swollen

Avatar n tn Fisrt day was fever and sweating with acheing joints and some vomiting. Days 2-10 swollen tonsils with white patches (extremely painful). Now my uvula is swollen and sitting on my tounge. Ok so heres what I have been using to combat this. Gargle with salt water, Drink warm water with honey and lemon, Tylenol for pain (actually works for once), had some fluticasone propionate for nasal congestion (stopped working so switched to afrin) and zinc cough drops.
Avatar f tn The roof of my mouth is white, and the uvula is swollen and almost touching the back of my tongue. I feel like I should keep swallowing. Never happened before. No new foods, meds, etc.
Avatar f tn I have bumps in my throat behind my uvula, my uvula seems a little red as does the palate around it. Both sides of my throat by the uvula are swollen and I don't know if my tonsils are swollen or not but it looks as if so. There is a bit of white patches on both sides of throat by uvula. Also my tongue is always dry! I don't know exactly what's wrong. Anyone have any idea?
Avatar n tn I had an endoscopy done on Friday and my uvula was really swollen Friday night and Saturday morning. It was purple. It is now Sunday and it is still really swollen, but not nearly as bad as it was. It is no longer purple, but has turned white. I have gargled with salt water today. Any other suggestions for bringing the swelling down and why it is white?
Avatar f tn Now I feel my tonsils and tongue are swollen as well and although I have no white on my tonsils or uvula my tongue has white spots on and right underneath it. I do suffer from seasonal allergies although they usually just give me hives, and I currently have a post nasal drip. Has anyone ever had anything similar? Any ideas on what I have or when this uvula will go back to normal?
Avatar n tn I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks, just the last 7 days little pimple on my tounge have appeared (lie bumps) and my uvula looks like it has burst blood vessles and is swollen.
Avatar m tn After 7 days, I noticed 2 white spots on my uvula and in the past 3 days, my uvula has become enlarged, touching my tongue. Also, I have experienced some tightness in my throat, some slight difficulty breathing, feeling lethargic and have had some feelings of stiffness in my joints. I'm usually in perfect health. Prior to this encounter, the last time I had any sexual contact was 3 years ago.
Avatar m tn The uvula was back to a pretty central position somewhere around week 3 but the skin you mention the soft palade that connects the uvula base with the side has remained slightly assymetric and a bit lower. The uvula itself has also stopped shrinking in the past 2 weeks and its still pretty big Id say.
Avatar m tn The doctor that diagnosed me was very concerned about the size of my tonsils, he told me that my uvula was deviated and he was worried about them but since he was from a low cost clinic he knew I couldnt afford to go the ER. So, treated me with strep and the swelling went way down. Every since then, I go through days where I still have trouble with the swelling coming back. The problem is that when I search for symptoms everywhere says that sore throat goes along with that symptom.
Avatar m tn This continued for a while the doctor wasnt concerned and said it should sort itself out, it didnt recently my uvula has swollen and it is touching the back of my tongue.
Avatar m tn You may wish to see an ENT doctor about your swollen uvula, since any kind of swelling in your throat can aggravate upper airway obstruction.
Avatar m tn I'm a male who perform oral sex on a male on 3/24 and another male on 4/5. Both were brief without any ejaculation. Both stated they were STD free, but were anonymous encounters. I had a STD screen for all testable stds on 4/11 that were negative. I also took Amoxicillin 500 mg BID 7 days for tonsillitis. I didn't have a sore throat, but had white spots in the throat. On 4/18 I had a tonsillectomy and adenoids removed. The biopsy came back negative, but showed chronic infection.

Avatar n tn Hi Miniplus, I am a 27 year old female from Ireland, I recently had a uvulaectomy due to two cysts that were found on my uvula. The uvula was getting swollen at night time and I would wake up in the morning unable to breath and would gag. My GP referred me to an ENT Specialist and they decided to remove my uvula altogether.
Avatar f tn I thought my throat was just dry or sore from the acidity from my stomach, but I looked at it in the mirror anyway. My left tonsil is very swollen along with my lymph nodes and the back of my throat. I also noticed these white head (as in pimple) looking things right behind my uvula. Is this tonsilitis? Or am I just overreacting? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I had my tonsils removed over 2 weeks ago and well my uvula is still swollen and I am not able to eat much. I wish I can fast forward 2 months in the future to get the swelling down. I so understand your position though. What I have heard from others is that it can take months for the uvula to get back into proper psition. Hang in there. All the best. If you are still uncertain then maybe see the ENT who did the surgery to explain things.
Avatar f tn They were just slightly irritating, so i was looking at them in the mirror and i noticed that the back of my throat is pretty red and it looks like there are small bumps. Also it looks like my uvula is discolored (an almost yellowish spot). my throat doesnt really hurt at all just a slight irritation. I fear it may get worse. Anyone have any ideas of the cause?
Avatar f tn I woke up this morning and my uvula is swollen? Its never happened to me before? Should I call the emergency line or wait until tomorrow?
Avatar m tn Recently, ive been having a lot of health struggles for about almost 2 months. It started out with me lying in bed, in the beginning of June, I remember lying there and feeling a lump in my throat, like I could swallow. I rushed to the ER, they said it was my uvula and that it was swollen (it really wasn't) and sent me off with some medicine. I went to the ER 3 days after that, and they tested me and also claimed it was my "swollen uvula".
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors today to get tested for herpes. I have a sore throat, plus 2 bumps on my uvula. Plus a little bit swollen on my lymph nodes. I asked the doctor if that's what it was, was herpes? She said no she didn't see any lesions. But does 2 bumps on the uvula & a sore throat sound like a symtom? I'm freaking out & im scared. :( any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn ve looked at his throat and everything looks good. Nothing swollen. Could this just be from his uvula? Should I take him to an ENT? Our doctor just brushed it off last time I mentioned it. I really don't think it's good for his throat to be coughing and clearing it constantly for so long. He doesn't have a sore throat either but I figure if he keeps it up he will before long. It's starting to really drive the rest of us nuts too. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn On 10/4/12 I had unprotected sex with a woman, on 10/14/12 I woke up and my uvula was swollen had a white tip on it and the glands behind my bottom jaw (BOTH GLANDS) were white. I went to the doctor and he said it was Pharyngitis, (Although I did not have a sore throat, my throat was just swollen) he prescribed me zpack and some steroid to get rid of the inflamation, (Keep in mind I never had a fever, chills, rash, Lymph Node swelling etc.
Avatar f tn Thrush is all around the mouth. Especially the tonsil, uvula, and your cheeks. A white coating on the tongue means nothing and is extremely common. Drinking alcohol will make it worse.
