The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price.
These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose.
You can get strips that detect less.
The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.

Due to the frequency of my symptoms, I have urinalysis test strips at home. 5 days ago, when my symptoms began, I did a test first thing in the morning (with no voiding during the night), it showed positive for both nitrites and leukocytes (>500).
Later that day, I went to the urologist and their urinalysis came back clear. They gave me a bladder instillation (of which I have been doing weekly or bi-weekly).
They did not send the urine to a lab. I do not have an infection as the urine strips test for leukocytes (which are fighting infection cells)..
He did a quick test of urine (I guess with the urine test strips) and said it was normal. Then he asked me if STD was a possibility and I said could be due to my brothel visit. He has put me on amoxicillin 1000mg twice a day for 5 days. He told me to visit a urologist if there is still no relief. You can buy on line Urine Reagent Strips quite cheaply. There are some that test the urine just for glucose, but they do not give an accurate recording of how much sugar there is in the blood stream. These sticks are a good indicator, but they will only detect glucose in the urine if there is above a certain level (fairly high) of glucose in the urine. An HbA1c blood test shows average blood glucose levels over a sustained period (about a 3 month period).

But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. I received a urinalysis in hospital as well, which did show blood, but no leukocytes. 3 other urine tests 3 months later and on, showed no leukocytes or blood.
I did have sex with my wife after my encounter and before my hospital trip unprotected.
My wife has also been having issues with ovarian cysts after this.

t have insurance and money is extremely tight, so instead of what I knew would be a $200 trip to doc in a box and a prescription for antibiotics, I chose an otc urine test strip. It showed leukocytes but no nitrates. I am a 51 year old woman, excellent health, peri-menopausal and have had no period during this time.
Since I have had no urinary frequency, no fever, no other symptoms, I decided to try the natural-path route.
12 days after the initial encounter i did a Pcr std test - came back negative for everything (chlamydia, gono, trich, ureaplasma and mycoplasma). Leukocytes were high at 500. Urine culture negative. 1 week later i did another leukocytes test which came back positive (i dont have numbers for this one). Symptoms persisted. 2 weeks after the first test I did a second pcr test - negative again.
