Common Questions and Answers about Valtrex cost walmart

valtrex

You can get suppressive therapy with acyclovir from walmart ( and similar places ) for under $20/month even without insurance. You just need a prescription from your doctor. You can treat each ob as they occur for $4 at most places now too in the US with a prescription for acyclovir.
You also can ask your doctor to fill out an application for you with gsk's bridges to access program to get valtrex free or at a reduced cost too if you are having ob's frequently and need to reduce them for comfort's sake or to reduce transmission to a partner. The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific resource as well as the patient counseling video on the same site is very helpful too. both are free!
The daily suppressive therapy are the ones that I will have to take every day for the rest of my life right? do you know how much they cost? are they expensive like the valtrex? and also. I have been this burning sensation for about 2 days. Could that be linked to the herpes virus. can how can i reduce the burning sensation I tired the epson salt bath and it works for a little while and stops.
The only thing is, the doctor in the ER gave me Valtrex to take...once my order gets here tomorrow, should I stop valtrex or can I take both for even better results?
At the begining of 2012 I had out break almost every 2 weeks, so I went back to see the Dr and ask him to give me a Valtrex prescription. So since February 2012 I toke Valtrex, and I had only 2 out break, I guess I had them cause I stoped to take it for 2 or 3 days... ( I think it is why...) During that time frame I had regular sex with 2 different person, I talk to them and none of them have been inffected. of course I never had sex during an out break.
I do take them during outbreaks, however. They are also very expensive! Do you have any suggestions on where to get lower cost meds? The free clinic would only give me acyclovir, not valtrex. They also would only give me enough for one breakout. The acyclovir also gives me diarrhea. :) Thanks, I appreciate you very much.
Thanks to both of you for our timely responses and help. I have taken quite a bit of medication (valtrex & zovirax) for about 50 days or so. Some of the Valtrex came from a pharmacy (about 20g), but most of it was ordered from an online place that doesn't require a prescription (risky and possibly fake I realize). I also took Zovirax for about 9 days or so, with no real results. Also, I did see my doctor 2 days ago and he said he didn't think that it was my HSV either.
2) can you only spread herpes from the site of where you have an outbreak with skin to skin contact? 3) discharge associated with herpes, is it contagious? 4) Ive started taking Valtrex 500mg but I am breaking them in half and it is keeping my symptoms at bay. Is that ok?? I have read and researched so much and can not find these answers, if there is any information you can enlighten me with I would greatly appreciate it.
Hardly seems worth it to me. We are looking into supressive therapy. He doesn't have health insurance so cost is also an issue. Regarding dating his contraction od hsv2, I thought I had read somewhere that if we took into consideration when he was exposed, the length of time between that and his + test and then his test #'s that may indicate how likely it was that it was a recent or pre-existing infection. It's a bit confusing.
) eek! and I never leave home without Valtrex. The Valtrex has made me dizzy and nauseous at times, but not so much now. I"ve been using it for a little over a year now. I take it nearly weekly, around the end of the week, I guess because I am run down, often I feel something coming up, and take 2grams in the am and 2grams in the pm, or vice versa. Do you think that weekly is a lot, Grace?
I already have joint problems with very bad knees, and do not need to add to that daily pain by taking something (else) that may actually cause it to worsen. The cost of valtrex WITH my insurance coverage was $50.00. That's a LOT of money on a monthly basis. The acyclovir was also $50.00 for a 5 day treatment. I understand the viral shedding probably has been going on for some time, but for the past 18 years....it's been very nice to NOT have to worry about this crap.
I used to be able to get a decent sized bottle for under $5 at walmart but I can't find it on my local walmart shelves any more. You can usually get it for under $10 at many places if you look around. Just be sure to dilute it before using it ( wet a cotton ball and put on a few drops of TTO is how most folks use it ).
If you have a prescription for acyclovir, it's only $4 to treat an ob if you fill it at walmart or a similar store. not pricey at all and all it takes is for your doc to phone you in a prescription if you don't have one already. You might want to try dermoplast spray ( the blue can for the genital area, not the red can ). It's under $10 usually at most drug stores and it's a spray on anesthetic to help with pain and itching.
0( {aprox 5months ago} and both my gp and the doctors at the std clinic recommended i come off it if i wasn't finding any relief, there was times on the medication i felt my outbrakes were worse than better, i was tested for every other std/sti and was also checked for bacterial and yeast infections everything else is clear, i went back to the doctor on Tuesday with what felt like a bigish outbreak in the front region to be told i had one red lump under the skin { which she tought could be anoth
Since you have exposed yourself and have it both on your genitals and on your face, I would highly recommend suppressive therapy with Valtrex. It is the only anti-viral on the market that helps to keep you from spreaking the virus to others, along with condoms of course. It is good that you are going to the doctor tomorrow. It is important to treat a first outbreak quickly to avoid any complications and begin suppressing the virus in your system.
But this time since I do not want to shell out the $$ for a RX because I am poor w/no insurance and the meds cost a TON! Putting abreva on the sores down there does help with the pain but I've never tired to just "tough it out" before and I want to know if that is a good idea? Has anybody else let their's clear up on there own and if so how long will it take to go away?
Funny thing is, the drug price issue was also debated on the VRTX board today, and someone posted how the cost estimate provided here could be wrong. I'd explain it, but that is over my head. Some chiropractors might know Reiki therapists. One in town here held classes in his office. I also wouldn't be surprised if accupuncturists or accupressure practitioners had guidance on the issue. re: your ex, if you only knew then.......lol It was actually a fun topic to research. My massage ther.
Yes if you don't have HSV-1 you are able to have HSV-1 transmitted to you. Valtrex won't stop the virus from taking hold. Valtrex doesn't kill the virus it prevents it from replicating really. But that doesn't mean it will prevent it from taking hold in the nerves. Which is where the virus is. Okay so let's talk Herpes. It is transmitted via skin to skin contact. Which is why knowing what you have (HSV-1 and HSV-2) is key in our discussion.
When the NP at the university clinic told me about my positive results for HSV 1 and 2, she told me to take half of a 1gm valtrex daily. Do you know if valtrex can affect my birth control (nuva ring) or my anti-depressant meds (wellbutrin)? Or my soy supplements for night sweats (damn becoming older is sometimes a bi....I mean pain). Thank you very much for all of your support.
the idiot Dr. at the women's clinic told me NOT to use it but recommended the Valtrex. Valtrex cost me $160 and was ineffective. I buy the hydrogen peroxide at Wal-Mart for $1.28/bottle. 3. For lips, use the hydrogen peroxide AND caramex (in the tin and apply it w/ a q-tip) For whatever reason, this is the combo that made them go into remission. The caramex turns white for a little while when it mixes with the hydrogen peroxide. It absorbs into your lips within 20 minutes or so.
He didn't care about my welfare, but he does care about his money, so I will seek financial reparations for the emotional damage (worried about being rejected by future partners, worried about spreading it to future partners, worried about spreadung it to other parts of my body (I already spread it to my nose without doing anything sexual whatsoever, worried about when I get pregnant and possibly spreading it to my unborn child) and the physical damage (I am on daily suppressive therapy and
You can get generic Valtrex at Walmart for $4 a month. Or with your regular prescription plan, whatever your generics typically cost. VERY affordable :-) Also, very few side effects with it as well and it is safe to take long-term. I think you need to give yourself some time here; you're assuming it will always be this way and it won't. And please, realize - as Grace and I both stated - there can be other things that are causing your symptoms.
The real reason no one is getting treated for this is all about money. It would cost a lot to treat us, and they also are worried about liability and that having us around makes their jobs a lot more difficult. We force them to go beyond their routine, beyond what has ever been expected of them. There are nasty little secrets the medical community has ignored, mainly when it comes to enviromental toxins, for many many years.
I went to see my doctor and he told me I had shingles. Which explains the red spots and the lump. He put me on Valtrex (sp?) and I've been taking it for the past 4 days. I noticed the overall itch has gotten much much worse and still have no clue why it's so bad!!
He prescribed me this medicine that I had to have made at a compound pharmacy, for a half of tube of this medicine, it cost me like $50...for a full tube $90! I am sorry to report that I can not remember the name of the medicine but I am sure if you find a decent dermatologist who knows what they are talking about, they will be able to prescribe you the same medicine. My parents couldn't afford the medicine anymore so I had to find a different remedy to help with my chapped lips.
I also have herpes simplex 1 which I've had for about 4 years and have only had 1 outbreak in that time. Out of fear of experiencing another outbreak, I take Valtrex daily which reduces and shortens the length of time if I was ever to get another. my Dr. says that it doesn't look really like an out break at all, and it certainly doesn't feel like how I remembered it to feel like. No one knows what this is and why I keep feeling like this.
I thought I was going to have a heart attack when they said that and sent me home with Valtrex to cure it. I then got a phone call a week later saying it was negative. Luckily my boyfriend and I know better and have been together long enough to wait for the real results! Anyways, I am really glad (but not glad for you) that I am not the only one going through this.
