I was just given a prescription for Vagifem and I have my Uterus. I'm using it because I feel like my skin is tearing during sex. It's very painful. I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. The drug has so many side effects that I'm somewhat worred about taking it. It's one thing that I could harm myself, but what about my spouse?
When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.
I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).
The doctor now thinks it is vaginal atrophy, and I have been given vagifem tablets. Every day for 2 weeks, followed by twice a week. I still have the vaginal discharge , except it is no longer yellowish green, it is white or clear or slightly yellowish.
Here's my question.. Has any one else had this symptom from vaginal atrophy? What works to make this go away?

I had a hysterectomy, total and done vaginally, in Oct 2009, then bladder fell 2 months after, had the cystocele repaired and then around 6 weeks later the rectum and top of vaginal vault fell. I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery!
It can really help with the burning and itching. I have also used Vagifem, which is a tiny tablet that comes with a slim applicator - no mess! When we go thru menopause those delicate areas can really take a beating and even if we take systemic estrogen those areas can still need some applied right there.
if your low on estrogen and I bet you are the cure is simple...I choose the patch its easy and no bad side effects...its a simple blood test to determine if you need hormones.
Hello again, I forgot to ask this in my prior post regarding Vagifem. I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.

I did the saliva test, and results came back that I am estrogen dominant and dhea and prog. and test very low. So they pharmacist started me on 5 mg of dhea and also a progest. cream. I am 60, in menopause @10 years, a year ago my doctor prescribed Vagifem because my vagina was dry and thin and she couldn't do a papsmear. A year later all went relatively easy. The problem is I had some pressure that she thought would be worth checking so I had a vaginal ultrasound, which wasn't comfortable for obvious reason.
