The roof of my mouth is white, and the uvula is swollen and almost touching the back of my tongue. I feel like I should keep swallowing. Never happened before. No new foods, meds, etc.
You may wish to see an ENT doctor about your swollen uvula, since any kind of swelling in your throat can aggravate upper airway obstruction.
Days 2-10 swollen tonsils with white patches (extremely painful). Now my uvula is swollen and sitting on my tounge. Ok so heres what I have been using to combat this. Gargle with salt water, Drink warm water with honey and lemon, Tylenol for pain (actually works for once), had some fluticasone propionate for nasal congestion (stopped working so switched to afrin) and zinc cough drops. Ok heres my question, at what time should I be worried and go see a doctor.
The area of the throat directly behind the uvula and the right tonsillar pillar was red and sore. Slowly, over the past few days, the uvula has shortened, but still rests on my tongue. The lower third of it is now grayish-white. The area behind the uvula is looking better and so is the tonsillar pillar, but my posterior mouth is so sore! It seems to be sore above my soft palate, posterior tongue, uvula, and throat. In looking at my mouth, it looks mildly red, not too remarkable.
I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks, just the last 7 days little pimple on my tounge have appeared (lie bumps) and my uvula looks like it has burst blood vessles and is swollen.
I didn't have any high fever, And my throat wasn't sore in the traditional since(pain when swallowing or eating) but the irritation from my uvula touching my tongue is driving me crazy. 2 months later and I am still not completely over the mono. I visited my ENT today, and he told me the only thing he could do for my long uvula is to have it surgically shortened/removed. Also he said that at the time my uvula did not appear swollen BUT that it was really long. The actual QUESTIONS would be.
My uvulas was longer than normal and also got periodicaly swollen also my left side of my throat has been consistently sore as well. The doctor examined me and said that I should have my uvula shortened. So I did it now 30 days later when I swallow it feels like food is getting caught or scar tissue is making it feel rough when I do swallow. It looks fine but it doesn’t feel fine when I swallow.
I had an endoscopy done on Friday and my uvula was really swollen Friday night and Saturday morning. It was purple. It is now Sunday and it is still really swollen, but not nearly as bad as it was. It is no longer purple, but has turned white. I have gargled with salt water today. Any other suggestions for bringing the swelling down and why it is white?
I have a lump on my uvula and a swollen right tonsil which neither are sore. For the past few weeks i have had a slight sore throat on and off.
The problem is that when I search for symptoms everywhere says that sore throat goes along with that symptom. I do not have a sore throat. It has gotten bad enough now that my throat feels closed off and when you look inside my mouth you can clearly see there is not much space between tonsils and my uvula is rubbing one of them.THe tonsils appear to be slighty red but other than that they do not appear to have spots or white anything on them.

I read that it could be caused by poor oral hygiene but we brush her teeth and tongue, make sure as he glosses and uses mouth wash. She was plagued with strep throat a lot when she was younger and had tonsolitist a few times as well as many ear infection that required tubes put in. What about all your kids?
I felt like my throat was closing up and I could feel my uvula sitting on my tongue. And after looking in the mirror I could clearly see that my uvula was very red and swollen. And the rest of my throat very red too. I havent noticed any white spots on the back of my throat. I am 11weeks pregnant and am worried that i maybe wasting my gps time by going down to the surgery because he may not be able to give me any medication which would help me while im pregnant.
My throat is still sore, tounsils and uvula are still quite swollen and red with a few specs of white. Swelling in neck has seemed to go down, but is still tender. I still have a slight radiating earache, and cough is still persistant especially while laying down. I've also noticed as of last night that I had a dull sensation as if something was stuck in the right side of my throat, but not as prevelant today.
Thyroid may cause difficulty in swallowing if the thyroid is already affecting the esophagus and this will eventually led to a sore throat. Do keep us posted with your next appointment. Take care and best regards.
Last week on monday I felt light headed and dizzy ended up with a fever for 2 days. That thursday I felt I had strep, with the fever and sore throat seeming so familiar; I went to my Dr. To check it out. No strep, but the next day my uvula swelled up so bad I felt I couldn't breathe. Spent the whole day gargling salt, eating garlic clothes, spoons of honey and tumeric. Didn't sleep till 6 am Saturday when I couldn't stand being up anymore.

I have had bouts of thrush (albeit, was on a number of antibiotics last year) and the last being last month. Just before that, had a UTI and my kidney hurt like heck. On top of the sore throat, my lower back is hurting and just hoping that is muscles and not some infection creeping up. Please...no!!
Every now and then I will wake up and have a sore throat due to my uvula being swollen. I have difficulty swallowing and trying to producing anything is painful and lasts longer than the swallowing problem. Admittedly, I am a smoker and this only occurs first thing on rare mornings and lasts between 1-2 hours. Anyone with a similar problem or heard of the like? I have no tonsils but I have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Thanks to any and all replies.
He does have what appears to me to be an elongated uvula (drags the back of his tongue) but he says it feels like he has something in the back of his throat that needs coughed up. Nothing ever does come up and he has no nasal drip. I've looked at his throat and everything looks good. Nothing swollen. Could this just be from his uvula? Should I take him to an ENT? Our doctor just brushed it off last time I mentioned it.
lol Unfortunately i woke up this morning with my uvula literally so swollen and elongated that it is laying on the back of my tongue and it is now covered in white plaque. HORRIBLE, have you ever had a sensation trigger your brain to keep making you swallow and swallow trying to get down your own body part. EW. and half of my throat was so swollen that my throat had shrunk visibly by half!! immediately called doc and said, "problem!
My uvula has undergone changes as well, feeling largely hollow but with a small spherical bump in the very end of it. My throat is often sore and just feels generally wrong, and my tonsils look red and irritated as well (I don't have tonsillitis). My right buttock and leg have been bothering me as well, with no attributable exercise or strain. Last week my doctor gave me 7 days of keflex for the lymph node - no effect.
i'm sorry it wasn't awful looking but clearly some redness streaking and irritated. I know it was the cause of my sore throat at that time. My other sore throats really didn't look that bad in comparison.
It all started back to 8 weeks ago when I engaged in sex (oral and vaginal) with a woman. 3 weeks later I began having a sore throat that I originally attributed to allergies. Then it became very severe for a week and then got some what better. I've also experienced a white tongue for at least 3 of the weeks. There's no sores on my tongue, it's just got this white layer that almost seems like it's in my tongue. I can temporarily make it better with my electric tooth brush.
I am also having problems with my throat and have lumps on my uvula as well as pain further back and feeling of having a swollen tongue. I was wondering if anyone ever got a definate diagnosis? I too suffer from anxiety which I am doing something about and am four weeks into CBT to tackle my health anxiety problem. Ive got myself convinced that Ive got the start of throat cancer and the ongoing lumpy feeling when I swallow doesnt help to alleviate my fears.
Yesterday, which was a week after the liason, my throat seems less irritated, but I shined a flashlight into my throat and I noticed that my uvula is quite swollen, my tonsils are swollen, and there are two white patches that look like dashes on my left tonsil. The rest of the throat has a slightly whitish-yellowish patchy color and my tongue is quite whitish in the back of the throat.
In the last 4 weeks I have noticed my right throat gland swollen, consistently, and in the last 3 days my right tonsil tingling and swollen too. In my throat, when I swallow food, it goes more to the left side now, as I belive my whole right side feels swollen. Left side feels great / normal. Just the last 2 days, my right ear has a consistent / intermittent ring (very mild) but it concerns me if it is connected.
