Avatar f tn I was then told that my urine specific gravity was high (above what they could test for) and I had elevated bilirubin in my urine and when I asked about the bilirubin was told that my liver was probably stressed by my dehydration (as indicated by the specific gravity and urine color).
Avatar n tn • The third reason for low specific gravity is renal failure, which results in a fixed specific gravity between 1.007 and 1.010. In renal failure, the remaining functional nephrons undergo compensatory structural and hypertrophic changes. These compensatory changes result in urine that is almost isotonic with plasma. Therefore, a patient experiencing renal failure will present with specimens measuring the same, or fixed, specific gravity regardless of water intake.
9644933 tn?1407768890 I felt the need to include it in case it gives off other indications. The specific urine gravity results however do worry me that I could be looking at Kidney troubles as well and wanted advice or thoughts on the matter. All her blood work that related to the kidneys as well as the other urine values are normal. The ultrasound also did not show any abnormalities. It is the specific gravity that remains low. Mid- May: 1.050 (morning, free catch) May 31st: 1.
Avatar f tn burning in kidneys Sent by lwack 1 minute having a burning sensation in my kidneys and nausea I did a urine test strip first thing this morning. All results were fine apart from trace leukocytes, highest specific gravity and highest ketones. I do not take medication and do not feel unwell enough to go to the doctor I am not sure what these mean and should I worry?
Avatar m tn Around two months ago I started seeing a nephrologist to see if the blood is coming from the kidneys, and around the same time my UA test started showing protein in my urine. Bellow are the results of my last UA and a 24hr urine protein. With this results, Is the protein in my urine secondary to the gross hematuria or am I having protein in my urine because some how my kidneys are not working right??? Any help will be really appreciated.
Avatar n tn high specific gravity means high specific gravity, protein in the urine is a different measurement that is easily checked. Traces of protein are of no concern and often mean many things other than kidney disease.
Avatar f tn These are the results of my urine test. Some of the values are a bit high, can you provide me more infos on them? Thanks. Specific gravity - 1.
Avatar m tn 5 Her recent bloodwork was great with a Bun of 20 and a creatinine of 1.1 but the urine came back as dilute with a specific gravity of 1.008. Culture was done and was negative. I decided to purchase a refractometer to check the specific gravity on my own and last night it tested at 1.034 and this morning first pee was 1.015 and then pees after that were around 1.018. Wondering if this is very early renal disease or nothing to concern myself with.
Avatar m tn My question is would NGU have risen any of these values in my urine test? Many of the things the urine test for were infection in my urine but all were normal. I already have HSV1 and my partner swears they have no symptoms of anything. So im guessing HSV2 and syphilis are not likely. Please advise?
Avatar n tn dehydration, adrenal insufficiency, nephrosis, congestive cardiac-failure, liver disease. The best way to know if someone is dehydrated is to look at the colour of their urine. It should be light in colour. The darker it is means it is more concentrated. There will be a dry mouth, not having enough urine to pee (less than 3 wet diapers for a baby would indicate the baby was dehydrated). If you pinch the skin and it takes a long time to spring back, that too can mean dehydration.
Avatar m tn m not a doctor but it seems to me that she has UTI since there is Pus cells present in her urine. Kindly have your doctor read this results. As for HIV concern, the test your wife has is not HIV diagnosing.
Avatar m tn In addition In the blood test that was taken concurrently with the 'morning' urine sample (specific gravity 1.012), both UREA and CREAT readings were reported as below the norm (2.9L mmol (range 3.0-7.5), 56L mmol (range 60-110) respectively).
Avatar f tn my urinalysis result reads hazy transparency, acidic 5.0, specific gravity 1.003, glucose negative, protein trace,WBC:TNTC, RBC:4-8,epithelial cells:few, Bacteria:few, amorphous Urates:Rare, I'm female and 17...what does this mean? thank you..
Avatar m tn My dipstick test came back negative for protein. My numbers were in the normal range for gravity and ph balance. Its color was a pale yellow. I am not really peeing any more or less. My gp seelmed satisfied with the results and told me not to worry. I am not so sure.
Avatar m tn I already taken some testing after 15 days syphilis, hsbag and anti-hsv and all negative. But my urinalysis results has found high in RBC and Specific Gravity. Do I infected by HIV or what STD this high in RBC caused? I am now really worried this is my first time i have oral sex with other women.
Avatar m tn Is this a dog or a cat? What is your animals clinical signs/why were you having blood work performed? The BUN and creatinine are both elevated and indicate some degree of kidney disease. The hematocrit is also very high..I can't make a definitive conclusion because there is no urine specific gravity (do you have one?).
Avatar f tn Specific gravity is different for everyone and is higher when you aren't drinking and urinating a lot, once you loom at enough cups of urine you can usually call gravity by the color and clarity before you even test it lol.
Avatar n tn I took a test that I believe is called a urine specific gravity test but I'm not sure. They didn't find anything in the test, is it safe to assume that it would have detected blood cells or bacteria from chlamydia and gonorrhea?
Avatar m tn You can have infection that does not show on the standard test of nitrites but with the number of epithelial cells /hpf 5- it is most likely not a clean catch, mid stream urine. I would suggest you redo the urine test and be very careful, it is hard to get a good "sterile" or as sterile as possible urine sample. More importantly then the UA is the symptoms your experiencing that go along with a the WBC. That will tell the doctro more about your clinical situation.
Avatar f tn Doc narrorwed it down to diabetes insipidus or neurological (meaning she's neurotic). We have to test specific gravity and go from there. If it's normal, she's doing it to herself out of boredom. Ugh.
Avatar m tn Diabetes can be very difficult and may be the problem behind infections, how is you blood test results, especially white blood cells? If the WBC count is low you will likely not be as resistant to health problems as one with normal WBC counts...these are the cells that fight infections and disease.
