Avatar f tn So i got diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis and im in the hospital and i just masturbated in the bathroom. Every morning i get a urine and blood test, when testing my urine they check for myoglobin and check my red blood cell count. My question is if i pee about 3-4 times an hour like i do now will the sperm show up in my urine test tomorrow and if so is there anything they test for that will be off enough to where they question it? And if so should i tell them i masturbated?
Avatar n tn Symptoms of rhabdomyolysis include, but may not be limited to, muscle pain, weakness, tenderness, fever, dark urine, nausea, and vomiting.
Avatar f tn What will happen if an athlete with Rhabdomyolysis continues to play his sport? What will happen in the long run?
Avatar n tn This intense pain is a symptom of rhabdomyolysis,a rare condition that causes muscle cells to break down. This does not make your muscle tissue "mushy", it just causes cells t breakdown. The most common signs and symptoms of rhabdomyolysis include: * Severe muscle aching throughout the entire body * Muscle weakness * Dark or cola-colored urine These symptoms usually occur in the first 90 days of treatment and happen in less than 1% of those taking Lipitor.
Avatar f tn If it was normal then u do not have rhabdomylosis, which is the side effect of simvastatin which your doctor was looking for. He has done the correct test and the result was negative. Return to doctor for further investigation of these muscle aches.
1798872 tn?1346164585 Doc i spent the weekend in the heart care of a hosp.i have had rhabdomyolysis in the past,in the e.r. after blood work the doctor said i had a heartattack, when i got to my room a different doctor said it was"nt a heartattack it was due to my rhabdomyolysis, any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I am obviously not in a position to give a diagnosis in this forum, but I imagine that it is highly unlikely that you have rhabdomyolysis if you currently feel well, have no significant muscle discomfort, and have normal-appearing urine. Take care.
1385464 tn?1293443504 What would cause rhabdomyolysis if I contracted it somehow earlier this year but was NOT in the general categories that usually cause it? (like drug use, being still for a long period of time, etc) My creatine kinase levels STILL-months later-rise and fall. I don't get it. Does anyone have an answer? Not sure if I should categorize this in rare diseases or autoimmune disorders...
Avatar n tn I was admitted after extreme pain throughout my muscles, and discolored urine led my dr to send me to the ER for tests. Those tests showed that my CPK levels exceeded 135,000 and i was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis. All other tests did not reveal the cause of the Rhabdomyolysis but no-one at the hospital seemed to have ever heard of cpk levels this high. My searches on the internet have also not revealed any levels nearing this. I am now down to 4000 (and hopefully dropping).
Avatar m tn Well, I'll return for a test in a month or so, the symptoms are too strange to ignore and I'm not convinced by a six week test. I have a strong feeling I have Rhabdomyolysis, as my blood pressure is high, legs ache, tongue is metallic and urine is dark and smells fruity. Rhabdomyolysis can be caused by the inflammatory effects of HIV, among other things.
Avatar m tn No brown or red urine, just normal yellow due to slight dehydration Not used drugs for over 25 years (even then only joints) No medications - Rarely have had in the past Current under stress (out of work for 18 months after being senior exec for 15 years) The out of work bit is more stressful than the working bit :)
Avatar f tn had not previously explained the seriousness of risks of rhabdomyolysis for patients taking the highest dose of Zocor. Pharmaceutical companies have a duty to carefully research every drug for possible risks and report any negative side effects to patients, doctors and the FDA. However, Zocor's label did not explain the full extent of the adverse side effects associated with the cholesterol medication.
Avatar f tn However, patients, particularly those with risk factors for statin-induced myopathy, should be warned of the potential for rhabdomyolysis and told to report immediately any muscle pain, muscle weakness or cramps, or dark urine. If rhabdomyolysis is suspected, the drug should be stopped immediately, and appropriate medical management should be instituted as well as a work-up of predisposing risk factors.
Avatar m tn After that she get diagnose rhabdomyolysis and she take test for antidsDNA, antiCCP, anti-U1-snRNP, c-ANCA, ACL-IgG, ACA, antiSel-70, antihistoneab, all of this negative. She is negative also on Hepatit A and C. At the moment she is waiting for results for autoimmune markers. EMG (neurology) on legs and arms is ok. Please if you can help me with diagnostic her diagnose, because she goes to doctors and make all these tests for 4mounts but no results, her GOT and GPT increase more and more.
Avatar f tn I went to my GP and he did a blood test and my ck was around 12000 so I went to the ER again the next day and they did another blood test in which my ck was 22000 but my urine was fine. I was put on iv again and got better within 8-9 days. I did another blood test and my ck was back to normal and nothing else was abnormal. This was around August 31st. For the next month i felt fine and did several blood tests in which everything came back normal.
Avatar n tn Very rarely, statins can cause life-threatening muscle damage called rhabdomyolysis (about one case for every 15 million prescriptions). Rhabdomyolysis can cause liver damage, kidney failure and death. Rhabdomyolysis can occur when statins are used in combination with certain other drugs. Liver damage Occasionally, statin use could cause your liver to increase its production of enzymes. If the increase is only mild, you can continue to take the drug.
Avatar m tn I'm a 29year old female with no prior history of lung or heart disorders. I've never smoked. I've always been extremely athletic. Before April 2010, I would work out 4 hrs a day doing varies training regiments. I would run over 20miles/week plus train muay thai and rock climb. I'm 5'6" and I've always been around 130-135lbs. In April 2010, I was unable to walk to the kitchen w/SOB (gain 20lbs), chest pains, dizzy, HR <46 and fatigue.
976897 tn?1379167602 Yes, I think my doctor is regarding me as ignorant because I don't want to take his advice to go on statins. I've had one blood test that was marginally high on total cholesterol and LDL. I wanted to try nonpharmaceutical methods to get it down. He didn't even want to bother with anything except statins. He cited the above study to me. I asked to be retested to see if the first test was a fluke.
Avatar n tn Has anyone seen similar level of CK in kids? If so - what was the driving factor? Our kid is behaving normally otherwise - appetite, urine / etc.. We are obviously very worried and waiting for the tests; but i am also worried whether we need to do something in the very short term before the test results come. thanks, http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn My husband has High Cholesterol. They put him on Zocor four years ago. Before the Zocor there was NOTHING wrong with him but the cholesterol. He has now tested positive for kidney failure three years in a row and it has been getting worse, this past year his liver started showing distress. He went off Zocor and magically all his numbers got much better (from stage 3 to stage 2). So they put him on Lipitor.
1664023 tn?1302961166 I have recently started taking Lyrica for Diabetic Neuropathy, I am on 300mg/day. I am wondering if anyone else that takes this experiences stiff joints or achy muscles??
Avatar f tn My 19 yr. old son was hospitalized this year for Rhabdomyolysis after a workout at the gym. He used the same amount of weights as he had in the past. He is 5’7’, 140 pounds. His CPK was >100,000, but returned to normal 4 weeks later. He had an EMG study 4 months later, which showed a “systemic muscle disease; some kind of myopathy.” A month later he had a muscle biopsy, which was sent to two labs, Athena and a large university hospital in our area.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your response. She has since been diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis and was admitted into the hospital for 12 days while monitoring cpk enzyme levels that had increased to 13,000. Every test imaginable was conducted all coming back fine. She was diacharged with a steroid treatment but all the soreness symptoms came back once the medication was done. Cpk enzyme levels increased to 3400. Still no answers.
Avatar m tn My creatine kinase total came back at 287 on a blood test, I had fasted for over 11 hours, but I did work out the day before and I had a hamstring muscle pull at the time of the est and was under going physical therapy. Should I be concerned with the number, I did have a nuclear stress test in the last 2 years.
