Valtrex cost without insurance

Common Questions and Answers about Valtrex cost without insurance

valtrex

Avatar m tn Acyclovir is still way cheaper but if you have insurance coverage that makes generics low cost, valtrex is, as of this month, going to be WAY cheaper for you now :) the technicality to the answer to your question is this - only valtrex has been studied for reduction in transmission to a partner. We'll never see studies with famvir or acyclovir either since both are generics and no money is to be made from doing the studies at this point.
Avatar f tn Patent comes off dec 2009 if I recall. As far as cost - if you have insurance once it's generic it usually goes on the cheaper generic copay list if you have that sort of insurance. so for instance if with your insurance you pay $30 for non-generic drugs on the approved list and $10 for generics on the approved list - you'd be paying $20 less/month for your valtrex. Typically it's 30% reduction in price when it goes generic initially for paying out of pocket. drugstore.
Avatar f tn As far as cost - without insurance, in the US, you can get acyclovir under $20/month at walmart. INsurance makes it really cheap - especially if you get 3 months at a time supply.
Avatar m tn You can get suppressive therapy with acyclovir from walmart ( and similar places ) for under $20/month even without insurance. You just need a prescription from your doctor. You can treat each ob as they occur for $4 at most places now too in the US with a prescription for acyclovir.
Avatar m tn you can get generic acyclovir for under $20/month even without insurance in the US. valtrex is just more convenient since you only have to take it once a day.
Avatar f tn The total out-of-pocket wihout insurance would be $2400 a year. With insurance it would be $1900 a year. So now the total cost of medical care with United catastrophic insurance is $6300 and uninsured out-of-pocket cost is $3600. The costs of outpatient procedures and other things are generally comparable to that and I'm not going to bother doing the math on them as I'm not familiar with the costs there.
Avatar n tn s $30/month. Once valtrex goes generic - for my own insurance it drops it down to a $10/month charge for me. Because of the way I get a discount for using the mail in pharmacy - once valtrex is generic it will mean going from a $60 fee for a 3 month supply to a $20 fee which means I"ll save $160/year if I was on valtrex.
Avatar f tn Hey guys....my birthday is on the 10th of this month and I will be 21. So next year I will be 22 and I'm still in college and of course I'm diabetic. My parents insurance over cover me until I'm 22. What's a good insurance for diabetics and how much will it cost because I can't go not being uninsured. I can barely keep up with what my insulin and strips cost now WITH insurance.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant with my first child and I had the same question about how much it would cost. I have insurance but mines was able to give me an estimate of how much a vaginal birth and c - section would cost out of pocket. Vaginal birth was about $5,000-$6,000 and C - section was about $8,000-$9,000. I am assuming this varies depending on labor. Hope this helps some.
Avatar n tn umm in the usa without insurance, n im chronic.
Avatar n tn Like any health treatment, it can be quite costly without insurance. If you are in the states, I would recommend going to Planned Parenthood. They will charge you on a sliding scale fee or for free and make things very affordable.
Avatar f tn can someone walk me through the process of getting health insurance? I don't currently have any, and I'm already seeing how expensive this pregnancy will be without it. I had my first visit yesterday and it's cost $240 out of pocket. I'm 18 on August 28th, any advice?

Avatar f tn I am just wondering if that how much you really gotta pay with or without insurance just for a freaking check up. I mean they just ask MW how I'm doing check my blood pressure check my baby's heartbeat and that's it. Oh they check if I still have the bacterial vaginosis and if I still have any other infections by peeing and a swab. Seriously? Just for all that. Avatar m tn , recently I was prescribed valcyclovir and pred forte drops. I am in the donut hole on my insurance and the cost is prohibitive. Is acyclovir 800 as effective as valcyclovir hcl or as costly?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
Avatar f tn In Canada without insurance it costed me $25, however I'm not sure how much is covered by the public health care or if it falls under prescriptions and private insurance. In pets the cost is $500-1500 depending on the length of testing so I would assume it should be somewhere around that.
748907 tn?1233163781 If you don't have health insurance you can look into one of the government trials going on. They pay for the tests and the meds. If you are denied by insurance you can call one of the two numbers above for Commitment to Care of Pegasys but then you'd have to still pay for all the tests.
Avatar m tn t going through her purse, I went in there to grab a stick of gum and notice 8 white pills. I looked up what they were and found out they were valtrex. When I confronted her about it, she said that they were prescribed to her because she had gotten Juvederm injections in her mouth at work (she works at a dermatology office). I thought that was odd but took her word for it. A few months later, she asked me to grab something out of her purse and I noticed the same pill in there again.

Avatar n tn 500 mg of Valtrex once daily should cost about $150 per month without insurance, but if he is able to remember to take medication twice daily, then acyclovir 400 mg twice a day should be fine also. Valtrex is my preference simply because it is easier to remember to take something once a day than twice a day so people comply better, but that's very individual. I'm glad he's doing better and it sounds like the two of you are doing better as a couple, yes?
1218873 tn?1300091216 There is no rhyme or reason to the US Medical system. Everyone gets charged differently for the same MRI at the same facilitiy. The same with Pharamceuticals. The Government sets the rates for Medicare reimbursement which is too low for service. The insurance companies one by one negotiate with the facilities and Drug plans every year or so, which is based loosely on Medicare.
