contractions

Avatar n tn I am week 36 and experiencing Braxton hix contractions already. Is there anything I can do to help slow them down or help with the the pain?
Avatar n tn You should be okay to masturbate and have sex all the way up until your water breaks, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Yes, orgasms do cause uterine contractions, but unless your body and baby are ready they won't be strong enough to start labor.
1596202 tn?1297306958 In pregnancy there found uterine contractions that are regular rhythmical ( Braxon-Hicks)but before the labor these are weak and gets stronger and stronger as labor starts.
Avatar f tn False contractions. Your stomach will get super tight and hard, and can be really uncomfortable. Some women get them later in pregnancy and some women never get them during pregnancy. I got them around 33 weeks. They are random and sometimes I would have to stop and catch my breath.
Avatar f tn Well since Friday I have been having Braxton hicks contractions, every day they get more & more intense & frequent & are extremely painful. My doctor found nothing, said bc my cervix was closed, wasn't shortening as of my last ultrasound that I'm fine. Well now I'm lightly spotting. Going in again today last minute, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this issue??
Avatar f tn I was reading about chamomile earlier today & said causes uterine contractions....anyone ever heard of this!?
Avatar f tn Then at 24wks I started getting random uterine contractions that felt like bh but with a menstrual cramp and pain in the back and would take my breath away, even had one in the middle of an ob appointment, he still said it was ok because it was random. At 27wks, I woke up feeling a bit off and occassional menstrual cramps. By lunch I also had intestinal cramps and felt like I needed to have diarrhea so went to the toilet, felt like I couldn't get up for 1.
Avatar f tn Orgasms do cause uterine contractions. If it continues or gets stronger it you start bleeding a lot, you should call your doctor or L&D. Otherwise some stomach cramping is normal. Evena little bleeding (spotting) is normal.
Avatar f tn Its because when you have an orgasm your body releases s chemical called oxytocin.
Avatar n tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that small amounts of a spice used to season food will not have any harmful effects on the babies or you. Celery seed in large quantities or the extract could potentially cause uterine irritability or contractions or even bleeding if you were using large amounts, and it has not been studied in pregnant women, so I would not advise eating large quantitites such as what you mght use for its sedative qualitites.
9650087 tn?1409135110 It's not pregnancy that will cause rupture it's the intense contractions during labour that is the issue. If course talk to your doctor but he/she will most likely be recommending a C section with this pregnancy to avoid possible rupture during a vaginal birth. Good luck.
Avatar f tn labor pains, also known as Braxton Hicks contractions. These irregular uterine contractions are perfectly normal and may start to occur in your second trimester, although more commonly in your third trimester of pregnancy. They are your body's way of getting ready for the "real thing.
Avatar f tn ll kinda make your breathing feel slightly different. To differentiate between braxton Hicks contractions and real labor contractions you need to pay attention to your stomach getting hard and if it's accompanied by pain. You'd feel it get tight. It's hard to miss. You also need to time them. Write down what time they happen and for how many seconds or minutes.that way you can tell how far apart they are and how long you're having a contraction.
Avatar n tn i have uterine didelphys with 2 cervix' and 2 separate 1/2 uterous. my uterous are not equal halves. the right is smaller then the left and my pregnancy is in the right. i am 10 days past my due date which was july 29th 2009. i have contractions all the time but never consistant. they just start up and then dwindle away. my doc wants to do a c-section and wanted to back on july 20th but i keep asking her to wait so i can try to go into labor on my own and hopefully have a vaginal delivery.
Avatar f tn What it says as in signs. Low, dull backache. Four or more uterine contractions per hour. Contractions may feel like; menstrual cramps, sensation of baby rolling up, increased uterine activity, abdominal cramping (with out without diarrhea) , and increased pelvic pressure (with or without thigh cramps). Thats all word for word from my book. It says if you experience any of these symptoms, lie down on your side, place a hand on your lower abdomen and feel for contractions.
Avatar f tn Hello to all. I am brand new here. I've posted a couple of times but cannot find the thread(s). I'm still becoming familiar with the way this site works so forgive me repeating myself. :) Nine days ago I had my Mirena removed. It was at the end of my cycle that had started five days earlier. My cycles were between 25 and 31 days long in the past 7 months. Four days after the IUD came out, I felt crampy the way that ovulation usually feels for me.
Avatar f tn My second pregnancy I was induced at 38 weeks because of intra uterine growth restriction, and my third pregnancy was induced because at 38w & 5d my placenta started to detach and I was bleeding, but I was not having contractions so they wanted to induce me so there was no danger to the baby.
Avatar f tn s safe to have an orgasm in early pregnancy?
475489 tn?1223948282 I have know idea if this is normal but I am 28 weeks and feeling the same thing light cramps in my lower abdomon. You just made me feel better knowing I'm not the only one going through this. My doctor said for me for go to the hospital if it gets worst but so far it has been cramps that come and go all under 15 minutes. She didn't seem worried about it. So maybe it is normal???
Avatar f tn I have a 2 year old son. Recently I have started having uterine contractions when he cries. It's only in the early morning when I'm still in bed and he wakes me up crying into the monitor. It's usually just one contraction that lasts a couple of minutes. They feel exactly like the contractions that you get after you have a baby and your uterus is shrinking back down to its normal size... like when you're breast feeding. I haven't breastfed in about 10 months.
Avatar n tn Contractions in the absence of other symptoms are not an early sign of pregnancy in anyone. (I assume that if your stomach had been growing noticeably and didn't stop, or you were having morning sickness or sore breasts or feeling kicks, you would have mentioned it here.) In pregnancy, all those things and lots more happen months and months before contractions. Does this (the contractions) also happen when you have an orgasm? That's actually pretty common.
Avatar f tn Some speculate that orgasm (i.e. uterine contractions) can hinder implantation although there is NO scientific evidence that sex hinders anything at this early stage. Once implantation occurerd which it did in your case it is safe to return to your normal sex life. However, if you have any bleeding which is not unusual in early pregnancy, you will be put on pelvic rest (i.e. no sex). Congrats on your pregnancy!!!
Avatar f tn That's also why they say do not use laxatives during pregnancy. Same concept as castor oil to uterine contractions but doesn't get everything else going.
10559663 tn?1413260481 Hi alid32, sometimes your uterine contractions doesn't start in a pattern even if you are in labour..it's only when you are in active labour your contractions become stronger and starts to appear frequently.. I am a first time mum so every signs of pregnancy seems so strange..I too think that my contractions are just Braxton hicks..:( coz they appear seldomly..!!
Avatar f tn which encourages uterine contractions and seminal fluid works to thin out. Walking never worked for me since I was always really active anyway, but sex did the trick!
