Never had cold sores ever. However i get dry chapped upper lip only. Red itchy. And slightly puffy. But no blisters or bumps just dry and chapped. On ocassion if i contact something i am allergic to i will react to it. Trying to figure out if this is an allergic reaction or cold sores but they never blister. They go away when i use chapstick.
I have had a white tongue coating for months it seems as though everything i eat stains my tongue, been to PCP and ENT, had allergy test, brush biopsy, given antibotics, and tongue meds to no avail, i have had various sensations over the past 6 months with my tongue, nausea, dry mouth at times, nasty taste in mouth, tingling on tip of tongue, burning sensation, also irrirated more by certain toothpaste, mouthwash, and spicy foods. Going to see dentist next week, hoping there is some relief.
ve been dealing with cold sores for 20+ years relatively successfully. Generally outbreaks would only occur during the winter when my lips were dry and often when I was on my period. I would take valtrex as soon as the tingling started and more often then not the lesions would be pretty manageable. 3 months ago I had a pretty severe outbreak concentrated around my nose (the inside and tip). This is the first time this has happened.
Exposed to HSV 1&2 two weeks ago, been on Doxycycline for 10 days and Valtrex for 5 days. About noon yesterday, my lips started to swell, inside mouth flesh too, looks red and irritated. Is this par for herpes BO?
One note, after reading online, learned pineapple could cause some issues. I did eat pineapple about 7 AM yesterday morning and it burned like crazy, never experienced that before.

Help :( For the last year and a half, I've noticed a tremendous increase in my cold sores. Since I had my first one ten years ago, I would get them twice a year like clockwork - one in the hottest month of the summer and one in the coldest month of winter. Now I'm getting them almost monthly. I take Valtrex episodically, but I'm flying through my supply of twelve refills. They've always been in the *exact* same spot, but they're not being faithful to their old locale either.
ve noticed new skin lesions popping up in my pubic area that are otherwise unexplainable. Two black lesions and various itching annular dry skin spots, where the borders are outlined such that it seems like a blister will soon form in between the borders.
I've also felt generalized malaise and fatigue. Last night, I also felt this dizziness when I would wake up in the middle of the night, almost as if I were falling out of bed. Is this a sequelae of the virus invading my nerves roots?

I was on Valtrex 1gm and taking one daily and I would take 2 when I would see the 'pimple like' things coming back until about a year ago when I switched to Acyclovir 400MG b/c its cheaper. Since then and more so probably the last 6 months, these white pimple things have gotten worse.
On 9th day from exposure, i saw a small ulcer inside the mouth (in between inner lip line and gum) and 2-3 mm away from the ulcer i saw 4-5 red dots (looked like if you draw a line of 0.5mm with a sharp pencil).
-- I met my Dermatologist, he prescribed Valcylovir for 5 days, i took the pills 2 times a day, after 2 days the red dots disappeared and on 3rd day from taking the pills the ulcer disappeared ie. today.

I am on week 3 of the cold sore on my lip and about 5 days into the ones in my mouth. I have taken Valtrex and have used nearly an entire tube of Denavir on my lips. What is a common plan B for treating persistant cold sores once Valtrex and Denavir do not produce the desired results? Thanks for all of your help.
Hello. I'm a gay male and messed up/ had an unprotected dry humping incident about 3 nights ago. Now my perianal skin has been burning/hot feeling and I have had some flu like symptoms.. No rash or blisters but does this sounds like an upcoming herpes infection? I am on Prep so HIV isn't too much of a concern esp since there wasn't penetration... Would an urgent care script me some valtrex if I voice my concern ? Awkward visit...
It's not likely to be herpes without any sores, but stop taking the Valtrex and see what happens. Herpes typically doesn't go from the genitals to the mouth as easily as it does from the mouth to the genitals.
When you say you took Valtrex before you had sex, do you mean you take it daily? In order for Valtrex to work to reduce transmission, you have to take it daily for at least 5 days prior to having sex.

So the other day I was having sex with my partner, and in the midst of it I made the mistake of using my saliva as lubrication on myself...so i licked my hand...yeah, pretty dumb mistake. Well I had just gotten a cold sore! It was in the blister stage, I guess. I had taken valtrex immediately when i got it and have been using denavir cream, so luckily it never completely formed! Yay haha.
Had protected vaginal sex with a guy who took the condom off at one point but said he didnt cum, I think he was inside me with no condom for like 2 mins. I also gave him oral with no condom and he didn't cum in my mouth but I tasted a little bit of cum at some point. I have been everywhere on the web and here and nothing seems to fit, until i did some research and saw that dry mouth is sympotmatic of diabetes. Can anyone shed some light? Its more of an inconvenience than anything else. I can still swallow, doesnt affect taste, throat isnt sore, sleeping is not a problem. I should also mention this doesnt happen everytime and its also varies in dryness. I am going to be changing from a GP to Internest within the next couple of months.
During the medicine for the reflux I start to have dry mouth and toothache . The toothache went off after 2 weeks and dry mouth is start around .My tongue started to have strange and irradiated feeling like scalding tongue and the upper wall of my mouth also have irradiated feeling . Now I start to have bloated stomach .I really don't know what the main cause of this . Is it anxiety ,reflux or other illness .
Then I started oil pulling bc I looked up dry mouth and throat and some pretty weird things came up. Like sorts of gum disease. Oil pulling helps kill and pull all the toxins out of your mouth. I'm much better now. Still a little dry but I can sleep. Then about my hip (left side) I started stretching (the best I could lol) and made sure I had lots and lots of back,belly and leg support which really helped. I am a 47 year old woman with terrible dry mouth. I have had several tests and the doctor can't find anything in the blood tests. This is miserable! Could this be a symptom of perimenopause and is there some type of medication that could help? I have tried many over the counter remedies and nothing seems to help.
