vagifem and yeast infections

m 34 and after a recent visit to a gyno she prescribed me vagifem suppositories and betnovate cream. I am not menopausol or anything. I've just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on.

I am 58 and three years post menopause. I have been using Vagifem for over a year and love it. No side effects for me or my husband. I have read a lot about it and it seems to be widely thought of as an effective remedy for vaginal dryness in a way that does not let the estrogen be absorbed by the body. I will continue to use it.

i culd use some advice i know i had a total hystrectomy 15 years ago and something should help i thnk i felt the best on the menest but i think it caused my yeast infection and all the burrning..

Hello Doctor, I have a question based on a helpful response you gave me earlier. When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).

Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.

I've heard you can take monistat for a yeast infection. But I would talk to your doctor first. Treatment for a yeast is different than bacterial, and you should make sure you don't have any other complications before starting something.

I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.

I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).

I used to get yeast infections every time I had intercourse. The only way I was able to stop this from happening was by douching with a vinegar and water rinse right after having sex. It was a major inconvenience but it definitely stopped the ongoing yeast infections. And on those occasions when I was too "lazy" or "relaxed" to get up and douche, the infection would return without fail. A vinegar douche really does help, but it is a major "mood disrupter.

You cant have vaginal sex and then go right to anal sex or vice versa. Its not healthy and it brings bacteria. The yeast infection you probably had, but had sex with your husband anyways before getting treated and then you keep passing to each other. That happened with me and BF. But...if you have no signs of a yeast infection, then your husband is the one that needs to go to the doctor to get medicine to clear it up.
