I tested NEGATIVE for chlamydia following a real-time PCR urine analysis. I followed all the procedure correctly (Not urinating before, first drops) but my finger accidentally touched the urine inside the container. Would this invalidate the result?
A couple of weeks ago a routine urine test revealed blood in my urine. I have no notable symptoms other than more frequent urination. A few weeks ago i had a surgical abortion, i was 6 weeks when i had this procedure done. Before i did the procedure i took an at home urine test which was negitive but i knew i was pregnant. the clinic took another urine test which was Neg. so they took a blood test which was Pos.The dr.told me it was kind of early to do the abortion but she would do it anyway. After the abortion i was put on a birth control called sprintec. Now i have a huge concern!

I think it is only natural to be really nervous about a procedure like that but think of it as catherization which is common.
Fentanyl is in the same class as Morphine, however, it is synthetic and does not metabolize like other opiates, ie Vicodin, Morphine, Codeine. The urine test is testing for metabolites, ie norhydrocodone, hydromorphone. It depends on the test that is being used and that the assay cutoff is for that particular test. The test for Fentanyl is specific to look for that drug and a normalized value can be detected usually 3-4 days after.
When the nurse begins the procedure of your urine test she will ask you what time you took your meds and if you have taken anything that has not been prescibed by the doctor.
At this point you need to be totally honest! If you have taken something not prescibed now is the time to speak up. Make sure you are accurate with the times you last took your medications.

plus i get up through the nihgt to pee at least 4-6 times a night and about every 6 months i get a very strong urine smell but after all the test they still say there is nothing worng and my levels are not high enough yet to send me to a speacilist? can you hlp i go to the doctor again in a week is there any other test i can ask them to run? i've already did the 24 hour test also?

Further investigation showed enlarged prostrate pressing on tubes blocking urine coming out of bladder I was immediately cathetered and urine flowed out had the catheter in now 14 weeks and due to have a tarp procedure soon. My question will my kidney function improve? My blood pressure is now normal on blood pressure tablets.
Hi, I had open radical prostate surgery Dec 3, 2008. My urine stream is not what it was pre surgery. My urologists says it will get better but, everything I've read says it should be alot better by now. Your comments are greatly appreciated. One more question,I read that incontinence recovery starts with dry nights(sleeping) then when your able to walk and get up from a chair and stay dry; finally strenuous exercise/working with the ability to not void.
I had a cystoscopy yesterday, and while I must stress that the test itself is no big deal, urination after the test is no trip to the beach. Every time I have passed urine since the test (24 hrs ago already) I have felt stinging in the tip of the penis. I expected this and was prepared for it, and the stinging is not unbearable, but it is unpleasant. How long is that supposed to last?
