urine-test

1201929 tn?1293708072 I have absolutely no experience in those, however I have seen this on a pregnancy test once. I think to much urine was used when it happened. Not to sure though, hopefully someone else will chime in. I just wanted to take a look out of curiosity lol.
Avatar f tn I have been doing an ovulation prediction for the last few days. it is showing that I am not ovulating, but with first morning urine it is much darker line. I read that those strips can indicate pregnancy as well as ovulation. Does this first morning being darker mean anything? I did another in the afternoon and it was light. I am having some pregnancy symptoms, and have take a test, negative. It would have been from sex on July 2nd. I have no idea about my cycles, none...
127529 tn?1331840780 So this month I am going to use ovulation test strips to see if I am indeed still ovulating. My cycles have been anything from 27 to 40 days in the last six months, with the 40 days being my last cycle but averaging around 32/34 days. I have never used the test strips before and the instructions given are for those with regular cycles. What day would be the best for me to start using them?
1240856 tn?1333440354 I us Answer (I’m pretty sure that’s the) brand. It comes with 20 test strips instead of 2-3 test sticks. Ohh and most important thing read the directions to find out how long you have to wait. I know my test strips take 3mins and I have read test sticks take much longer.
Avatar f tn You do not need to test with early morning urine. I usually test btwn 12 and 2pm, and my RE office says that is the best time. You can in fact test anytime, but I think 2ish is good.
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
Avatar f tn Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.
Avatar n tn I again bought urine strips that detect blood only, and the strips shows non-hemolyzed trace only after drinking beer or coffee. If I drink a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda, the test strips come out negative. I guess my question is "is it harmful to drink a glass of baking soda water daily?", or should I return to the doctor and go thru kidney x-rays, cystoscopy, etc again? I really hate to give up my coffe ...
Avatar f tn I go see my doctor and ask for a full STD screening, which included a first catch urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea. I follow the instructions carefully and make sure not to urinate two hours prior to the test, but now I am questioning if I did something that could alter the results. Right before urinating, I noticed some lint on the top of my penis. I used my boxers to dab it off, and then urinated into the first cup.
Avatar n tn ll get a second line due to evaporation so the test has to be read within the time frame the test instructions give you. If you have a positive within that parameter, call your doctor to set up an appointment. Most Ob's don't see you until you are 8 or 9 weeks along but you set up the appointment now. Good luck sweetie and congrats if you are preggers!
Avatar n tn Labs have specified time lines to test blood samples. Surpassing the time line makes the test results bogus, the test is a throw out. Some doctors have their own labs while most send them to an outside independent lab. In either case, the doctor's lab technician or an outside lab technician was tardy testing your blood sample. Complain to your doctor as he/she should make every effort to correct this tardiness so it doesn't happen again.
Avatar n tn I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past. Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis. Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.
Avatar f tn I agree on above comment. I did mine 4 days b4 I missed my period& it was accurate for me..ur in the right truck good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi! I have used Clinical Guard ovulation strips, and they work. But I just discovered some called BFP, they make ovulation & pregnancy test strips, and they are super accurate and easy to read. They're my new "go-to" brand. I buy off of Amazon. Good luck! & lots of baby dust!
1263939 tn?1270698138 I got my ovulation test strips online and it said (for mine at least, this is my first time using one) that if the test line is as dark as, or darker than the control line, then you are ovulating. But if the test line is absent or lighter than the control line, then it's a negative result- not ovulating.
Avatar n tn Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.
Avatar m tn Unprotected oral second void, maybe 1/2 ounce wasted then in the cup NAAT,, male is this an accurate test? Potential prostate swollen and frequent urination?
Avatar m tn hey, dear doctors, since I am in China, and in China we can buy HIV test strips from internet legally, and by self using.and here is my concern:so I bought one strip of Abbott Determine HIV from internet, and I got the package today,it comes with one Determine HIV strip, and a blood collection needle, one tampon. But the blood collection needle is seperated packed in a small plastic bag,but the custormer service explained that it sure is disposable.

Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. At around 19 weeks, after having urethral pain for 2 weeks, I went to the ER as i was certain I did have a UTI, even though my doctor dismissed my symptoms and told me the leukocytes and bacteria found were from contamination. I was in considerably more pain that same night so headed to the ER where they confirmed I had a UTI and put me on cephalexin. I took it for 4 days until I started having diarrhea.
1201929 tn?1293708072 The best time to take your test is when you are a week late and with your first morning urine. Good luck. You may definitely still be pregnant.
Avatar f tn You can always buy test strips at target or pharmacy. PH strips you can test the discharge and it will tell you if its just urine or amniotic fluid.
Avatar f tn You tested with urine that was not concentrated enough. The instructions say to use first-morning urine for a reason. The hCG in the urine will not register on a test if you have had several large glasses of water in the previous hour, for example. Even if you are pregnant.
Avatar f tn t show up as a opiate and would only get picked up on a (gcms) mass spectrometer specifc gravity test, which cost more money than the nida 5 whiz strips which only tests for the more common drugs, marijuana, cocaine, morphine, meth, etc.
Avatar f tn I went to two doctors. Had gonnohrea and clamydia test 7 days post which were negative. I went to plan parenthood today hoping to get swab test done. They said they didn't do that test. They took urine for second gonnohrea and clamydia test. I just don't know what to do now. My urethra feels like there is urine in it after I pee and there is some sensitivity but I can't get confirmation on whether I have a nsu. Really could use some opinions on this.
