Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
If you were my patient, I would be tempted to give you 14 days of progesterone (Prometrium seems to have fewer side effects) and then repeat the ultrasound before doing a biopsy. If you wanted to continue Vagifem, I would consider scanning again in 3 months to see if the lining was building up again. If so, you could stop the medication, or consider a small daily dose of progesterone.

The side effects of Incurin (estradiol) are similar to the effects of any other reproductive hormone therapy and include: hair loss, swollen vulva, swollen mammary glands, and vomiting. Why don't oncologists periodically check the hormone levels of estriol, estradiol, estrone and progerterone for those of us on these drugs? Why is it that we all get the same dosage for years and the only thing checked for is CA 27-29? Wouldn't it make more sense to check the hormone levels and adjust the dosage or frequency of taking these drugs accordingly? Maybe if this were done fewer women would have to put up with so many side effects.
anyway, with this decline, you will lose the all important effects of Estradiol in this area, thus causing atrophy which in turn causes the uereter to, shall we say, get out of alignment!
I have had times since the surgery, especially times when I have messed around with my hormones when I have been in trouble again in this area. I saw an OB/GYN Urologist in the area and after a dreadful first appointment I did not go back.

I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).

Hi there, don't know much about Vagifem side effects but I do know about fibroid tumors and ovarian cysts. Was your pelvic pain on one side or the other? I know that ovarian cysts can cause bloating and back pain. By "TV" do you mean vaginal? What is your GP going to biopsy if they don't know what is in there? I had my uterus removed for several fibroid tumors and am now dealing with ovarian cysts.
