Hi, swabbs area very accurate for confirming positive, meaning they found the gono bug but when its negative does not mean they dont have gono, it means they did not find it so i would suggest he take a urine test to confirm this.

I had a Chlamydia and Gonorrhea urine test 11 days post possible exposure. The test was done by Nucleic Acid Amplification. My urine was also in my bladder for an hour and I only sampled the begining part of my stream per the test collecter. I was negative for both. I agree with Nickie. Also, some tests are more sensitive than others. I have heard and read that the digitals are less sensitive than the regular tests, meaning that the regular line tests may pick up a positive while a digital still reads negative. Also, the tests that doctors offices usually use are less sensitive too. They are usually 50-100 mIu whereas the home ones are around 25.
