Does my OBGYN drug test me when she takes my urine regularly ? I know they drop the baby & I when I give birth but do they now ? Do they have to have a concent ?

Honestly it depends on the place. I've never been tested at the dr. I would look up local laws or as your dr. I'm pretty sure most hospitals drug test but I've never had a problem with it. I live in Northern California.

I ran out of it, I took a couple of my mother-in-laws hydrocodone(lortab). I have to take a urine drug screen. Will they be able to tell the difference between the two opiates? I know I should not have taken a script that is not for me but sometimes the pain is almost unbearable!

A basic urinalysis though, they are probably not checking for drugs and it would not have been tested for. However, that you added water (they aren't dumb, if it were that easy, all who use drugs would do this) and they will surely know--- you've just made them suspicious of you.

Really!! I get my urine checked at every visit. They check for uti, trace of diabetics, bacteria in your urine etc. Ask your doc why they don't do urine sample. I believe its important. My last visit urine was sent to the lab to test for sti's gonnereah, clymadia, vaginalitis etc.

I remember answering you in your original post! Just take your medications as they were prescribed and you should be okay. You don't have to change the way you take your medications just because you are having urinalysis testing.

On line the only tests they seem to offer are urine based and her solicitor has specified blood test. I have not and would not touch drugs and want to clear my name and resume access to my children but can not find anywhere that can help. There are laws against patient abandonment but I am not certain how strong those laws hold up under a failed Blood Drug Test. If they apply you can obviously seek a legal remedy but by the time you go through that process it'll probably be months at least. If you have a PCP that would be the first person I would contact, as you call to locate a new PMP. Your PCP may be able to refer you to another PMP but be prepared for some difficult questions.

re prescribed, you will not give any of your medication away and you will not take other peoples medication. If you break the contract or fail a urine test they have the right to stop seeing you. They probably won't see this as an honest mistake because in the contract it says that you will not take another persons medication. All you can do is be honest will them about what happened and hope they will continue to see you.

Yikes, I'm in BC and I didn't realize that it was that bad in QC. My girlfriend kept going into the Doctors (on the last pregnancy) and saying she was sure she was pregnant, she had two neg urine tests at the docs, went in a third time refused to leave until they did another urine test or figured out she was preg another way, anyway this time urine test showed positive - She still wasn't offered a blood test.

So i went to the doctor and asked for some blood and another urine test both showed i was pregnant. My mother in-law asked to grab my HCG level and it was 133, I have no idea how these HCG levels work..i never even knew about them with my first child, But my mother in-law said that 133 is above average for single pregnancy and in average for twins?? She's got me all nervous now..Has anyone else had that level at roughly 4 weeks pregnant and have a single pregnancy?? ..

Don't worry about the silly test. If it's a urine test the medications will show up in your urine, especially the methadone. It has a very long half life. Please reconsider the way you are taking your medication and be honest with your self and the doctors. You will be much better off in the short and long run. good luck.

I took a urine test at the health department and was positive. I'm 8 weeks today and haven't had morning sickness. Only symptoms are tiredness. Is this normal?

Would a standard urine test show HIV or does it have to be a specific test. Went to the urologist today and he said everything was fine but would it show HIV?
