxycontin for pain relief, this seemed to do the trick for 2 weeks, 10mg 2x a day, then things hurt again so up the dose went 20mg 2x a day, then 40mg 2x a day, then 80mg 2x a day and up to 120mg 2x a day, recognise the scenereo anyone??..
For years I've been having occasional episodes where small areas of my skin feel sore and tender. It tends to be on my torso somewhere, but I think I've experienced it on my upper legs and rear end as well. Right now it's an area starting at my spine below my ribcage, and wrapping around my side to the front a bit. It's a sensation that my skin is raw, as if it's been scraped or carpet-burned.
Still have some unanswered questions, but if that's what it is and Valtrex will keep it at bay, then all is good. I'm not sure what the rates are for false positives when using the Herpes Select Blood Test. I just know that if you are positive for one and your results for two are between 1.1 and under 3.
hey man. no i dont have a name for it, but all you really need to know is that it is a bacterial infection. therefore, try to create inhospitable conditions for the bacteria. keep it dry (within comfort level). maybe dab it with a little alcohol. surely there must be a name, but i'd just chalk it up to a bacterial rash... all i know is it didnt last very long...
Thanks for the suggestion of the antihistamine cream, I'll try that, although I've been fortunate enough to have th rash all over, but not real burning, tightnest or pain to speak of. Thanks again!
My husband has been having skin rashes around his eyes, raised small red bumps, for several months and just won
My arms, and only my arms, have itched for 10 years. no rashes, no psiorias, excema etc. The creams, allergery pills..my list is extensive as to what I have tried but nothing worked. ---------------The only thing that helps are ice packs. ----------------------- Recently,I had an x-ray to check if I had any nerve impingement in my cervical spine - one of the possible causes but nothing showed so I continue to search for answers.
I found a person on the MSN body odor support forum who had a bad odor for a long time and then the odor went away after being treated for H. Pylori, but then the coughing and sneezing started after that. Interesting. Another person on the MSN board said he was also treated for H. Pylori and then the coughing/sneezing started! Question: Do any of you burp a lot? Here is a thread that should be read: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=561071#i Read the replies to that link also.
