knee), and in half the patients all the doctor did was make an incision, and in the other half, they did the actual surgery, and the patients who only had the incision actually had a decrease in their pain - because they were convinced that surgery was going to help them, and they believed they had had the surgery.
The tingling has been going on the whole time off and on, usually when i'm standing but sometimes when i'm sitting. I was given valtrex, among other things, when I got tested 3 days after the incident. I'm awaiting results. My question is, since I'm taking Valtrex, if I do have herpes, will taking Valtrex only post-pone, lessen, or reduce the symptoms that are usually associated with an initial herpes outbreak? I've been tingling for a week and just want to know what I have.
I have oral herpes. I need surgery on my wrist. Will having oral herpes pose complications with any surgery? This discussion is related to Herpes of the throat?.
herpes and valtrex aren't issues for this type of surgery or anesthesia. It might trigger a recurrence or it might not. No harm in upping your dose a day or two before surgery or even the day or so after surgery. If you need to skip a day too because of the surgery, that's ok too. best of luck!
I just found out that I have herpes but I got my tubes tied last year and I am in a relationship with a man whos aware of my infections and he wants to have more kids. my question is if a person has herpees can they get their tubes untied will my valtrex medicine have any effects with the medicine they will give me to go to sleep???
Less then 2 days later, my penis started tingling and itching slightly on bottom of shaft and on the tip. No other symptoms as of yet, it is 8 days after incident. The tingling has been going on the whole time off and on, usually when i'm standing but sometimes when i'm sitting. Hardly any itching. I was given Valtrex, among other things, when I got tested 3 days after the incident. I'm awaiting results.
I have been taking Valtrex for Type 1 Herpes. My doctor did not tell me there was any complications or side effects of taking the two. I am on my 7 day, 5 more to go. I have not noticed any new signs on the area that has been effected. II am scheduled for back surgery in three weeks. Am I am extreme risks of anything?
Valtrex and Zovirax are both for herpes, not HPV. Suppressive drug therapy for Valtrex is used to reduce the outbreaks and transmission of herpes. The doctor has no idea what she's doing in that aspect.
He gave me a week's worth of Valtrex and told me there may be surgical options to remove the hymenal remnants and possibly steroid treatment. Because of the Valtrex, I point blank asked him if it was herpes. He said no, it's not herpes. I asked him if this was something I could give to someone else, and again he said no. I am confused; does Valtrex have off-label indications?
My doctor says it won't be a problem with the birth as long as I take a suppression treatment (valtrex, or generic for about a month prior to due date once a day). My fiancée is still extremely worried that in the 1% chance he could get the virus during birth he will, and I don't think the doctor would steer us wrong but he is worrying me now. He thinks a c section isthe right choice. Is it selfish of me to not want to do the surgery? I honestly feel everything will be okay.
Two days after I first saw them I went to the doctor and he believed them to be herpes with good certainty, but no culture was taken because the lesions where starting to already heal but started me on Valtrex 500mg 3x a day. I had IgG and IgM tests done that day (so 24, 16, 8 days after un-protected sex exposure and 12 days after the protected sex exposure), these tests came back negative. Both women went back to their doctor and had tests re-done, both negative and both stated no symptoms.
They put a estrogen patch on my right out of surgery. Prior to surgery I had a flare up with shingles, I was on 1000 mg valtrex 3x daily to get me through the surgery. A dose I have taken before when I have had a flare. Anyways after I got home from the hospitalm I had dizziness, heart rate and blood pressure elevated and my skin was burning on my back chest and arms and especially on my throat area. also had a feeling of someone having their hands on my throat.
As many of you know I had surgery 3 weeks ago and seemed to be doing great the first week after surgery. In the past when I get sunburned or stressed I often times will get a type of herpes on my left ear. Well, I guess the stress from surgery caused it to reappear and my NS sent me to an ear specialist because the herpes/shingles were in my ear canal. Luckily, it did not reach into my ear drum which could cause facial paralysis among other issues.
Nothing on my penis since it was a protected vaginal sex. I freaked out and immediately took Valtrex and put abreva cream on. The blisters dried up in 3 days and that was it. Now for the questions: 1. I am assuming that I got HSV2 from the oral and that is what caused my blisters since my HSV1 never resulted in an outbreak. Is that a correct assumption? 2.
On a final note a friend was diagnosed with a GIST stomach tumor 9cm and had surgery to remove it in February 09. It does not appear to have metastisized and his biopsy came back as a 1 on the oncology scale. He was prescribed Gleevac for one year. I do not think it would be wise for us to have sex right now as he has a compromised immune system and I have so many symptoms. Your thoughts?

Cytomegalovirus caused muscle twitching fasciculations, muscle spasms, heat and cold sensitivity, myopathy, aches and pains, spine pain, sleep disorders, major exercise intolerance, headaches, light sensitivity .... etc. This went on for at least 4 months before it began to subside. Fortunately, and with zero help from any of my doctors, I was smart enough to discover that I had a recent CMV infection, and I monitored my bloodwork as the symptoms began to improve.
(It is important to know, I was a gas perm contact lens wearer for 20 years and went without glasses for 7 days prior to surgery) Referred to cornea specialist in his office. 2 mos. post surgery, vision was 20/90 and there was a "flap" which needed laser. Procedured performed successfully, no problems. Then 1/4/10 lasix (PRK) was performed- 96 hrs. after procedure, contact lens removed - eye looked good, no problems.
I have been on Loratab 10 since 2004 , after my back surgery I stopped taking it for about a year and I can't even remember why I asked again but I did. I have also been dealing with shingles the kind the effects your face, nose and eye only on my right side.
I have been off my valtrex for about two weeks now, as I had surgery and I needed to be off it for surgery. I havent started taking yet. I have however just started taking citalopram about 4 days ago now and I want to start my valtex again. Could you tell me if they will be okay together.
Hello, My question concerns co-existing HSV-2 history and chemotherapy for breast Ca. Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with breast Ca, surgery mastectomy and beginning chemotherapy in Jan. Additionally, I have a history of HSV-2 and have had positive results on preventative therapy with valtrex, 500mg daily. Outbreak free x 6yrs. Otherwise healthy. My question, is it safe to continue preventative treatment during the course of chemotherapy?
I also have herpes simplex 1 which I've had for about 4 years and have only had 1 outbreak in that time. Out of fear of experiencing another outbreak, I take Valtrex daily which reduces and shortens the length of time if I was ever to get another. my Dr. says that it doesn't look really like an out break at all, and it certainly doesn't feel like how I remembered it to feel like. No one knows what this is and why I keep feeling like this.
I have had these symptoms for over 3 years now. and they are getting worse. I do go Aug 14 to have surgery on my sinuses to be cleared. I hope that helps but Doc. don't think so, but were trying it any ways. Blood pressure good when through a tilt table test as well, surgar and insulin good, b-12 was low but I take drops for that and b-12 ok know. Any ideas let me know. I'll keep all of you updated.

I think I was meant to wait 3months before having sex (after surgery) but I was feeling fine and late in the 2nd month I did (sometimes it’s just can’t wait) but yes I got the worst UTI ever. I was in the Northern Territory working and I Live in SYD but it started with lower back pain, then the next day pain so bad I went cold, had a headache and couldn’t walk; the next day couldn’t eat, sleep or even go to the toilet properly my stoles were green and more runny.
My partner immediately had a blood test done (I do not know what type) and she says it was negative for HSV. 5 days prior to my outbreak, she had a mouth outbreak, and I touched the open sores, and without washing touched myself near my penis, in exactly the same place I had the outbreak. She swears her blood test was negative for HSV, but again I do not know what type of test she had, however we have broken up after 3 1/2 years because of this.
Discharge got so bad that it was running out, so not clumpy. Next day it was sore to pee and got bad chills and fever and night sweats and was very very sick for 3 days and nights. But I was away from home and it was a weekend so couldn't easily get to a doc. During this time I developed some papercuts down either side of the folds on the outside of my vagina entrance and a raw spot inside. I suffered on for nearly 2 weeks until things cleared up.
I'm stopping the steroid drops as ordered and have to decide if I want eye surgery. Some leg pain persists and I want to get over one problem before initiating another. Your opinion would be appreciated.
