uti infection complications

I have a uti infection. I'm worried it's going to reach my baby. Can it harm her?

I had a uti and bacterial infection got two antibiotics for that. When I was done with that I got another uti and a yeast infection got two more antibiotics.

Do i need to go to the doc for a uti? Been drinking cranberry juice but its gettimg worse and more painful...

To top it all off, I now have a UTI. I am never ill. This recent ill health, also includes a chronic sinus infection. Then last weekend I had an allergic reaction to one of my medications. It just doesn't rain, it pours! I had a CT in the ER, which told me about the ovarian cyst, followed by an US last week. My question is, what should I be doing to ensure I return to my old self. I am soon to be 52 and don't think having my period every two weeks is much fun!

Hi ladies! Just wondering if any of you have had a urinary tract infection positive for Strep B? My midwife called today and started me on an antibiotic and said I would have to be treated again when I was in labor bec of risks to the baby. Have any of you had this And experienced any complications? I'm a nervous wreck. Thank you!

I am 36 weeks and 5 days. I have had lots of complications. I have been hospitalized 8 times (staying 20+ nights) since week 22. For dehydration, high blood pressure, uti & kidney infections, fever of 103.3, bleeding, going into labor twice and now my baby is measuring 3 1/2 weeks behind at 4lbs 4oz last wednesday.plus the amniotic fluid is low and the placenta is aging faster than the baby causing calcium build up. They are planning on inducing me when I am 37 weeks.

I think it is a good idea to call your doctor and get a urine test to see if you do have an infection. I got a UTI following my surgery and it felt similar to what you are describing. You will need antibiotics if you do have an infection. Any OTC remedies can help with the symptoms but won't cure the infection. Try to drink plenty of water and cranberry juice until you can get into the doctor and find the cause.

Its better to take them then not. Uti can cause complications in pregnancy.. i took so many antibiotics for utis & differnt things during my pregnancy & my baby is good.

take a test, if you are pregnant and have an infection you NEED to be treated ASAP! Urinary tract infections if not treated can get sever and cause issues/complications. Either way, you should be tested for a UTI and get it treated.

I would get the antibiotics from my dr. A uti can turn into a kidney infection literally in a flash and those can become a bloodstream infection that can terminate your pregnancy. I didnt know that til one hit me out of the blue.

I would strongly advise you to see a doctor because a UTI can cause more serious complications (I just had one that turned into a kidney infection and was hospitalized last week) and you will be able to talk to them about regulating your cycle.

With a UTI you stand a better chance at treating it than not because a UTI could lead to some pretty serious complications. But again, call the pharmacist. If this particular drug isn't safe then you can at least ask for a recommendation for one that is.

Post catheter pain can be of several causes. One common cause is a urinary tract infection (or UTI). This can be diagnosed by a urinalysis and culture. One complication from a UTI in males is epidiymitis, which is inflammation/infection in the epididymis of the testes. This can lead to one sided scrotal pain and swelling. I would recommend that you follow up with your primary care physician. You may need a referral to a urologist and perhaps an ultrasound of the right scrotum.

Can I be induced since I am technically full term and I have a UTI? I am taking medication for it but the pains are unbearable that I get in my back and lower stomach. The pains wake me up in the middle of the night and I'm unable to move bringing me to tears. L& D confirmed they were not labor contractions but the pain was from the infection. My next appointment I will be 39+4. Do you think my doctor will induce me if my pains don't decrease or if the infection is still there?

Since this time I tested positive for a UTI and had to go on antibiotics, I had a horrible sinus infection and had to take antibiotics, and then yet another UTI...back on the meds! My OB keeps telling me that this is fine because all of the meds that were prescribed are safe during pregnancy (all category B)....but I hate doing this! Has anyone else experienced this?? Plus....i have this feeling that I may have to take the terazol again....I am well into my second trimester so I think its ok...

I posted on here earlier this week that I was having burning after urination but doc tested and no uti well it got worse and I ended up back at the doc and turns out it is a uti.. She prescribed me macrobid... Has anyone else taken this? Any complications with it?

I am 18 and I have been sexually active since I was 15. Last year I started having problems that pointed towards UTI, Yeast infection, Chlahmidya, and gonorrhea. I've kept it from my mom untill just recently. I have an appointment w/ the gyn soon and i just want to know what to expect. It started with a reddish ring around my clitorous which was raw at first, and the next day it burned when i urinated. after, I felt the urge to urine but nothing came.

Ash utis can turn into kidney infection that causes preterm labor and complications. Us not a waste of time. I went to the er for the same thing.

Can someone please help me.. i think i have a yeast infection and/or uti... i have pain at the entrance of my vag. Very painful to touch. Swelling and allot of discharge(white/creamy yellow) with a slight odor... I'm also having a hard time peeing... can only pee a lil atta time and it slightly hurts... is Be en so long since I've heard either idk... I think your doctor probably said leukocytes, which are white blood cells indicating an infection. Cranberry juice can help but it will not cure the infection.

They took urine and blood and did a heartbeat, which they found. The urine test came back as severe UTI. They gave me amox for the infection and sent me home. By 12am i was convinced these were contraction pains. They got more intense and more frequent with every passing hour. I even called back up to e.r around 1 am because of the pain and she insisted it was from the UTI and didnt see labor at 13 weeks being possible. By 3:30 the pain became so intense and eventually my water broke.

So last week I found out I had a UTI, and was put on antibiotics to get rid of it. I was to take it 4 times a day for 5 days, and I did religiously! I didn't have sex at all (I don't know if that interferes with getting rid of an infection so I didn't risk it), and I'm STILL having burning when I pee. It hasn't went away at all since I started taking the pills or after. I've had like 4 infections during my pregnancy and they don't go awayyyyy!

t feel safe taking them I did my research but some woman at its fine others said it gave them some problems in just curious on what some of you did. That is if you guys have had a Uti infection before?
