it is really nice to come across this website. I have had problems with vaginal gas only over the last several years, since I became post menopausal. I believe my mother has had similar problems and she is in her 70's. I spoke to my ob gyn about it a couple of years ago. I trust her completely for many reasons. She suggested that I douche with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water. This actually helps me and it reduces the gas for several weeks typically.
Most of the time women will have recto-vaginal ones where there is a hole between the rectum and vagina ( leakage of gas, stool or both into the vagina) or between the bladder and vagina (leakage of urine through the vagina). Unfortunately, fistulas can be difficult to diagnose and treat. When I started passing gas- pretty sure fromn my bladder- after my hysterectomy it was pretty futile trying to get help.
I occasionally have vaginal gas as well, usually accompanied by rectal gas. I have never had children. It often happens when I stand after sitting or laying down. It's happened before through sex, but that is obvious. Lately it's happened more frequently, but thankfully, I've been alone when it's occurred. I'm 37 and have always been pretty healthy (eat foods with little to no preservatives, whole foods, nothing hydroginated, etc.).
Has anyone had a vaginal Hysterectomy and how did it go for you? What was the pain like?and how did your healing process go?Mines coming up soon just wondering about others thats had this type done?
If your burps or gas smell like roten eggs (sulphur), try to avoid sulphur-containing foods, which are basically all animal foods except fish. Some vegetables and especially many sauces and salad dressings contain sulphur. Check for detailed list here: http://www.healthhype.com/sulphur-or-rotten-eggs-burps-belching-foul-smelling-gas.
I had a vaginal birth 6 months ago. Since then I have experienced persistent gas. often uncontrollable-quite embarassing. Also noticed, that I am bleeding (slightly) after a long workout or run. IS this cause for alarm?

OK, i had just now posted a response to another member and i went to get up and felt strange bubbles right above the vaginal bone but only like a 1/4 of an inch above it still in the pubic hair area...what could tha be gas bubbles or something else????
Hello, Air bubbles in vagina can be due to gas forming bacteria like clostridium infecting vagina or due to rectovaginal fistula. A vaginal swab can help in confirming the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Is it cramps? gas? Is my son just on my bladder or should I call my doctor? I don't think it's Braxton Hicks, I've had those. This is way more painful and strenuous.
He prescibed Levaquin, an antibiotic, which helped alleviate the symptoms temporarily, for both vaginal discharge of gas and bloating in the digestive tract. Unfortunately, I wasn't told that I should be replacing the "good bacteria" that also die from antibiotics by consuming yogurt. When symptoms appeared again, I was prescribed Levaquin again, and the problem disappeared temporarily. When it reappeared, I was prescribed Bactrim, also with temporarily results.
Theres always cramps and a foul stinch from my vagina. The smell is fishy at times but sometimes it actually smells like gas. There is no itching, burning, or irritation. The color of the discharge is white/sometimes yellowish. The smell is loud and I sometimes smell it through my clothing. It's so embarrassing. I don't know what it is...could you help me out?
After ascending too fast, she had blood in her nose and mouth and unusual vaginal bleeding. She did not lose consciousness and was not given oxygen. 24 hours later she was taken to the ER with head pain, back pain, dizziness, and was unable to stand. The doctor inquired about hyperbaric decompression and was told it was too late. She was treated for an ear infection and discharged. Three months later she was diagnosed post menopausal. Her ovaries had atrophied.
I would personally change my diet, move to maybe a no name brand. I know my cats tend to have more gas if I do not stick to Friskies, you might have a similar problem... Sorry...I could not help myself.
It has been like this for awhile but only recently I have started having very slight abdominal pains--it feels like gas but it is always on the right side and just kind of a dull pain (feels like the area where my ovaries are). I usually experience a little bit of pain upon beginning sexual intercourse, but it usually goes away after a little while. During my last menstrual period I noticed that the blood sometimes seemed very fresh and red (not darker and slightly clotted like it usually is).
While I am waiting for my appointment I have been doing a lot of reading on the internet about these types of fibroids and their symptoms, but I am wondering if gas can be a symptom of fibroids. I have found nothing that references this, but, for the past few years I have been suffering from a lot of gas daily. I never used to get gas no matter what I ate. I eat right and exercise everyday. I have even tried changing my diet and nothing has relieved this problem.
Dear Jane, After a fundoplication, individuakls are unable to belch. Accu, ulation on gas in th estomach or small intestine can cause the gas bloat syndrome that you describe. The offending gas may come from digested food although usually it is the result of swallowed air. the air can come from outh breathing or talking when eating. The take down of the fundoplication should have relieved your symptoms. The propulsid should also be helpful.
not to be funny but are u sure u arent passing gas or maybe he is but maybe it is a yeast infection or bacterial infection
I have been having vaginal tingling off and on for about 3 days now. It doesn't consistently itch but its wierd. Also Ive been having back aches and muscle aches, headaches and gas after eating red meat. Just wondering what that could be?

During the last year I have been presenting a constant vaginal itching, discomfort and pain. Sometimes the pain feels like there is needles or acid all over the vaginal area. I can't describe how painful it is. STD testing as well as biopsy have been performed and all the results are normal. NO STD's. I get very profuse abdominal pain especially on the left side of my abdomen and sometimes I get nausea. i have some better days than other but when is bad I can't hardly go to work.
I am having a "Lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy". I am just wondering if anyone knows how it works to remove the uterus vaginally. Do they make incisions or use laser or other tools. I know there will be stitching inside but not really sure if they make external incisions. I do have this on my list of questions for the dr but that won't be until the 23rd. Just wondering if any of you may know. Thanks...
Hi, for a year and a half i've had two vaginal ulcers right under the opening of my vagina, i've been to the GUM clinic who then reffered me to a Dermotologist who then referred me to a Gynacologist, i've been on 5 different types of cream and medication in this time and today i saw my gynacologist who told me there was nothing she could do for me. She cant perform surgery as the skin around that area is too tight and will just cause further problems.
Does anyone experience vaginal tears from just peeing, going to the bathroom, wiping yourself, or from sex? This happens frequently to me and it is very painful - I have gone to the doctor but all they give me is some ointment that does not help (steriod ointment).
We were all wondering what is causin our vaginal fissures or cuts. They are like paper cuts and are very painful. I have recently gotten a biopsy done and I don't get the results back til AUgust 1st. Just wanted to keep this going so we can all try and help eachother.
