My doctor tried all the drugs you see on TV and in the end I am taking 10mg oxy 3 times a day and .1mg of clonidine 4 times a day. I have tried going a day only taking one of the drugs but only get relief by taking both. While still being on oxy is not the best I did reduce my intake. I was on 30mg oxy 4 to 5 times a day at my highest dose.
Good day, clonidine works very well when coming off of opiates. That is what they gave me during my 8 days of detox and after 54 days I use it at night to help me rest. It really works well and I would call it a miracle drug as well. Just only use .1 and no more than that, but it all depends on what your doctor says too.
The number one mode of transmission is IV Drug use so most children are not exposed to that. Blood transfusion was another common form of transmission, however, all blood is now screened for for hep b & c. I won't say they catch 100% of infected blood but it's pretty close to that.
In my opinion, children are less likely to be exposed to hepc. There is a very small (5%?) chance it can be passed in utero to the child from an infected mother.

a person with a low BP during wd should beware of clonidine...most of the time wd/severe from strong narcotics or high doses///the bp goes up due to the stress of wd...a 60 mg hydro user would possibly see a big drop in bp due to clonidine which can cause emergency situations....a 200-300 mg oxy user who goes ct would possibly benefit from clonidine use to curb wd..it is better than methadone or sub...as it is non-narcotic...
I was given that during my first detox and I had the sweats and rapid pulse during my detox. This time around I did NOT use the Clonidine and I did not have those symptoms. I still had all the other WD's but not the sweats and rapid heart. The only think I take (and very rarely at that) is a 1/2 a xanax or a valium during the heavy anxiety. But I hold off as long as possible for the 1/2 a pill.
I too would recommend trying the Clonidine. As others have said, it is an anti-hypertensive medication that does help to relieve w/d symptoms quite successfully. It will not take them away completely, but it will minimize some of the symptoms, by reducing the sympathetic nervous system response, such as tachycardia and high BP.
It's not a habit-forming drug, and really, the biggest consideration is some hypotension (low BP).
Both the diastolic and the systolic remain high (higher than before exercise) for 12 hours after exercise. The rise in my diastolic bp is NOT accompanied by any feeling of anxiety.
I am CERTAIN I am taking my blood pressure correctly.
What could be causing this? Please do not say "See a doctor." I've seen many and they just throw pills at me and dismiss my complaint.
I have family member that has been on zanaz and prozac for 3-4 years, has 2 children, I have noticed latley she is slurring her words, driving while medicated with children in car and drinking. Things seem very out of normal and I am very concerned for her welfare aong with the childrens. dr. refuses to give her new RX ....has refered her to phycologist. She has stated she has suffered for years with anxiety attacks, sleeplessness, panic attacks...and also states her mom is on same meds....
I couldn't have done it without the clonidine. .1mg twice per day (right when you get up and right when you go to bed). It keeps your heart rate down, blood pressure down, and prevents most of the stomach cramps and I didn't have ANY RLS at all. It also causes constipation, which helps with the diaherria. Tried to quit twice before without it and couldn't do it. I would taper down as low as you can and start the clonidine as part of the taper...
Yea, I did, but I was thinking that I did not want to take or get dependent on anything and I only wanted to take it for the minimum time? I sit up till nine because of my new (3) Adopted children. Maybe later I will think it is good.
PERSCRIBED NOTHING REALLY WORKED FULLY UNTIL I USE THE CLONIDINE .IT IS PERCRIBED FOR RLS ,I TAPERED OF THE CLONIDINE AFTER THE W/DS WERE OVER BUT I JUST WENT FOR A PHYSICAL LAST WEEK AND TO MAKE SURE MY KIDNEYS WERENT SWISS CHEESE BUT ANYWAY HE PUT ME BACK ON IT FOR MY BLOODPRESSURE AND THE RLS. NEVER HAD NO TROUBLE WITH BLOODPREESURE IT NOW THE PERCS WERE SPIKING MY LEVELS NOT GOOD! BUT CHECK FIRST WITH THE DR. BUT I HAVENT HAD A BAD NIGHT DUE TO RLS SINCE.
Many psychotropics are approved for use to treat pediatric psychiatric disorders if the physician exercises appropriate caution. Use of these drugs in combination would not be an unusual practice if done responsibly. It is not uncommon for children with complex emotional and behavioral issues to receive more than one psychotropic medication.
