A urine test any time more than 2 days after the last exposure.
Chlamydia: Not a risk from oral sex. But if you insist, or following vaginal or anal sex, a urine test (or anal swab, following receptive anal sex) at least 2 days after the last exposure.
Syphilis: A blood test 6 weeks after the last exposure.
Herpes simplex virus: No testing recommended after oral sex, unless there are symptoms of infection. No risk of HSV-2 from oral sex.
I just got a test result and I'd like to see if anyone can tell what test was used to get this, and how reliable this test might be. I was tested positive for HSV-1 in the US before but when I got tested in Japan I tested positive for both HSV-1 and HSV-2.
m a bit puzzled by your story. Can you say more about your chlamydia test? Urine, urethral swab, or blood? If urine or swab, see if you can learn exactly what test was done -- in particular, did you have a nucleic acid amplification test NAAT)? It is very peculiar for chlamydia to cause symptoms after only 2 days; and when it does cause symptoms, discomfort in the groin is not what I would expect.

On the 13th of December, I went to see a urologist as I had had some UTI-type symptoms for a week or so (I didn't suspect Chlamydia or any STD for that matter at the time, as I have had few sexual partners, and always use condoms - also not a big fan of receiving oral sex).
but i am still worried , cause i donot think japan got herpeselect which produced by usa,maybe they use something else to do the test and misses. and also i read that a small proportion of folks donot prodcued detectable antibodys even after one year , and i am afraid i was one of them.
so how can i get peace of mind. since i live in japan, i have no access to WB.

If you are a woman, get tested for HPV. If you are a man, you cannot be tested for it and must rely on visible warts to be removed and biopsied. Genital warts can appear 6-9 months post exposure. Oral sex usually (but not always) does not pass the infection else we would be in an epidemic since oral sex is so popular these days. There is no FDA approved oral HPV test in the US. If Japan has one, I'd like to know what it is.

What are my symptoms?

About 35 days ago I have had an unprotected sex with a sex worker in Japan and then began to worry about the infection of HIV, I did real time pcr test at 13 days after exposure and 4th generation agab test at 26days and antibody test at 29days, and all these results are negative but I am still worrying because I felt chest distress at 22days after exposure and a lot of influenza symptoms like cough and spit, now the influenza symptoms becomes better but chest distress is still very serious.
I recently got my results back. I saw IgG (EIA ) 99.8%+ 2.0. It was in another language and the doctor could not explain...nor could I understand fully what he was saying.
Can someone tell me what that means? MY test didn't say whether it was type 1 or 2. (My partner was diagnosed for 2 so most likely it's 2.) I just accept that I am positive, but then I am reading and see where I may need to test again to be very very sure due to the 2.0 reading. Help please..
I can't thank you enough for your quick responses. It seems that all variables taken into account there is actually a very real and moderately high chance of getting herpes in this sort of encounter. I really don't know how to handle this. People say the odds are in my favor but I just don't see how. It seems like there are several people that frequent prostitutes and don't get STD's but I just don't know, especially here in Japan where there are so many sailors etc.
This is done by performing a HPV-PCR test. I am not sure if each test also include a southern blot or dot blot test, but these two tests combined are very accurate and can even tell a man what type of HPV he carries.
In addition, we know which men are at high risk of carrying the virus.
So why arent we being tested?
