Avatar n tn I need a good thyroid dr. in the Madison WI. My Dr. Is refusing to prescribe Armour Thyroid now. He wants me on synthetic thyroid. I have been on Armour for six years and feel fine. My counts are good other than TSH which is surpressed 0.015 which it also has been for years. Any names of a good thyroid dr. that will continue to prescribe the Armour? I hate to be forced into ordering it overseas.
Avatar f tn Hi all, For those of you looking in the near-Madison, WI area, I saw Dr. Bouc in Beloit in the middle of August. He is phenomenal. Unlike the other docs I've seen, he is treating me by my symptoms instead of looking at my TSH and saying, "your in the normal range" and doing nothing. Since switching doctors to Dr. Bouc, I am feeling significantly better. He switched my meds from Synthroid to WP thyroid. I simply cannot recommend him enough.
Avatar f tn I have not had any personal experience with UW Madison, but I am from WI. I know that there is a really good MS clinic at St. Luke's in Milwaukee. I see you are coming from Iowa? It would be a little further of a drive, about an hour, but from what I've heard, this is the best clinic in the state. I have not personally been there, but I know a few people that have. Everyone that I know who has MS goes to St. Lukes. It might be worth looking into.

Avatar f tn I really feel motivated to exercise and workout the muscles that haven't been used in probably 8 years. lol! Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym. (Yea, I've let myself go that bad.
693804 tn?1304720474 I'm going with Evie for a nickname since I'm not such a big fan of Evangeline. But I understand it's important to Tim as it's his g'mas name. Better then Vangie which is what they called her! I like Elizabeth, why wouldn't you want her to have your middle name? Madison is the capital city of WI where I work and play.
Avatar n tn I can only say that my wife has owned cardio equipment and if the owner used it frequently you'll probably find a lot of problems that constantly need fixing. They don't hold up well. If you can't afford fairly regular repairs in both time and money, I'd just get a gym membership -- it's probably cheaper in the long run.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone knew a really good Endocronologist dealing with or specializing in Thyroid in the Madison, WI area? Preferrably within the Unity HMO? Any good Endo in the entire south central or SE part of WI would be welcome as well. Reason I ask is that my wife is Hypo, and we suspect at least one of not two of our 3 daughters are hypo. I also have many of the symptoms of Hypo but my TSH is 1.6 and I couldn't talk my Primary care Dr.
Avatar f tn Substituting your regular workout with a lighter day of walking can also provide the rest and recovery needed within a workout routine. The only equipment required is a comfortable pair of shoes. Even if you don’t have access to a treadmill, you can walk outdoors. Running is the most common form of exercise for children and adults. Many people choose to run outside but treadmills can offer a reasonable alternative when the weather is bad.
Avatar n tn I would ask to be checked for bacterial vaginosis. He can't say its yeast without testing for yeast, or he shouldn't anyway.
Avatar f tn Okay so I can't go to the gym. I get really bad anxiety, like I'll go to walk through the door and start crying. I've always been this way. I walk an hour a day but I'm trying to get in shape and loose 10lbs for vacation in August.
Avatar f tn Many gyms have a wide selection of group classes that include yoga, aerobics, step aerobics and dance-style workouts such as Zumba. Joining a class for beginners can help if you feel unsure of how to proceed with your workout. Remember, you're likely not the only gym newbie in the class. As you exercise in a class, you might feel more confident and even find a future workout partner. Check the area of the gym that features a number of cardio machines.
1279364 tn?1280682588 I have to ask! Is the Shake Weight a viable piece of workout equipment for your upper body? I know it is for your stomach since you will be laughing so hard. =D But other than the laughs, which are good for your health, is it worth $20 & 6 minutes a day? PS - I don't think I could ever use this in front of the kids. Know what I mean?
Avatar n tn I can't find any neuro opthalmologists in my state (WI). Do you suppose the Mayo Clinic has one? or should I trust an opthalmogist enough to know if it was something abnormal to refer me to nuero?

Avatar m tn He has suffered his whole life with what he considered an allergy until he was dx with VR by a very reputable ENT in Madison WI. He grew up in Western Mass, has lived in Chicago, Virginia, Oregon (Portland) and now Madison, WI. All places he has lived offer NO relief. He has literally been sneezing, congested and in chronic "allergy" mode since December. He has a career that will offer a job literally anywhere. WE have 2 small children so moving to Iceland, not an option...
