Common Questions and Answers about Use of ambien in pregnancy

ambien

Avatar f tn I was previously on Ambien. I actually quit taking that and now use Unisom sleep tablets and they work very well. My OB assured me that Ambien was okay, but I figured I would try over the counter first and it works great for me. Can't help you on the other. Good luck.
1102799 tn?1269237714 yes our friend took Lunesta and his wife found him a couple of nights walking in the house in the middle of the night, he had no memory of it and did not have this problem with Ambien. Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
Avatar n tn If you are taking ambien too constantly, then your brain simply cannot sleep without it. With it, it sleeps like normal brain without ambien, which means that it could be addiction.Try not taking it for a week and then take 10mgs and see what happen.
Avatar m tn I have been up 51 straight hours with one nap in between, and I have a full work day ahead of me and really in need of SOME sleep. Anyways detoxing from hydrocodien today is day 25 I've been off opiates, and didn't want to risk taking something that can affect my healing process. My uncle gave me 2, he knows my current situation and it said ambien wasn't an opiate and could help. I'm not looking to use it everynight or anything but I'm running on 4 weeks of almost no sleep.
Avatar f tn I’m curious if the long term effect of Ambien and adipex is causing this issue? Doctor has me taking 2 doses of adipex a day and 1 pill of Ambien at night for sleep. I’m 34 years old. Can some one help me?
Avatar f tn Metformin is generally used in women that have PCOS or is a medicine used for diabetic people. Do you normally have regular cycles? It's strange for your doctor to have you take that just because you didn't ovulate one month. Every female will have a time where she doesn't ovulate one month for various (or no) reasons. How long ago did you take this, and are you still on it?
Avatar f tn Your post is directly related in some case to my own. I was taking ambien last year and did a number of things in my sleep which I dont care to mention, and not remmeber the next day. In short, I tapered myself off ambien, and experience a daily dose of confusion, and memory loss. Its so embarrassing. My fiance constantly looks at me like I am crazy, for not being able to recall something from the day before, and etc. I really hope someone does something to remove this drug from our shelfs.
1690584 tn?1340297472 Hello, e The actual effects of Ambien in pregnancy have not been studied and is recommended for use only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Also, it is best to not cross the recommended dose of 10mg/day. So, try to wean yourself f the medication. You should stop becoming anxious and try to relax. Try to have a warm bath before sleeping. Have a glass of milk or read a book before trying to sleep. Don’t watch TV or do exercise before sleeping.
Avatar f tn I've looked up a lot about ambien during pregnancy and I haven't found anything saying you shouldn't take it or that it'll harm the baby. Has anyone spoken to their doctor about ambien? I've had ambien prescription for years and it's really hard for me to sleep. No I'm not addicted, I used to take it only once or twice a week. It wasn't an every day thing. But it gets sooooo hard for me to sleep some nights so I'm wondering if it's safe.
Avatar m tn Your Doctor knows! Hey, you gotta sleep somehow while you taper off of Ambien. Z-drugs are serious to get off of and your doctor seems to know this (some don't, you're lucky). Follow directions, have faith, you'll do this Zootal. The Ambien taper goes on and on for me. It's hell in a pill to get off of. I'm on the final week of 1.25MG Ambien every night, down from 10MG a night. During my taper, which began in March, I've used strictly OTC sleep aids.
Avatar f tn Well I USED to. Have not touched it in about a month. It was tough but I went ct off of Percs, oxy, ambien and Ativan. I have been off of everything except the perc's and Oxy for a month. Those I had to start over and am now at day 4. Ambien are addictive and have bad wd's. Just look them up.
Avatar f tn s designed to help you sleep like Ambien, not a benzo. And remember, all of them are habit forming and some are addictive if you use them regularly, so natural is a better way to try first; the medications will always be there if you need them.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I would like to ask whether the use of Raglan in pregnancy due to the morning sickness can have negative effect for the baby? Because I am throwing out everything I can't eat, I even couldn't drink and was in hospital last week, and the doctor said I have to take Raglan. I take the medicine now and I feel better but I'm worried for the baby.
Avatar n tn Here is a website for info on ambien http://www.thetrap.org.uk/forum/index.php Ambien one of the hardest drugs to get off of. Ambien's website says to only use 7=10 days and doctors are prescribing it for months and years now people are highly addictive to it and having trouble after withdrawing for years.
Avatar f tn or earlier, would taking one .25 mg. tablet of Xanax, in order to get another few hours of sleep, put me in jeopardy of relying on the Xanax, or would this occasional use be OK? I would never take more than this one tablet in the morning. I would rather avoid Xanax. Do you have any suggestions for stopping the early morning episodes?
Avatar m tn Thank you both for your replies.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I have been trying to get off norco (15, 10mg a day) for a couple years now. Needless to say I haven't been very successful. Well as of 5 days I haven't had any norcos but used kratom throughout. I started with a higher dose and tapered down each day. Well today is day one of no kratom. I have no money to get more but I am looking at that as a blessing. I feel better than I ever have while withdrawaling very, very little symptoms.
6884999 tn?1385764179 is it ok to use ambien to help me sleep coming off of vicodin.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll get over the anger or mood swings until I get off of ambien. I'm 29 days off of hydrocodone. I think ambien has the same side effects as hydrocodone. I just want to be drug free!!!
Avatar m tn s a bit of a long story. He put me on the Ambien because of anxiety related sleep problems, and told me I'd be on it for several weeks or so and may have to spend time getting off of it. He gave me a four month supply, but I'm hoping to use maybe half of that much. It was a temporary thing from the very beginning.
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
Avatar m tn what is the problem with being on ambien? i have never in my life slept like I do with ambien, I would sleep for 12 hours and feel like i merely took a nap... then I got some ambien, and, I feel so refreshedwhen I wake up, after less than 8 hours of sleep... am I addicted? Yeah, probably...but I have no intention to stop, and as long as I dont have the desire to take it during the day or something, whats the big deal, being addicted to sleep?
Avatar f tn I'm 16+2 my dr prescribed me ambien..I'm scared to take it as I've seen what it does to my mom...anyone not have bad side effects like sleep walking, sleep driving or hillucinating?
Avatar n tn m experienced in what works and what does not. there r all kinds of things one can use to get some sleep. Ive taken ambien as well certain otc drugs to get some sleep during w/drwls. Ambien did work sometimes but only afforded me 3 or so hrs of sleep! After that, your sick from w/drawals AND extreme groginess/exhaustion.Honestly, it has left me in worse shape than no sleep at all. There r certaIn drugs that work to relieve opiate w/drawal but unfortunately, they r few and far between.
Avatar f tn i have been using ambien for many years now. i used the ambien and it's generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one.
