Have endured irritation in urethra (tip of penis) for three weeks, with no discharge or obvious trauma. Had difficulty urinating and irritation from friction with clothes...all day, especially when working out. Saw my GP two weeks ago and told him about symptoms; he asked if there was any reason it could be STD...I have not had any new partners and in monogamous relationship, so I hope it's not STD.

my urine culture did so ant growth in 48 , i guess my question is, a urine test is a good why to test for trichomonas and if recurrent episode is a factor even with treatment?

I did go back to another doctor.. GYN and did test for a UTI, after being off meds. He did say that I didn`t have a UTI and more and he did some test to see if I have an Infection like Yeast or BV and he said I didn`t have those either. He said I was just irritation, and to use some Cortisone 10 on that area for 7 days and it should clear up. I have done this and I still have problems, mainly burning when and after I go.

The doctor however suspect something with my bladder and did a ultrsound and found bladder lining is swollen and thicken and it is a severe infection he said. he did urine test and found blood traces in the urine and tell me it was indeed bacteria infection but unable to determine what bacteria is that. He given me another round of AB for 5 days and ask me to come to doa urine check again. DO i need a urologist as the doctor told me i dont need to go to hospital ?

You can pour some water in while she pees until you get treatment. Take her to the doctor and hey can do a urine test and/or culture to check if she has a bacterial infection. If so they can give her an antibiotic. If it isn't a urinary tract infection does she have pain in the lower right abdomen? Does she have a fever? If so she could have an appendicitis. You need to take her in to the doctor.

Cloudy urine can be from sugar or blood. Have your Dr test your urine just to be safe. Even without symptoms like burning, odor, or frequency you can still have an infection. I don't get symptoms other than how my urine looks.

I have the exact same problem. Its not a uti. A dead giveaway sign of a uti is cloudy urine. Have your doctor do a test for lesions and stuff like that in your bladder and urinary tract. It requires a scope in your bladder but I can't think of the name. Good luck.

m having some testing done. This morning I gave a urine sample and it came back +2 on WBC in urine. The nurse gave me a prescription for antibiotics and said it's probably the beginnings of a UTI, to start the antibiotics and they will culture the urine and see what it is. Should I be worried that it is something worse than a UTI? I usually can feel a UTI coming on and I don't have any of those feelings. 2006 was the last time I had a UTI.

They sometimes just do a quick test to start with from a urine sample and if that if positive they can do a culture but often the doctors just treat with antibiotics. They may want to take blood to check the BUN and Creatinine that shows if the kidneys are functioning properly as well. I would get her to the doctor as soon as you can. i did went to the doctor and he took my urine for test,according to him the next day i hv UTI,he gave me antibiotics and few other medicine to flush it out.within the 1st day of medication i felt like being normal back,discharge less,no more burning while urine.Now im done with the medicine,so far all good..my question is isit all good now?or do i need to go for another test to confirm?or i might get UTI again even if im not expose to anything?

I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???

Since he has to have 3 negative urine test before they can take him off VRE precautions and if it is colonized, like my mom thinks it maybe, then is there a way to tell if he really has a UTI or if it is just because it is colonized. My question is did dipstick can differentiate the std bacteria and uti bacteria? If no , why the doctor can confirm I infected uti bacteria but no std bacteria such as chlamydia?
