Avatar f tn After having had a hysteroscopy which found 'no serious problems', but did show some Atrophy, I've been prescribed Vagifem 25mcg pessaries. I've started using them but was concerned to find on reading the patient leaflet that these are HRT and I'm wary about the risks. I'm 61 and have been post-menopause (with no menopausal problems) for several years.
Avatar m tn I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.
Avatar n tn I've also been on Vagifem for 2 years and love the effect, however, my last ultrasound showed a build up of the lining of my uterus, so now I need an endometrial biopsy. My doctor said it could be from the Vagifem which is estrogen without progesterone. I just read the leaflet and it does say that if you have a uterus, you should discuss adding progesterone to your regimen to counteract the possibility of the vagifem causing this lining buildup.
Avatar f tn t change the color. It is not normal to have green discharge as a result of using Vagifem.
Avatar m tn I am very concerned about the cancer risks associated with Vagifem in particular due to the fact that I will be taking such a high dose (I read that menopausal women- whom this treatment is normally indicated for would only take one tablet a day for two weeks and then three tablets per week subsequently). My doctor has dismissed my concerns due to the short duration of the treatment, however I have calculated that 8 weeks of treatment with my prescribed dose of Vagifem actually equates to 4.
Avatar f tn Good morning and thank you for talking to me! I have exactly all the same situations as you and am so sick of it. I even asked my dr. to give me a hysterectomy and she said it wouldn't change a thing. WOO HOO! I am going with the Prempro and and am double rinsing all my clothes. Using less detergent and fabric softener too. Don't you just love those cotton panties? I've had BV several times and numerous yeast infections due to this thing they call Menopause.
Avatar f tn ve just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on. Also I know steroid creams can thin the skin however when I mentioned this to her she said that it's nothing to worry about and some women are On It for life.
Avatar f tn I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery! I need to do what I can to make that be it!
Avatar m tn Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more. Can only use vagifem twice a week now, but desperate to know what I can use in between the days when not using it. Replies would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn HI, I'm 27, my gynecologist put me on vagifem for vaginal dryness. My period is now a week late which is very unusual for my cycle. My boobs are achy but not sore to touch. Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??
Avatar f tn ll stop taking the Vagifem until I speak to her, but does anyone know if Vagifem is a risk factor if you have a post menopausal ovarian cyst? Thank you!
Avatar f tn You will still need to use something like Astroglide duirng intercourse to have even better results. But, things should go back to normal if your tissues get the right amount of estrogen. Also, as time goes on in this new relationship, you may be more relaxed and have more natural lubrication to help you along. I hope you find something that helps! It is frustrating to have that problem!
Avatar f tn I'm a 59 year old post menopausal woman who recently had my 4th follow-up transvaginal ultrasound because of a small ovarian cyst. The cyst is still there (but quite small), however, my latest ultrasound has caused my doctor to schedule an endometrial biopsy for me. Here are the findings: "The endometrium measures 5mm in thickness. Tiny cystic changes are noted involving the endometrium. This finding was not seen on previous examinations.
Avatar f tn What I want to know is how long before the surgery should we use the estrogen (I have both vagifem and estrace cream)? I had a hysterectomy, total and done vaginally, in Oct 2009, then bladder fell 2 months after, had the cystocele repaired and then around 6 weeks later the rectum and top of vaginal vault fell. I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery!
Avatar m tn Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
Avatar n tn The doctor now thinks it is vaginal atrophy, and I have been given vagifem tablets. Every day for 2 weeks, followed by twice a week. I still have the vaginal discharge , except it is no longer yellowish green, it is white or clear or slightly yellowish. Here's my question.. Has any one else had this symptom from vaginal atrophy? What works to make this go away?
Avatar f tn I agree with cherie, i had the same problem, go speak to GP and he will prescribe hormone treatment to help there is also a pill you can insert inside called vagifem which help to plump up the skin inside again, to get things back to normal.
Avatar f tn I am having a vaginal ultrasound and a uterine biopsy as my GP wants to know what is happening inside me, as I went to the doctors due to a bloody discharge. The pain has been in both sides and central too, In the past day or so the back pain and pelvic pain has abated a bit and is barely there but I do still have a bit of white discharge.
Avatar f tn Hello again, I forgot to ask this in my prior post regarding Vagifem. I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.
Avatar n tn Dear Healthy4now, I apologize for not being clear in my previous response. Let me try to explain again. Cervix is the lower end of uterus which is 2.5 cm long and has an internal and an external opening. Cervical stenosis is the medical term used to refer to a closed cervix. Most of the time it is the internal opening which is closed. In women with cervical stenosis (closed cervix), an instrument cannot go inside the uterus but microscopic cells in the cervix itself can be collected.
Avatar f tn Crinone vaginal gel, intramuscular progesterone, and Prometrium capsules are natural progesterone preparations which are safe to use during pregnancy. In woman with recurrent pregnancy loss heparin and baby aspirin are helpful to keep open the blood vessels in the placenta. Steroids may also be helpful since they act by inhibiting the cellular immune response. The duration of treatment depends on your particular situation.
Avatar f tn Dr is ordering blood test s and special urine test cause i keep having the burning.
Avatar f tn im 48 no menstral cycle in 2 year i have had a itch that started when i began to go threw menopause. the itch is on the lips of my virginal . i had a biopic done the doctor found nothing the only thing helps is over the counter cortazone it only helps some times.
Avatar f tn I would definitely use a liquid-based system such as Thin Prep and add an hpv test as well. I would encourage you to use a vaginal estrogen preparation such as Vagifem (if there was no contraindication) for several weeks prior to repeating the test, as this might make the test less painful, and might increase the likelihood of a normal result. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn There were cornified epithelial cells and similar small concreations as were those in my saliva. I wanted to take a urinary sample. I allowed my urine to settle and took a sample from the sediment. They were also there, the small concretions! Could I have calcification in my soft tissues? I have polyuria and partial diabetes insipidus. And many other diseses. I have lots of weird symptoms. My ionized calcium is now 1.37 (upper ref. limit 1.30).
