Common Questions and Answers about Urine test kits uk

urine-test

Avatar n tn hi i recently ordered a hiv test kit over the internet from a company called Labpro it came to the uk via malysia, it was a elisa test kit and gave a negative result, how confident should i be of this result?
Avatar m tn Hey i'm from the UK and I bought a home HIV test online. It says that if they are CE approved then they are official. I took the test and it came back negative. I did this first as the clinic was full and I could not get an appointment to be tested however I'm still going to book into a clinic to double check. Is this right to do?
Avatar f tn I have an extreme needle phobia so testing using a blood sample from a syringe or lancet would be out of the question. The test that i am interested in buying uses urine to detect HIV, just wondering whether you guys that are in the know about this could advise me. Many thanks.
Avatar m tn There is only one approved test you can purchase online and that is the home access kit.Manik_45,your information is correct, there are many illegal websites trying to scam people into buying bogus rapid tests online that aren't approved.
Avatar f tn re basically the same, although some women prefer certain brands over others. Usually, the 7-test kits are midstream test, so a little easier to use, while the higher-quantity ones tend to be strips that needs to be dipped in urine, so requiring that you collect it in a cup first. I've used both types and they seemed to work equally well for me. Best of luck this month!
Avatar m tn I see, think I should go & have an actual test done with a GP then. I'm pretty confident that I'm a -ve, but still I just want to be 100% sure. I was avoiding GPs before (I'm just uncomfortable with docs) & think rapid test are good enough... You have just strengthen my resolve to do a proper test . I might as well take all test related to STDs. I know of 2, HIV & syphilis. What other test should I do? Thx a lot for your replies.
Avatar f tn I am wondering what the difference is between a strip test and midstream ovulation test? Is there a difference? is one more accurate?
Avatar m tn Anyone used the labpro home testing kits, advertised on this site? http://www.hivkits.co.uk/ Any feedback?
387168 tn?1214756393 Hi, I used an ovulation testing kit this month. The best way to do this is to pee in the cup then hold the strip in the cup for 10-15 secs (thats wat i did). On CD12 i tested, got a control line but no test line. on CD15 i tested & got both the Control line & test line, and my test line was darker than my control. The test line HAS to be darker than the control line to be a positive for ovulation. If it is fainter than the control line, then its not a positive for ovulation.
Avatar n tn I have been told its for checking to see if you have any glucose in the urine, depending on that you would then need the blood test. Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms.
Avatar m tn A lot of people say get your Adrenals tested, which primarily involves a simple saliva test 4 times a day? I have seen a lot of at home test kits available but according to NY State Law these companies cannot send the kits to us or the results back to residents of NY. I mentioned the cortisol test to my DR but he was unfamiliar with saliva testing and just mentioned the blood test. This is the test for Addisons and is very involved and not too accurate for AF. How can I proceed?
Avatar f tn Home test kits in the UK are banned. It states in the link you provided it is not recommended to use. So the answer is still NO.
Avatar f tn The negative test that you had at 8 weeks is certainly highly reassuring and a very good indication as it is possible to detect the HIV antibodies already at that stage. However current UK guidelines still recommend to have a final test at 12 weeks for it to be considered final and fully conclusive. Having said all that, and speaking out of my own clinical experience, I have never come across anyone testing negative at 8 weeks and then positive at 12 weeks.
Avatar m tn im from the uk but look up bio-lab in the uk as they do mailed test kits, they dna test your hair etc and test what you are definitely lacking that way you know what you really need...
Avatar f tn I kNOW that blood test is more accurate than urine test and can detect pregnancy after 24 from implantation while urine test can give false positive results and false positive may be due to: 1-chemical pregnancy 2-missed reaction time(too long to read) 3-chemical interference from FERTILITY drugs having HCG ,medication like trankilizer phenothiazine, contamination with blood or gross amount of protien, 4-evaporation line, you see faint evaporation line as the urine crosses the test in the test are
