446156 tn?1275859576 I went to the dr this morning and the did a pee pregnancy test and it was negative. ( they use the strips.) I had 6 positive test at home! 1 walgreens digital, 2 clear clue digitals, and 3 dollar tree test. They took blood and I will not get that back until Monday. I read online that the strips are not that great. Is that true? Has any one had this happen. My period is 1 day late. So could it be to soon for the strips to tell? Please Reply.
Avatar f tn So I've been told that this gender test from walgreens has been pretty accurate for some women & I really wanna know if anyone else has used it & it was correct??
Avatar f tn However, if you can get a blood sugar test kit (and strips) you could test fasting blood sugar (as soon as you wake up and before eating), and 2 hours after meals. If these numbers are high, then you would need to see a doctor. Keep an eye out, there may be free blood sugar testing offered by some pharmacies / in malls from time to time. Why do you think you have diabetes? WHat are your symptoms?
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I pee in the morning and then my 2nd urine of the day is when I test- somewhere between 10am and 2 pm.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
1527009 tn?1329854525 t an issue than the digital ones are great OPK but i used the cheap ones from Walgreens that come 20 in a pack that are strips that you dip and then compare lines. I've used many brands but haven't noticed any differences, all work. I also used a sperm friendly lube called Pre seed which you can buy online or at CVS. If you go to the Pre seed website preseed.
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
9137321 tn?1402710290 So I my gender urine test this morning and it says boy!!! Hope it's right because that's what we want!
Avatar f tn Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.
Avatar n tn I again bought urine strips that detect blood only, and the strips shows non-hemolyzed trace only after drinking beer or coffee. If I drink a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda, the test strips come out negative. I guess my question is "is it harmful to drink a glass of baking soda water daily?", or should I return to the doctor and go thru kidney x-rays, cystoscopy, etc again? I really hate to give up my coffe ...
1317258 tn?1421713625 com and you can get them really cheap there. I get my HPT from there as well. I think I got like 20 ovulation test strips for $18 and they have free shipping. I just tried my first strip today and got a positive at 11 dpo! So I am switching on the baby makin today!
Avatar n tn I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past. Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis. Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.
Avatar f tn Go to walgreens or cvs and they sell strips to test your milk for alcohol, that way you dont end up throwing away perfectly good milk :)
296076 tn?1371334474 yep I can get them at Walgreens for $14.99 for a kit of 50 strips....now I just have to wait til I get off work.....ahhhh.....I'm so glad I checked.....screw the Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi! I have used Clinical Guard ovulation strips, and they work. But I just discovered some called BFP, they make ovulation & pregnancy test strips, and they are super accurate and easy to read. They're my new "go-to" brand. I buy off of Amazon. Good luck! & lots of baby dust!
Avatar n tn Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.
Avatar m tn Unprotected oral second void, maybe 1/2 ounce wasted then in the cup NAAT,, male is this an accurate test? Potential prostate swollen and frequent urination?

Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. At around 19 weeks, after having urethral pain for 2 weeks, I went to the ER as i was certain I did have a UTI, even though my doctor dismissed my symptoms and told me the leukocytes and bacteria found were from contamination. I was in considerably more pain that same night so headed to the ER where they confirmed I had a UTI and put me on cephalexin. I took it for 4 days until I started having diarrhea.
Avatar f tn s just little strips of litmus paper there where I think 50 strips for 8 bucks check Wal-Marts website also cvs and Walgreens should have something similar if no luck there try amazon....
Avatar f tn You can always buy test strips at target or pharmacy. PH strips you can test the discharge and it will tell you if its just urine or amniotic fluid.
Avatar f tn t show up as a opiate and would only get picked up on a (gcms) mass spectrometer specifc gravity test, which cost more money than the nida 5 whiz strips which only tests for the more common drugs, marijuana, cocaine, morphine, meth, etc.
Avatar f tn I went to two doctors. Had gonnohrea and clamydia test 7 days post which were negative. I went to plan parenthood today hoping to get swab test done. They said they didn't do that test. They took urine for second gonnohrea and clamydia test. I just don't know what to do now. My urethra feels like there is urine in it after I pee and there is some sensitivity but I can't get confirmation on whether I have a nsu. Really could use some opinions on this.
Avatar n tn My problem is I have recently lost a job and have no health insurance. I have gotten state assistance for the syringes and insulin but it will not cover the test strips. Does anyone know where I might find assistance to pay for this these? At $85 every 3 weeks they are not cheap but without them my insulin dosing is sheer guesswork.
1973666 tn?1325964688 Why not buy a pack of urine reagent test strips that you can use to test your urine for protein. A pack of 100 strips can be had for not too much money ($12.00 to around $50 depending on the brand). Find them through Google. Then if you see that you do have protein in your urine, you could use the strip as evidence to show your primary doctor that you need a referral to a nephrologist. I like the idea of using strips for testing at different times of day.
