I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past.
Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis.
Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.
My question is would NGU have risen any of these values in my urine test? Many of the things the urine test for were infection in my urine but all were normal. I already have HSV1 and my partner swears they have no symptoms of anything. So im guessing HSV2 and syphilis are not likely.
Please advise?
You can have infection that does not show on the standard test of nitrites but with the number of epithelial cells /hpf 5- it is most likely not a clean catch, mid stream urine. I would suggest you redo the urine test and be very careful, it is hard to get a good "sterile" or as sterile as possible urine sample.
More importantly then the UA is the symptoms your experiencing that go along with a
the WBC. That will tell the doctro more about your clinical situation.
The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price.
These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose.
You can get strips that detect less.
The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
catching frequent infections all times, even antibiotic is not effecting. allergy test for IgE AB Penicillium sps is super high, ESR is high, IgM is low. please guide that does this is moving to some serious thing.
I do not know to read my test results. Please help..this is for a urine test. I went tot the emergency room for like flu symptoms and had a temp of 104.1 they took a chest x-ray and confirmed I had pneumonia. I also had some irritation vaginally so they took a urine test. Since I don't have a PCD I was never given the test results. I went today to the lab and got a copy of the results but do not know to read them??? can someone please help???
For several months now, my urine has been having an unbelievably terrible odor. I have read so many posts about people experiencing various pee smells described as popcorn or maple syrup, etc. I am talking about something way disgusting, way beyond any food odors. When I first started noticing it, I blamed it on some medication that I was taking but that has been finished months ago allowing plenty of time for total metabolization from my system.

She then ordered a urine test and shortly after a nurse told me I had some leuks in my urine which meant some kind of infection and they had to send it off to their lab to determine what type and get me on the right medicine.

I don't have any other difficulties with regards to urination like pain,blood etc. I had my urine tested 5 months ago and the results were normal. I again tested recently and the results are below. Could someone please give me some guidance on what could be the reason?

Hello,
White blood cells when present in urine are indicative of urinary tract infection. For this I would suggest you to get urine for culture examination done since a course of antibiotics is needed. Also drink plenty of fluids and water and citric juices like cranberry juice.

A doctor would test your urine and it would show up on the urine testing stick whether you have nitrite in the urine or not. It is very common after having "rampant sex" to experience this. And it is sometimes referred to as the "Honeymoon Syndrome". You still need to get checked out and it is also very important that you drink plenty of water, about 2 litres. Don't overdo the water drinking as this can be just as dangerous as getting dehydrated.
You need a pelvic exam to rule out other causes of burning, and possibly a look into the bladder. If the nitrite pad is positive on the urine dip test, then you probably have a UTI, however if the nitrite pad is negative, that does not rule out a UTI. IC is a chronic disease, and most experts feel you have to have symptoms for at least 3 month with negative urine cultures before the diagnosis can be made.
I still was having constant burning in urethra therefore I went to the doctor and they performed a urine analysis for bacteria. Nitrite in urine negative and leukocyte easterase negative along with other test beside protein. He said I probably damaged my urethra or iritated it and I didn't have any std bacteria in my test. He prescribe 14 days doxycycline. I have read about cpps. Could this be it or could I have a std. I had no visible leaions for herpes either.
