Vaginal yeast infection discharge

Common Questions and Answers about Vaginal yeast infection discharge

vagina

Avatar f tn Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection include itching in the vaginal / vulvar area, burning, soreness, pain during intercourse and/or urination, and vaginal discharge. Definite diagnosis is direct clinical examination and the doctor may take a specimen scraped from the affected area for microscopic analysis or for culture in the laboratory. A vaginal yeast infection is not considered to be a sexually transmitted infection, since Candida may be present in the normal vagina.
Avatar n tn Are you sure it is a yeast infection not BV? I thought I had yeast infections for the longest time but it was actually BV.
Avatar f tn No i haven't. I've never had any infection.
Avatar f tn You can go to your family doctor or an ob/gyn to get a swab done to see if it's yeast. It's not advised to use an OTC yeast infection treatment if you haven't had a yeast infection before, because you won't know what a yeast infection feels like for you. If it's not a yeast infection and you treat it like one, you could make things worse.
Avatar n tn Hello, You may be having a yeast infection or vaginal candidiasis, which typically causes swelling, redness, and itchiness of the vaginal area. It also causes a curd-like vaginal discharge. There may also be skin involvement wherein the skin around the vaginal area also becomes infected and become red and have rashes. Try to avoid wearing tight underwear and pants. Wear cotton underwear as much as possible and maintain proper hygiene.
Avatar f tn Antibiotics for a yeast infection are contra-indicated as they are one of the CAUSES of yeast overgrowth and candida. How did your doctor know the 2nd time that the yeast infection was transformed to bacterial vaginosis? Not sure about this. I know that BV even if treated with antibiotics can recur. Lab tests on a sample of vaginal fluid can determine if BV is present or not. You may still have an untreated yeast infection.
Avatar n tn Hello Doctor, I had yeast infection vaginal. I was treated with candid V6 tablets. for 1st three days, the dissolved tablets are seen in the discharge. Then it got developed to pink and later dark pink.
Avatar n tn As long as the discharge is not a thick white cottage-cheese like discharge (yeast infection symptom, but yeast infection has other symptoms like itching) then you are completely healthy
Avatar n tn Home treatment only works at the very first sign of the infection but once you have thick discharge and irritation only meds will help. Metrodonizole is safe for the baby.
Avatar m tn Your doctor probably ruled out yeast infection because of the green discharge/ how it looked, which leaves bacterial infections. Now because there are tons of different bacteria they can only test for so many. So it quite likely that yeah your infection is bacterial and will need an antibiotic to treat it. However, if you're really concerned about a reaction to antibiotics from your meds you should call up your pharmacist/ dr office (especially if the reaction can be dangerous).
Avatar f tn To be sure and on the safe side you should see a doctor to make sure it is a yeast infection. Unfortunately yeast infections have similar symptoms to many other things and you should be sure before treating it. Once you know there are plenty of over the counter products you can use like monistat. It's what I've used in the past. I know what you are going through and it is very uncomfortable! I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn no im not uncomfortable at all[no itching]. a yeast infection? there is a smell, but just alittle bit of odor. a yeast infection? how would i know?, i've never had one. a snear test from the drugstore, you can get those? what would that tell me? and what kind do i get?
Avatar m tn If you cannot see a doctor, Vagisil makes an over the counter screening kit which can indicate if you have a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or something more serious such as an STD in which you would need to see a doctor for. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn However, the pimples or open sores you describe would not be typical for a yeast infection. They would be more typical of a herpes infection, but there are other things that can present this way, too. If you need relief right away, consider going to an Urgent Care center. They can often do some basic testing and prescribe appropriate medication. They are less expensive and more appropriate than going to an ER.
Avatar n tn It could be but yeast infections cause you to be very itchy down there. You could try those vagisil screening kit that drug stores sell over the counter. It takes your vaginal PH and then goes by that to determine what sort of infection you MAY have. Otherwise you could just go to your OB and have a pap done and see what he/she thinks.
Avatar f tn Before i get pregnant i have yeast infection..
Avatar n tn (stomach pain, discharge, pain with sex, vaginal burning etc) Augmentin was the only antibiotic that seemed to work while i was on it but it immediately came back when off it. Being treated with metronidazole should have cleared a BV or Trichomonas infection but it didnt work.. The reason i posted here is i was thinking it must be gonnorhea or clamydia (despite negative testing) - basically the only thing i havent been treated for? But i have been tested 3 times now..
Avatar f tn is gone, but in their place has come a strong odor (there was no odor during the actuall yeast infection!). Is it simply a sign that I have not fully gotten rid of the yeast infection? Or something more serious?!?
Avatar f tn How much vaginal discharge is normal for a girl about 12? Because i think i have a lot more than im supposed to have.....and i've also noticed that my .. vagina has been really itchy lateky..
Avatar n tn how to get rid of vaginal discharge medically.its not a yeast infection or and STD. its yellow ish /white in color. what are medical ways to get rid of it?
Avatar f tn I've had a horrible time with yeast infections this time around. I've even had bacterial vaginosis at the same time. You just need to make an apt to go see the doc. They'll probably give you a cream, pill or tell you to use monostat depending on what ya have. I wouldn't self diagnose. If it is a yeast infection, you'll have nasty discharge, itching, burning and some swelling. If its the other one you will have cramping also. Its not pretty... Hope ya feel better soon.
Avatar m tn so is it ok to assume that the white discharge from vagina is from yeast infection and i should continue my yeast infection med ....
Avatar m tn Hi. I don't know what is wrong with me so please helpppp. Okay so about a week ago I douched and had sex on the same day. I had sex multiple times that night (with the same person) using condoms and washed the next day. About 3 days later, I noticed a small amount of white discharge in my underwear. Two days after noticing the discharge, it stopped but I started feeling this tingly/slight itchy feeling on my vaginal opening and probably about 3 cm into my vagina.
Avatar n tn It could be a yeast infection, or a bacterial infection! but no matter what it is go to the doctor, some infections and stds can cause you to not have children!! Does your lower belly hurt? Your lower back? fever? If you havent gone yet go! If you are not sexually active I would be pretty sure its just yeast or bacteria!
Avatar f tn Not while ive been pregnant but had a yeast infection b4 and Thats exactly what my symptoms were.
Avatar n tn As far as I know it was nothing but I would talk to your doctor tomorrow. I know I did end up having a urinary infection and a yeast infection sometime after seeing the discharge because I never told anybody. Here's what it says in my pregnancy book: If the discharge becomes a yellow-green, develops a stronger smell, or your vulva, vagina, and anal region become reddened and painful, particularly when you urinate, tell your prenatal caregivers.
Avatar n tn Sounds like you might have early signs of a yeast infection. Or you are about to ovulate. But the smell makes me lean more towards a Yeast Infection. Make an appointment with your Gyno to confirm this or buy over the counter tester and meds. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had a yeast infection before? I'm 35 weeks and I'm dealing with a yeast infection right now. I'm treating it with a cream that my doctor prescribed me, but I've been getting a pink discharge after I wipe myself, well everytime I put on the cream. Can it be the cream that's causing the pink discharge? Im so lost this is my first pregnancy and this is the first time that I've gotten a yeast infection.
