urine test results diluted

I was referred to a kidney specialist who reviewed my results and ordered more lab work and had me do a fasting (food and water) blood and urine test but it all came back normal. What else could cause diluted urine. I am about to loose the job because I can't pass the drug test. I am not trying to cover up or hide anything and the employer won't let me take the blood drug test unless I have a medical diagnosis. Please help!

It's always best to take a test with first morning urine....if you wait until later in the day then your urine is more diluted from everything you've been consuming through the day. It's possible that it was a possible..usually a line is a line! The next one that was negative could have been because your urine was more diluted though.

As others have said, take another test with FMU. Urine is so easily diluted. If it helps, try not to drink anything 2 hours before bedtime and then take the test when you wake up.

s office the urine test was negative as well, so i had a blood test taken which came back positive, now 3 days later urine test are still showing negative my LMP was Dec 15 it lasted about 7 days and using due date calculators they say im 4 weeks is this normal?

A week ago I have taken for at home pregnancy test and they were all positive the doctor also gave me a urine test Athat was positive now I decided to take another one and its positive but the second line is very light what could this be

Take another test using the first morning urine. It could be that your urine was just too diluted to register positive for pregnancy.

Having diluted urine may give you a false negative, but not a positive, even diluted urine still gave me a + when I was pregnant though!

During the day, your urine is more diluted and levels of pregnancy hormones may not be high enough to show a positive test. If you tested with first morning urine and that was positive, that is a good sign that you are likely pregnant. It is more likely that you can get a false negative test over a false positive. Test with your first morning urine tomorrow and if it's positive, make your appt. with your OB-GYN for blood test confirmation. Good luck!

Was it a blue dye test? They are known to give false positives. I've gotten a couple when I wasn't pregnant. Also, in the morning becuase you slept all night w/out peeing your pee is less diluted and so its more common to come up positive on a test since your hcg is more present hence why they say test in the morning with first morning urine. If you've been drinking water and peeing often today you could have diluted your pee.

Take another in the morning and see, if there is a line then yep bfp! You are right, the afternoon one was probably too diluted!!

I have been sober for 8 months and my drug test are starting to come back diluted, I didn't have this problem until about a month ago. best thing to do would be to make an appointment with your obgyn and request a blood test. You could always purchase a third brand of test and test again. Pregnancy test are used to measure the HCG in your urine. Some are more sensitive then other test and can detect the HCG at a smaller amount then others. The clear blue was probably able to detect a more sensitive amount while the manual -/+ one need the level to be a little more higher.

I was told not to drink anything for at least 3 hrs before taking it because if the urine is diluted the line might show up lighter. Do you think that could be what is happening? I switched to the clear blue fertility monitor like happynfer and that worked better for me. Will your doctor do a blood test to confirm ovulation? You could also trying temping to confirm ovulation. i drank 3 cups around 500 ml but before sleeping and then after like 5 hours in the morning i had the test and it was negative I don't know if water can affect result specially before 5 hours In addition i am anxious about the medicine Tegretol can it affect the result ??

Its possible that when the hospital took the urine tests,her urine was diluted,so couldnt pick up a positive.maybe she is still in the early stages.

So Wednesday I took a clear digital hpt came back pregnant so I call my doc I made appointment went today they took a test and it came back negative so they did blood work have to wait till Monday but urine test was negative nothing on it I was heartbroken so that was at 10 am now I get home from work 9 pm take one of my extra test and comes back posative clear word pregnant Plz help confused impatient Monday is to far from now

If you took the 2nd test so close to the first your urine was too diluted to have a high enough concentration of HCG for the 2nd one to pick up. I bet if you wait and take another test wtih FMU tomorrow it will be positive.
