Avatar n tn You could check to know is she is dumping sugar in her urine. A free test. Have her to tinkle in a cup. Pour it on newspaper and let the paper dry in the sun. When it dries if you see shiny crystals that is sugar. You could buy strips to test for sugar in her urine. If there is sugar present get help and educate yourself. There are people willing to help.
Avatar n tn Hi, Your son needs further evaluation.Trace urine in the blood or microscopic hematuria needs to be assessed. In children, a glomerular ( disease of small kidney units) disease has to be ruled out. Was his blood pressure determined? A 24 hour urine sample collection to check for the presence of protein and casts may be able to help. If your son is currently lethargic and irritable, I suggest that you bring him to the ER. Blood tests may be needed to rule out the presence of infections .
Avatar n tn The commonest one is the reimplantation surgery. In this, the ureter is moved and is placed in the bladder in a way that it gets the muscular support and the reflux is minimal. The ureter is angulated also which doesn’t allow the urine to go back. The other one is the endoscopic surgery in which an endoscope is passed into the urinary bladder and a material is injected close to the place where the ureters open into the bladder.
Avatar f tn its not for an employment screening. i'm involved with children services and i have tests and they test for it in my system. i'm worried that they will try to take my children if i say i'm done taking subs and they still show up. these people are shadey. thanks for your input.
Avatar n tn m not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. Have you had the hypoglycemia test or diabetes test actually done? The symptoms are there, if you haven't done those tests, I'd recommend you get them done right away to ease your concerns. The celiac test can be done as well, but many endocrinologists will recommend to test for diabetes or hypogylcemia first. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I have no insurance and no GP OR GYN. The ER doctor did a urine test for UTI and pregnancy even though I told her I had been taking Macrobid and I had just had sex only four days ago for first time in months. The tests needless to say were negative, she did a wet mount culture for BV and that too was negative. The doctor decided to give me an IM shot of Rocephin and eight 25mg pills of Azithromycin. I waited in ER for 30 min then was let go.
Avatar n tn Currently, the best test for vasovagal syncope is felt to be the Head-Upright Tilt Table Test. However, this particular test is still not readily available in many communities which do not have a children's hospital or pediatric cardiologist. Only your personal physicians can accurately diagnose your child as having vasovagal syncope, but it ought to be a consideration.
454221 tn?1259445739 Took him to a dr. appt. on Wednesday and did a urine test. No UTI and no sugar in his urine. So Dr. thinks he is not a diabetic or prediabetic. Other than that should I worry?
Avatar f tn Blood in the urine can be a nothing but also can be quite significant. The first thing that I do is ask my patients to repeat the urine sample a few times as "mid-stream" urinalyses. Most urine samples are provided as initial voided specimens, i.e., the individual just urinates into the cup from the outset of voiding. A mid-stream involves allowing the first portion of the stream (maybe a third of a cup or so) to go into the toilette, then collecting the sample.
Avatar n tn I was curious about the urine test normal range result as I did not find it in my result sheet or in the Net properly. Ne way, All take care and May Almighty help all to recover from any grave situation.
Avatar n tn Most chemical tests for pregnancy look for the presence of the beta subunit of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine. hCG can be detected in urine after implantation of zygote in the wall of the uterus formed by the union of the sperm & the ovum, which occurs six to twelve days after fertilization. Nowadays highly sensitive pregnancy kits are available which can detect hCG levels at as low as 20 mIU and after 7 days post fertilization.
Avatar n tn sample, as this would be the most reliable in making sure that there truly is blood in your urine (see previous answers about hematuria). Assuming that this was such a collection, I would ask about your voiding (urinating) pattern. Stones would often increase your urinary frequency. As to what your physician is hoping to find, I am not sure. Kidney stone and advanced cancers in your kidney can cause the blood and back pains that are often one sided.
Avatar f tn I took her to the dr but with the urine test they found leukocytes but no nitrates. She looked kind of concerned. She said that my daughter had a yeast infection because of the bubble baths. Her concerned look is what is scaring me. What else could it be? Can a urine test show leukocytes when it is a yeast infection?
Avatar n tn What are her chances of becoming diabetic? Her doctor said hypoglycemia sometimes precedes diabetes in children. Is is possible to "grow out of" hypoglycemia? If so, what are the chances of this happening?
Avatar f tn should be concerned if its nly higher than 3-4..but im worrying about the presenc of organism in urine..in the report they hvnt indicated any value..just a plus sign..so should I get a urine culture done to get treated?
Avatar n tn Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.
Avatar m tn Hello, Pus cells are indicative of infection while albumin in the urine represents protein in urine or proteinuria. It can happen due to renal causes or other causes like infections, sarcoidosis, multiple myeloma, and SLE. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn Don't worry about the silly test. If it's a urine test the medications will show up in your urine, especially the methadone. It has a very long half life. Please reconsider the way you are taking your medication and be honest with your self and the doctors. You will be much better off in the short and long run. good luck.
Avatar m tn s licence renewal medical test. They take a urine sample , dip a test strip in it and for the last 3 exams have told me I have blood in my urine. Two times I went to my doctor and he sent me to a lab and both times the results were negative. My doctor does physical & PSA test for prostate every 2 years and so far every thing is normal. The 3rd time the clinic said I have blood my doctor said he will ignore it.
Avatar f tn Had old 10 mg of opana from script 2 yrs ago left over when switched pain has been pretty bad so I took them in place of my oxycodone for a few days no help. Will they show up on a urine test 5 days after I stopped taking them?
Avatar n tn When they test for M'done in urine (at least on a clinic) they test for it's metabolite (called EDDP for short) & it's ratio to creatinine levels, There is a drug called Bentyl (Dicycloverine) prescribed for IBS that can potentially cause a false positive. There may be others too. It also depends on how good the lab is that is doing the testing. Sometimes there's sloppy work or cross-contamination, particularly in the 'collection' phase. I'd request a retest.
