336365 tn?1213319598 The spinal was cancelled for unrelated reasons. My 24 hour urine test came back with high protein and blood in the urine (this has been on-going for years). My neurologist had a fit and ordered this test. See results above. I was diagnosed with White Matter Disease after two years of MRI results. The Spinal was because of suspicion of Multiple Sclerosis. I did have the Lumbar Puncture this past Tuesday and no results yet.
Avatar m tn Bellow are the results of my last UA and a 24hr urine protein. With this results, Is the protein in my urine secondary to the gross hematuria or am I having protein in my urine because some how my kidneys are not working right??? Any help will be really appreciated. Color Brown A Clarity Turbid A Glucose, Urine Negative Bilirubin, Urine 1+ A Unable to confirm result due to reagent backorder. Ketones, Urine Negative Specific Gravity, Ur 1.020 1.005 - 1.
Avatar m tn Docors ususally test for this by measuring microalbumin (which is a protein) in the urine. If this lab value becomes elevated, your doctor will typically start you on an ACE inhibitor, which will help slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy, along with good control of blood sugars. If you are having trouble maintaining good blood sugar levels, I suggest you go to your doctor and rework your medication and diabetes control plan. Keeping your sugars under control is crucial.
Avatar n tn I need some help with some test results. I know I have protein in the urine; however, tests were completed that I haven't had done before so I don't have anything to compare them too. Can someone help me understand how/if these test results are out of the normal range, and if, so, how concerned I should be. I see the doctor in a couple of weeks. Protein UR (mg/dl) 641 Creat UR (mg/dl) 268.9 Protein/Creatinine Ratio 2.

Avatar n tn Doctor said she found a small trace of protein in my urine so she wants me to complete a 24 hours urine test. They said it could possibly mean preeclampsia? Can someone give me more insight!?! What if protein is found? Does that mean preeclampsia?
Avatar f tn I am new here and I was hoping that someone would be able to shed some light on my most recent test results. Here is a little background. I am 31, female, and in poor health. I have Lyme, Bartonella, Babesiosis, RA, and a list of other health conditions. I was hospitalized in January for an infected port a cath (pseudomonas) which turned into sepsis. I picked up VRE while in the hospital which was treated with 14 days of IV Zyvox.
Avatar f tn The other test you have looks like a urinalysis( test for the urine) you have blood in your urine but only BLD + 5 UL.
Avatar m tn ( cant find any. My urine test was done at a labratory not in the doctors office.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else ever had to do a 24 hour urine collection test? Im 13 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and ive never had to do this test before its got me kinda stressed.
Avatar f tn You may also need 24 hours urine test, random protein to creatinine ratio to check the kidney status and a serum and urine protein electrophoresis test to determine which proteins are being excreted and in what quantities. Sometimes, some proteins will appear in the urine if the levels of protein in blood become high, even when the kidney is functioning properly. I suggest you to discuss these investigations with your urologist and get them done. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
4503521 tn?1400858886 Having small amounts of protein in your urine is common in pregnancy. It can happen for a number of reasons. It probably just means that your kidneys are working harder now that you're pregnant. It could also mean that your body is fighting a minor infection. Your midwife may send a sample of your urine to the hospital to check if you have a urinary tract infection (UTI). If you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that is safe to take in pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I had a trace of protein last time, sometimes it can be beacuse its not a mid stream wee,or discharge has gone into the wee.I would not be worried about the ttace of protein if your bp was ok. For a bladder infection i drink cranberry juice and that always gets rid of it.
Avatar m tn I recently got my urine test done with the military and they sent me a letter asking for a family doctor to re-interpret the results and/or do a new urine test. On the info sheet, 3 lines were highlighted and the results were given beside then: Protein - 1+ Ketones - TRACE Bilirubin - 2+ I'm stressing a bit because I did some research online and the articles said that it might be a kidney problem. With me trying to get into the Air Force I need to be physically and mentally healthy.
Avatar f tn I am a ftm due in July and have already been in the hospital once for contractions, I was kept overnight. Well today I was looking at my urine results from my appointment today. It showed I have 1+ for urine protein & trace for urine leukocyte esterase. My doctors nurse called me to discuss what it means but I missed the call. Help!! Has anyone else had this? I read it can be a sign of preclampseia!
Avatar n tn As you can probably guess, my blood and urine routine showed borderline ALT levels, high IgE and +1 protein in urine. This was about 4 months after a potential exposure. I had allergies as a teen and young adult, but I can't explain the borderline elevated ALT levels, as I am slim and athletic. I did some research and became concerned about the correlations. Thank for any clarity you can provide.
Avatar f tn I had protein in my unrine once while I was pregnant. Never had it before and never had it again.
Avatar f tn Lol I was like Okay then when my doc tols me I had to do a test she said if there is protein. In my urine they will have top put me on bed rest and Watch baby closely. But my doc doesn't think I have it. Is just everyone had to get the test done.
Avatar f tn my main concern is the fact that protein was showing in my urine for so long, am i right in believing that protein in urine can suggest ovarian cancer.
1973666 tn?1325964688 Why not buy a pack of urine reagent test strips that you can use to test your urine for protein. A pack of 100 strips can be had for not too much money ($12.00 to around $50 depending on the brand). Find them through Google. Then if you see that you do have protein in your urine, you could use the strip as evidence to show your primary doctor that you need a referral to a nephrologist. I like the idea of using strips for testing at different times of day.
