Urine test negative dilute

Common Questions and Answers about Urine test negative dilute

Drinking too much water can dilute your urine, but usually your morning urine is the best to test with. The test may be accurate, but some women don't get positive results as soon as others. A blood test would be the most accurate, so I would contact your doctor if period doesn't come.
definitly have had the same things occur, reading this page calms me quite a bit as im still waiting for the blood test to come back as it is now the weekend, but ok went of b/c december 1st, lmp december 23, had unprotected sex with my serious bf on the 1st of january (ovulating time), did a pregnancy test in january positive, a lil nervous and thought it was soon and faint, waited til february did another it was positive as well, went to the doctor in the afternoon at the end of february on fr
That is when your HCG levels are the highest because your urine has been stored in your body all night. Maybe even get an early pregnancy test (which is probably more sensitive than the regular) but still use first morning urine. I know the tests now a days say you don't have to but I strongly recommend it. Good luck!!
Never use a home test unless the urine is concentrated, especially one that is (essentially) done on day 14 since ovulation. The result simply can't be trusted. Even if it were concentrated urine, at only day 14 it might not be accurate. Good luck with your blood test.
Is it very common to have negative hpts and get a positive blood test? I got my blood test today and I find out the results tomorrow. I've taken several hpts. All negative. Right now I'm 12 days late. I want to have hope, but it seems unlikely. =( Anyone have any words of advice or encouragement?
As you wait until later and later, the things you drink will dilute the urine and it won't give you an accurate test. So yes it's possible to get a negative test after a positive.
Struvite stones form in alkaline urine. You would use medications that acidify the urine hoping they will keep the magnesium ammonium phosphate crystals dissolved and prevent them from precipitating out in the urine. Examples of such medications would be ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and dl-methionine. Some of the other less common types of stones actually form in an acidic urine, so with these, you would want to make the urine more alkaline.
You can get a negative urine test and a positive blood test because HCG (the hormone your body produces when you are pregnant) shows up in the blood earlier then urine. So you can have a very low concentration in your urine, not enough for a urine test to pick up, but a high enough concentration in your blood for a positive. It is just a few days apart though. Also, false negatives on home tests are common, typically due to not using them properly.
Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
Take your next test with first morning urine. Taking it in the afternoon can dilute it and cause a false negative. Good luck.
I did a urine test at a clinic March 17 that was negative. Ok I'm really clue less about sex and the rules of knowing my body. It was only through my panic last month, I learned about ovulation. March 6-8 was the days I was most fertile. So this month 3 days past and I had no period, so today being day 4 I went out to get a hpt. I started bleeding today it was heavy this morning then reduced its flow. Well my anxiety caused me to do the ets anyway. Because Last month I had a short period.
My last day of period was July 9th. The urine test for pregnancy was positive once. Got the blood test, it was negative. Went to ob specialist, the urine test was neg, the blood test was neg. I was experience cramping, not hungry hungry, I felt some movement. Still no period for a whole month, went back to my doctor, we did some test on hormone levels and glucose. I am not obese but im slightly overweight and need to lose 50 lbs. am working on that right now.
or if you drink lots of water then that can dilute the results try to take another test and see but use first morning urine. goodluck and keep us posted.
The instructions say to use first-morning urine for a reason. The hCG in the urine will not register on a test if you have had several large glasses of water in the previous hour, for example. Even if you are pregnant.
how reliable are these std labs? my gyno said urine test is good enough and didn't test me again for it at her office.
Peed on a CBD right before my dr's appointment, didn't drink hardly anything...and my urine test came back negative. My daughter is now 9 1/2 months old. Go back in a week and have them do the urine test again. If you want to feel better about it and have more tests do it again in another day or two. I took at least 10 line tests and 2 digital, only two of which were before the drs visit because I was worried that it was wrong too...but nope!
Tests only pick up a minimum concentration of the pregnancy hormone, hCG, so if you're drinking a bunch to pee to test, you might have urine that is too dilute to detect at this point. That is why the most common suggestion is to wait to use first morning urine since it is usually the most concentrated of the day.
I took an at home pregnancy test when I was two weeks late this past sunday and it was negative although the second line did start to shade in but stoped. I am going to the doctor this friday because I have had a UTI the past two weeks or so (it was the soonest she could get me in). Would a UTI effect the outcome of the test since I am drinking a lot and peeing a lot too? Should I ask the doctor to do a quantitative blood test? Please if you could help that would be great.
That means negative results doesnt rule out protein in urine completely. The 24 hour urine collection is far more reliable. talk to your doctor.
Why there are probably more false negative hcg blood and urine test than your doctor knows?
The other possibility is that your urine was very dilute, but that seems strange if the test was sensitive given the amount of hCG probably in your system. You could also call the 800 number associated with the test and see if the do have a range above which they don't work right.
My period did not come on this month it suppose to be on jan 3 and it still didt come on
In *most* cases, after 2 or 3 days the metabolites from Darvocet have declined to a low enough level that even though they are usually still detectable in that time-frame - the result is considered a negative. Going further out from 3 days it becomes rapidly unlikely that you would test positive (stranger things have happened though).
I know I should have waited for my blood test. But after a 5dt, I thought doing an hpt a day earlier would be OK. Instead, I went through a whole day of thinking, "Why Me?" I had such a positive experience using donor eggs, and we ended up transferring 2 good quality blasts. How could this have all gone wrong? My husband thinks that I drank too much water before my early morning test (which I did guzzle down a 16 oz.
in the morning with the first morning urine. and dont drink water before taking the test because it could dilute the results.
Unfortunately people often read pregnancy tests wrong. So a blood or urine test by your doctor would probably be the best way to go. Or get a different pregnancy test that is easier to read. That being said, no matter how faint a line (unless its to the point of being an imaginary line) it tends to mean a person is pregnant. Testing your urine first thing in the morning may produce a darker line. Good luck!
False negatives are very common (can be caused by how dilute your urine is and the time of day you took the test) and false positives are very rare. Sounds like you are pregnant. As emilyshaw says, you can make an appointment with your dr for some blood work. Best of luck to you.
The urine test is a NAAT type test and is very accurate with a very low false positive rate. But, if the urine collected is too dilute and not the first void of the day, the urine test has a high false negative rate. Based on this, the swab test ,specifically the Gen probe or a culture give the most dependable result (specificity and sensitivity). Take care.
