urine-test

Avatar m tn Docors ususally test for this by measuring microalbumin (which is a protein) in the urine. If this lab value becomes elevated, your doctor will typically start you on an ACE inhibitor, which will help slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy, along with good control of blood sugars. If you are having trouble maintaining good blood sugar levels, I suggest you go to your doctor and rework your medication and diabetes control plan. Keeping your sugars under control is crucial.
Avatar n tn Erythorcytes :10 - 15 seen, littlehigher, Kidney function test, PSA test is normal, kidney stone test negative.. Doctor examined and said no problem of prostrate. He has pain while passing urine and gets tired after passing urine. WHat might be the cause for RCB to be seen in the Urine?
Avatar f tn I was having bad flank pain on the right side and went to my primary dr who said she thought it was muscle spasms and nothing kidney related. However she did a dip urine test in office and it showed a trace of blood. She then said she would forward to the lab further further eval. Well I still have the pain its worse when I sit or lay for a period of time. I received the report in a patient portal thing before the dr office called.
Avatar m tn Hi, I don’t think you need to worry at all since you haven’t had the hematuria (blood in urine) for the past so long. The cancer of the kidney usually doesn’t present with hematuria. The red colored urine can be due to a number of causes like use of certain drugs etc. I don’t think you need to worry at all and go in for any other tests for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I went on to follow up with a urologist who then ordered a test where a tube was put into my bladder to check for any problems, this came out normal and the repeat of the urine samples showed microscopic amount of blood in the urine. My urologist said he wanted to follow me over the next year and do urine test that were more in depth. I got a call today from the Dr.
Avatar f tn I am assuming his urologist gave him what is known as the FISH Test, which measures the presence of cancer cells in the urine. The problem is the test does not tell you where the cells are from. That is why they have to do all this testing. Their assumption is, since he has had bladder cancer, the cells are from somewhere in the urinary tract system. This could lead to a whole lot of testing.
Avatar n tn Other caused such as kidney stones, menstruation contamination of the sample, kidney disease, and bladder of kidney cancer. A microscopic urine analysis is usually done to confirm the presents of red blood cells and urine culture is often done to rule out infection. If red cells are present in significant numbers, a CT scan of the kidneys and bladder are done. Cystoscopy, looking in the bladder with a small scope is usually performed as well.
Avatar m tn After about 6 months (in Nov 2012), the blood spot after urine came back, and I asked my father to get the urine test done again to determine if it's cancer...that test came back negative again. The doctor again did a utereoscopy to put a stent in and said that the stricture is bigger & dense now and ureter is almost fully blocked, so my father scheduled a laser surgery to remove the ureteral stricture, which he had last week.
Avatar n tn I am a 33 yr old male and I recently had an MRI on my chest for a "mass." As it turns out, the mass was what they called "lipomatous tissue" but no evidense of an enhancing or infiltrative mass. They did find a complex lesion on my right kidney. I will quote the test results: "The liver, spleen pancreas and adrenals are normal. There is a 1.9 x 1.
Avatar m tn He indicated it was more like a cyst. I also got the results of my urine test and found out I have a bladder infection today. Today I had a CT scan with and without the contrast dye. My question is...what is a renal calcification??? From what I read on the internet it sounds like a kidney stone but the doctor indicated it was not a kidney stone and is approx 7mm by 10mm. I am a smoker, overweight and also my aunt and grandmother had kidney cancer.

Avatar n tn As far as I know, a normal kidney function doesn't rule out kidney diseases. Actually kidney function will remain in the normal range until most of the kidney function is lost. Lots of people with kidney problems only have RBC and protein in their urine in the early stages.
3149845 tn?1506627771 And the common causes for painless bleeding in the urine are infections of the kidney/bladder, disorders of the kidney/bladder, tumors, certain blood disorders, strenuous exercise and certain medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Finally went to the doctor about it and she ordered an ultrasound. Weeks before my ultrasound, the doctor tested my urine and blood to test kidney function. All was within normal limits. Got my ultrasound results back today. There are calcifications in both kidneys. The doctor said that my left kidney (the painful one) was slightly larger than my right kidney and that there appeared to be a cyst. Blood was also found in my bladder on the ultrasound.
Avatar m tn I recently got my urine test done with the military and they sent me a letter asking for a family doctor to re-interpret the results and/or do a new urine test. On the info sheet, 3 lines were highlighted and the results were given beside then: Protein - 1+ Ketones - TRACE Bilirubin - 2+ I'm stressing a bit because I did some research online and the articles said that it might be a kidney problem. With me trying to get into the Air Force I need to be physically and mentally healthy.
330478 tn?1278284916 URINE COLLECTION: Volume 24h: 2000 Creatinine 24h U: 14.3 BLOODWORK: Renin: 0.25 I was wondering if you could tell me what is considered "normal range" for all 3 test results and if you could elaborate on what you think might be going on and what should be done. Avatar f tn It would have been very helpful if you gave us your age and gender. Bladder cancer would normally show up on ultrasound scan. However, the ultimate test for bladder cancer is cystoscopy. The thing about this type of cancer is that it can sit there for years and not invade the underlying tissues. So one way or the other you should be fine. If it were me I would ask for a cystoscopy.
Avatar f tn The other test you have looks like a urinalysis( test for the urine) you have blood in your urine but only BLD + 5 UL.
Avatar f tn The doctor said that it might be kidney stone but as I dont feel any pain in the back, it might not be kidney stone. I will be going for the urine test again to check if there is still rbc in the urine. Thank you for the reply.
