Uterus contractions during early pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Uterus contractions during early pregnancy

contractions

Avatar f tn She may not be having contractions, her uterus may be feeling as if she is cramping and contracting due to a growing uterus. Stretching of the uterus can cause period like cramps. If truly concerned she could go to the Dr to make sure that there is a viable pregnancy and make sure that baby is doing good and there is a good heartbeat. If she is bleeding heavily she should go to the Dr immediately. Good Luck and best wishes to both of you.
Avatar f tn t dilating so and not dehydrating so sent her home from ER and told her that some women have contractions thru much of their pregnancy. Has anyone ever heard of that...contractions thru much of pregnancy. Also has me concerned because baby is getting large and the mother has gestational diabetes. Please let me know.

Avatar f tn It could Braxton hicks contractions but you should talk to your Dr. I started having contractions really bad if I am active at about 22weeks with this pregnancy and went to the hospital and found out I have a irritable uterus and have to be very careful with what I am doing. I am on restricted activities. It's best to be safe call or go in.
Avatar f tn I have had levels done 4 times, all doubling as should. I had an ultrasound at 5w2d to check implantation of pregnancy, pregnancy is in uterus and we seen gestational sac and yolk sac, but no baby yet dr said it is to early. I had not had any bleeding or spotting, I am just worried becacuse my 2nd pregnancy (which was 14 months ago) ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks so I am very concerned. Just looking for any experiences/thoughts!
Avatar f tn your uterus is a muscle and like any other muscle works best when its kept tonned, thats why people drink red raspberry teaf tea or take the tablets, it tones and strengthens your uterus, the benefits of this is that during labour it will work better during contractions, making the contractions more efficient, whoich can shorten your labour by around an hour or so :)
72760 tn?1214928943 My high risk doctor told me that during my next pregnancy, he will have me take progesterone (in the form of vaginal suppositories, but some women get it as a shot) from weeks 15-36.... This is proven to be successful by reducing the chances of preterm labor by up to 40%...... if you have an irritable uterus, which is what I have too, they could help you!! Also, new research is being conducted on the benefits of Omega-3 supplements to reduce the chances of preterm labor.
Avatar f tn s going to schedule me an induction date im feeling really uncomfortable as im having irregular contractions that hurt and have the urge to pee even more this is my fourth pregnancy and the first trouble I come across during any pregnancy has anyone else had this or haves this how did you cope with the pain to get up or lay down thanks for reading !
Avatar f tn I wish I could tell you the irritable uterus contractions went away, but at least they can be somewhat manageable. I have also learned if you are ever worried, just call your doctor and get everything checked out. I wish you all the best.
Avatar f tn It happens to me too and its normal. Your uterus always does this, but as it is much larger during pregnancy, it is more noticeable.
Avatar n tn My ob called it a cranky uterus where it contracts to early in the pregnancy. I had this problem im my first pregnancy at 28 weeks and my cervix started shortening. I am currently experiencing this in my second pregnancy at 21 weeks:( I hope ur cervix doesnt shorten because its hard being on bedrest. Good luck with everyrhing.
Avatar f tn Oh, you'll feel it. It's just hard to feel the difference between early contractions and Brackston Hicks. That's probably what they mean.
200198 tn?1259887597 unless your doctor tell you not to it is safe to have sex at any point during the pregnancy (well until your water breaks and I don't know many mom's who would want to have sex after their water breaks) as far as contracting after having an orgasm I don't know exactly at what stage it is considered normal to contract, but I started having contractions with sex when I was 2 to 3 months with all 3 of my pregnancies, it is usually only a problem if your doctor think you may go into prem

7477421 tn?1398195693 Is masturbate is bad during pregnancy?
20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
Avatar f tn A friend gave me some and told me it helped her during her pregnancy, just wondering if anyone else has tried it.
Avatar f tn This is my second pregnancy and it seems like everything is happening a lot sooner that it should. For instance, the night before last I was having consistent painful contractions from midnight until about 5 in the morning along with lower back pain. I went into L&D but was only monitored for 15 minutes, the doctor came in and asked me if I had sex recently as soon as I said yes she took off the belly band and discharged me.
Avatar f tn I have had a irritable uterus for about 5 weeks I have been admitted to L&D for times for 48 hours because of contraction and because they stopped and I was not dilating they sent me home and told me to restrict my activities as that can cause contractions. Make sure ur bladder is always empty but make sure ur hydrated as well. Orgasm will cause ur uterus to produce contractions so also be aware.
Avatar f tn re pregnant, but that bleeding during early pregnancy is fairly common. The difference between a period and early pregnancy bleeding is that when you have your period, your uterus is shedding the layers and unfertilized egg. Early pregnancy bleeding is more hormonal and due to the stretching of the uterus (or something to that effect). Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn Do you mean closed or entirely sealed up? A uterus can let some bleeding out during early pregnancy, for example. But there is a mucus plug that blocks the bottom of the cervix during pregnancy, so the uterus is closed (and mostly sealed too).
Avatar f tn Anytime you heavily bleed during pregnancy it needs to be seen, in early pregnancy it could be a miscarriage, or it could be something much less serious, but it needs to get checked into! Good luck!
Avatar f tn How far along are you?? If its very early in your pregnancy you should go. If you are approaching your due date soon then wait for the labour to start or they will just send you back home.
