m 34 and after a recent visit to a gyno she prescribed me vagifem suppositories and betnovate cream. I am not menopausol or anything. I've just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on.

I am 58 and three years post menopause. I have been using Vagifem for over a year and love it. No side effects for me or my husband. I have read a lot about it and it seems to be widely thought of as an effective remedy for vaginal dryness in a way that does not let the estrogen be absorbed by the body. I will continue to use it.

Hello Doctor, I have a question based on a helpful response you gave me earlier. When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).

I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.

I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).

I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.

I did notice an increae in my libido, after a week of jogging, and then taking a sauna afterwards~ I took a break, as I have The Flu, and once I stopped the intense exercising, I had the decrease in libido again, so I plan to start jogging again, as soon as I feel better.

Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??

I was without estrogen for some time in this year, and then I used local estrogen (Vagifem) and Vaginal balans. My vagina and vaginal atrium and urethra are in poor condition. I have also had osteopenia previously. And I have hypercalcemia, I should not use calcium pills. Could it be possible that I have cystitis or vaginitis? I hardly have any discharge from vagina. I had my first bacterial vaginitis in January this year. I had abnormal bleeding before it.

She said I could stop the Vagifem for 3 months and have another ultrasound, however, she recommends that I have the biopsy now. Can you please explain what "Adenomyosis versus hyperplastic changes" means? And would you suggest a biopsy based on these results? My doctor told me that I don't have to stop taking the Vagifem, however, I don't feel comfortable taking it now. Do you feel I should discontinue? Thank you for your assistance.

i had a total hystrectomy in 1995 and quit hormones 8 yeasr ago its been rough,back in july dr stated me on menest but then i went to another dr and she did blood hormones and as of 2 weeks ago i was put on estradiol 1 mg was already on vagifem she just added 0.25 mg of divigel 3 days ago and now my breats are so sore and bad headache..

I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.

Yes I've had yellow green discharge for 4 months - no bacteria showing up on tests - now seeing a specialist who has put me on vagifem same dose as you. I'm not convinced this will work and am desperate to get rid of the discharge - any suggestions?

I am 54 yrs. of age and have been period free for 8 yrs. Within the last year and a half I have been seeking treatment for horrible burning inside and out of the vaginal area. My doctor has done many tests and has said that I have vaginal atrophy (sp) and told me to use replens. She also recommended Prempro as I still have a uterus. I no longer have health insurance and can't afford the prempro and the replens DOESN"T work.

Has anyone else suffered the dreaded Vaginal Atrophy. Have been prescribed Vagifem which is helping a little. Main problem for me is burning after urination. Don't like using the prescribed betnovate cream too often as this burns. Now trying the yes products. Some days I seem much better and then the next day it returns with avengeance. Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more.

What I want to know is how long before the surgery should we use the estrogen (I have both vagifem and estrace cream)? I had a hysterectomy, total and done vaginally, in Oct 2009, then bladder fell 2 months after, had the cystocele repaired and then around 6 weeks later the rectum and top of vaginal vault fell. I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery!

1st 10 days using Vagifem no side effects just discharge. Started 3rd week and have cramps and then diarrhea (sometimes). Does it get better?

I personally prefer Vagifem because it is less messy and each comes in its own applicator. You will still need to use something like Astroglide duirng intercourse to have even better results. But, things should go back to normal if your tissues get the right amount of estrogen. Also, as time goes on in this new relationship, you may be more relaxed and have more natural lubrication to help you along. I hope you find something that helps! It is frustrating to have that problem!

I am 38 years old and married. I was perfectly normal and having high libido with no problems of erection. I have been using A-Z multivitamin tablets (either centrum or boots) along with one or two fish oil capsules for the last 3 years. Until my ablation 7 months ago, I had an AVRT very closely related to WPW. Mine was Circus Motion Tachycardia and I had it nearly all of my life, and I'm now 60. In my case, it in no way affected my libido. AVRT like Wolff Parkinson White is an electrical condition, and should not affect libido. I would look atnthe medication used to control the tachycardia. They can and often do supress the libido. How deep of an investigation have you done on your condition?

I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more. Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement. Have you tried vaginal estrogen cream (Estrace). It can really help with the burning and itching. I have also used Vagifem, which is a tiny tablet that comes with a slim applicator - no mess! When we go thru menopause those delicate areas can really take a beating and even if we take systemic estrogen those areas can still need some applied right there.

I had surgery in July and another to recluse the wound in August. My libido has went down since then. Now every time I have an orgasm is causes my nerves to jump in my left foot and start to tingle. Then about 10-15 minutes after the orgasm my foot starts to hurt. Is this normal ?
