Avatar f tn I have been taking medication for Hepatis B since 5 months ago, 0.5 mg Baraclude. On Sunday, I noticed that I had painful red bumps in the genital area. Some of the bumps were filled with water and by Monday they had bursted. It was so painful and itching. I went to see a specialist (because of the holiday season the regular doctor was not there) so I saw a Nurse Practitioner. She thought that it may not have been from shaving, but it would be from Herpes.
Avatar f tn //www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/peginterferon-alfa-2a,pegasys.html There were no interactions found in our database between Zovirax and Copegus/Ribavirin http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ribavirin,copegus.
Avatar m tn However normally you can take an opiate with a NSAID. Hydrocodone tablets usually contain acetaminophen (Tylenol). Does your hydrocodone contain apap and if so how much? Normally I would suggest you ask a pharmacist but on Christmas you will be hard pressed to find one. You may call your local ER and ask that question. When I worked in ER it was common to receive those types of questions. I assume you are in pain and I am sorry for that. Good luck and keep in touch.
Avatar m tn I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
Avatar f tn If you know your genotype and possibly the med(s) the Dr plans to use, then let us know and those who are more familiar with drug interactions may be able to give you an answer. Good luck and good treating!
Avatar n tn The night time cold medications are only combinations of either Tylenol or Ibuprofene (nsaid) and anti-histamines, which help you sleep by making you drowsey, but you can avoid the nsaid, by just taking a 25mg of Benadryl, which contains 25mg of antihistamine and a little Acetaminophen, the same ingredient of Tylenol. You can check interactions and side effects of drugs at www.drugs.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Valtrex regularly for 2 months and I have been taking 1 gram of Valtrex steadily for 2 weeks, and it is not going away. Valtrex has always worked quickly when I have had outbreaks in the past. The symptoms of this lesion (itchiness or soreness) come and go. What could be causing this? Could it be something other than herpes? Could the Valtrex be harmful to my baby? I go to the doctor again, soon, but want to be armed with all the inform. I can.
Avatar n tn I also take thyroid meds-- armour and have endometriosis so I will take Advil and Tylenol for the pain from endo. I also have Nasonex and Allegra for allergies. If anyone knows how these drugs will interact with one another please let me know. Also I had depakote but it made me feel like a zombie will Topamax do the same since it is also an anticonvulsant?
Avatar n tn I am just wondering if there are any problems with drug interactions between Metformin and OTC meds like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, Unisom, Allergy/Sinus meds, etc... Common things that a person might take for pain, sleeplessness, allergies, colds, etc?
Avatar f tn Actually, I think Tylenol and ibuprofen are mentioned -- I believe ssris warn of possible bleeding and bruising from nsaids, and both of the above are nsaids. I doubt it stops any of us from using them, but drugs are always going to present possible problems, and docs and pharmacists are pretty clueless about them. There's just too many of them, and most only happen to a minority of users, sometimes a small minority.
1654177 tn?1319838494 I am waiting to hear back from my hep C doc to check on drug interactions. Anyway, I feel like the OTC sleep aid will be hard on my liver and renal system if I take them every night for the next 5 months. Does anyone else take a sleep aid? What are your thoughts or experiences? Does Trazodone have wierd side effects too? Thanks guys and gals!

Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old female with genital HSV1, I am currently going through my initial outbreak, I have a prescription for Valtrex. I will be seeing a potential sexual partner in several weeks. What are the chances of him(he is HSV1&2 negative) catching HSV1 orally by performing oral sex on me? Chances of him catching HSV1 genital by having intercourse with me?
Avatar f tn I will be finished my Valtrex this evening but my symptoms are still there. Should I be getting a refill and continuing on Valtrex or just let it runs its course. I understand the initial breakout is the worst. If I still have to use a catheter by tomorrow the dr is sending me to a urologist. Could it be the swelling of the lymph nodes that is blocking me up in every way?
Avatar f tn I went back to the doctors and confirmed that I have HSV2 and was prescribed valtrex and Tylenol 3 to help manage the pain. I was able to finally pass stool once on the Tylenol 3s, so I'm incredibly relieved. I'm feeling optimistic that my life will go on basically as it always has been.
Avatar n tn I also take meloxicam, and tylenol is about the only thing that I know of that can be taken in conjunction with it. You still need to be careful not to take more than the prescribed dosages, though. I believe there were studies done recently that showed too many people take over the counter tylenol, believing it's safe - too much of it is hard on the liver. Most people really only need one regular strength tylenol, not two extra strength. Anyway, that got a little off topic.
Avatar n tn The best thing to do would be to call a pharmacist and ask them if there would be any drug interactions between the antibiotic and either one of the pain meds. To the best of my knowledge, there are no interactions between pain meds and antibiotics, because I have been on various pain meds for the last 10 years now and have taken many different antibiotics in that time with no problem, but not being a trained, licensed medical person I cannot TELL you to take anything.
Avatar n tn Can you advise me what to do, or what to eat to build my self up at that time so I can get through my day. I do take Valtrex, 500mg every day, and when i am feeling weak i take 2 tylenol twice a day.
Avatar f tn I stick to the natural remedies for colds and flu to avoid the high alcohol content and sedative properties of cold and flu remedies in the drug store, and some decongestants have stimulants in them that can cause anxiety.
Avatar n tn ve actually placed all the herpes antivirals in the same pregnancy category as tylenol and one can easily argue that tylenol is far more of a risk than they are even!! Why you don't see this info on the valtrex website is because they've never went to get official FDA approval for any of this info. You'll find that the majority of drugs out there aren't tested officially on pregnant women and recommended for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Harvoni is a new drug and may not have been tested in terms of interactions with herbs and supplements. You really do not want to risk failing treatment. Some herbs (and some medications) interfere with the absorption of some other medications. Some will cause reactions if taken together. Personally, I would not risk it. I would explain to the doctor (hopefully a Hepatologist) that you are having a lot of problems with pain and IBS and need something more than an aspirin.
