This continued for a while the doctor wasnt concerned and said it should sort itself out, it didnt recently my uvula has swollen and it is touching the back of my tongue.
I’m 37 yr old Female overweight (obese) for the past 2 years I randomly wake up with a very swollen uvula. Snoring is possible doctors check I don’t have sleep apnea. I hate this more than anything. I want to know how to not let it happen
If I go from obese to closer to my weight will it ease up ?
I try to stay hydrated.
It seems to happen more it I’m overtired
Any help just any help I would be so grateful
Swelling goes down after a few hours upon waking.
I have read so many forums on home remedies most say wait it out, until I had the uvula swell I was fine with that. Most of the forums that talk about the uvula swelling contribute it to drinking alcholol, but I dont drink. They also say see a DR. if it lasts more than 2 days, but reply that the DR. just gave them prednisone which I can get.
Please someone help, Going crazy worring about it all..
I had my tonsils removed over 2 weeks ago and well my uvula is still swollen and I am not able to eat much.
I wish I can fast forward 2 months in the future to get the swelling down.
I so understand your position though. What I have heard from others is that it can take months for the uvula to get back into proper psition.

The doctor that diagnosed me was very concerned about the size of my tonsils, he told me that my uvula was deviated and he was worried about them but since he was from a low cost clinic he knew I couldnt afford to go the ER. So, treated me with strep and the swelling went way down. Every since then, I go through days where I still have trouble with the swelling coming back. The problem is that when I search for symptoms everywhere says that sore throat goes along with that symptom.
m lying on my back because it just sits on my tongue and annoys me, but I slept on my side most of the night and that seemed to help both my uvula and the swelling/incision site area. The rest of my throat seems fine, just damaged uvula which is annoying more than painful - I can still eat/drink ok, but if it's still a problem on Monday I will call my doctor to see if she recommends anything.
I had an endoscopy done on Friday and my uvula was really swollen Friday night and Saturday morning. It was purple. It is now Sunday and it is still really swollen, but not nearly as bad as it was. It is no longer purple, but has turned white. I have gargled with salt water today. Any other suggestions for bringing the swelling down and why it is white?
Last week on monday I felt light headed and dizzy ended up with a fever for 2 days. That thursday I felt I had strep, with the fever and sore throat seeming so familiar; I went to my Dr. To check it out. No strep, but the next day my uvula swelled up so bad I felt I couldn't breathe. Spent the whole day gargling salt, eating garlic clothes, spoons of honey and tumeric. Didn't sleep till 6 am Saturday when I couldn't stand being up anymore.
I’m on my 10th day post op but the uvula has been about half inch off from the center amd swollen from day 1 and it’s remained that way ever since despite all the scabs having fallen off already and otherwise little pain by now. I also saw small scab in the base of the uvula indicating that they have cut into it during surgery, perhaps accidentally. I can’t swallow properly due to the deviation and swelling.
Back in May I had an extremely sore throat with white spots on my tonsils thought it would go away on its own ended up with my uvula swelling so bad I thought I was going to choke on it. I went to the hospital immediately they told me I had uvulitis gave me prednisone and told me to take benadryl. I did the whole 5 days of prednisone the sore throat went away and the uvula went down a bit.
What bugs me is that I get a swollen uvula a few hours later. It gets big and makes it a bit hard to swollow. Usually this happens when I drink quite a bit of alcohol beforehand, this might be more key to this than the actual oral sex. Maybe this is because of dehydration? Anyways, this makes a pleasant experience a little bit less enjoyable. I would really like to know what causes the swelling, and how to avoid it.
I'm pretty sure it's a swollen uvula, not phlegm attached to it, so I won't be pulling at it. Any ways to help it swell down to regular size?
I have bumps in my throat behind my uvula, my uvula seems a little red as does the palate around it. Both sides of my throat by the uvula are swollen and I don't know if my tonsils are swollen or not but it looks as if so. There is a bit of white patches on both sides of throat by uvula. Also my tongue is always dry! I don't know exactly what's wrong. Anyone have any idea?
Recently, ive been having a lot of health struggles for about almost 2 months. It started out with me lying in bed, in the beginning of June, I remember lying there and feeling a lump in my throat, like I could swallow. I rushed to the ER, they said it was my uvula and that it was swollen (it really wasn't) and sent me off with some medicine. I went to the ER 3 days after that, and they tested me and also claimed it was my "swollen uvula".
3 days ago in the afternoon I noticed a slight sore throat on the right side. I didn't think much of it and took a nap. When I woke up, it was a bit worse. The next day, it was even a little worse. It has stayed about the same since then. It is only on the right side, it only hurts when I swallow and it often feels like there is something caught in my throat. I looked in the mirror and I see what looks almost like a "skin tag" on the right side of my upper throat, next to my uvula.
I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks, just the last 7 days little pimple on my tounge have appeared (lie bumps) and my uvula looks like it has burst blood vessles and is swollen.
m afraid that it might be some growth on her tong, or something got swollen. But the doctor said that her tonsils looked fine. Did anyone hear about something like that before? Do you know of any similar cases?

I am a 24 yr old F who has been experiencing swelling of my left tonsil with daily tonsilith formation for 8 months now. My right tonsil has also recently started swelling. Although now currently monogamous (for many years now), I wasnt in my younger years and I am concerned that I have developed tonsillar cancer due to high risk strain of HPV.
I went to the ER and the triage nurse looked at my throat and said that my tonsils and uvula (the little punching bag) are really swollen and red, but no pus, and no fever, but i felt warm to the tough. She kinda gave me the impression that something was really wrong. Anyway I saw the doc a few hours later and he said tonsilitis (of course) and gave me a huge shot in my leg of penincillin (HUGE!!!) He refered me to a ENT and said I should have them out.
I went to the doctors today to get tested for herpes. I have a sore throat, plus 2 bumps on my uvula. Plus a little bit swollen on my lymph nodes. I asked the doctor if that's what it was, was herpes? She said no she didn't see any lesions. But does 2 bumps on the uvula & a sore throat sound like a symtom? After about 3-4 days of being together with a lady i got a throat problem, I did not have a sore throat, it was more like swelling around neck, neck glands were swollen and I had a really bad case of swollen uvula and some redness around it with some small white patches. I am typically non-drinker and do not smoke. But on holidays, I did have around 5-7 tonics each night going out.
My vulva has been swollen for the past month or so. Sometimes it's so painful I can barely walk. I think it's because baby is pretty low. God bless!
