Avatar n tn Implantation bleeding, ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage can cause bleeding in early pregnancy. Cramps a week before menses can be caused by uterine contractions. In few cases it may be caused by abnormalities in the uterus and ovaries. It is best to see a gynecologist and discuss your concerns. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn If you do not chart your ovulation and have an anovulatory disorder, then you may assume that you are menstruating normally when anovulatory bleeding occurs during your cycle. This anovulatory bleeding occurs when estrogen production continues to develop in the uterine lining without reaching the threshold necessary to trigger ovulation. In such a case, either of the following two things may happen, both leading to what appears to be a menstrual period but is really not one..
Avatar f tn Some women describe contractions as strong menstrual cramps. Unlike false labor contractions or Braxton Hicks contractions, true labor contractions do not stop when you change your position or relax. Although the contractions may be uncomfortable, you will be able to relax in between contractions. What's the Difference Between True Labor and False Labor? Before "true" labor begins, you may have "false" labor pains, also known as Braxton Hicks contractions.

Avatar f tn My menstrual cycle is due in about a week; my fertile days have ended before intercourse. My partner and I didn't use a condom and I'm not on BC, but he withdrew before finishing each time. I'm confused as to whether the cramping is due to frequent intercourse or PMS. I cannot afford the morning after pill so I need answers before resorting to it if I possibly have to.
Avatar f tn The normal vaginal discharge is thicker at specific times of the menstrual cycle (at the time of ovulation), during breastfeeding, or during sexual arousal. An increase in the amount of vaginal discharge, an abnormal odor or consistency of the fluid, or pain, itching, or burning that accompanies vaginal discharge can all be signs of infection or other more serious disorders.

Avatar f tn It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle. Intercourse just before periods will not result in pregnancy as the uterine endometrial lining has already been sloughed off the uterus. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Decidual bleeding is where you only shed a little part of the uterine lining, whereas in a menstural cycle you shed all of the lining. It can be hard to tell the two apart, as the flow can be quite similar. In most cases with decidual bleeding, it's not quite as long or the flow might not be quite as heavy. Another difference is, is that decidual bleeding is very uncommon. Most women will never experience this.
Avatar f tn In regards to your other question, no you also cannot have a true menstrual cycle. Ovulation is what triggers a period and this (in almost all women) is impossible while pregnant. During a period you shed the lining that would be used to support a growing child. If this happens while pregnant you miscarry. It IS possible on the other hand the experiance vaginal bleeding which is very different and possible while pregnant. This can at times also mimic a proper period.
