In November 2012 I had a one night stand with a 28 year old Japanese women while I was on Vacation. I do not know her status. The condom broke during sex and unprotected vaginal sex happened for about 5 minutes. I was scared so I waited for testing. I tested at exactly the 7 week point during a medical exam for a life insurance policy from American General. I don't know which test were done. The paper they gave said the would either test my blood or body fluids.

I have a blood draw and urine sample tomorrow for my life insurance evaluation. Do I, or don't I take my thyroid medication? Also, I took my xanax for the neck swelling last night and will not do that tonight, but will it still show in tomorrow's urine sample? Do they even test that way?

Coincidentally, that's how I was diagnosed...through a renewal of a life insurance policy blood test in 2008. They declined my policy of $250k with a fixed premium for 10 years because of HCV, but they put me on another plan that increases every year. I had to drop from $250k to $100k in order to afford the premiums. Every February, the premium gets bumped up. And I believe after 2018, the premium will double to put it in the $200 a month range.

I have to get a life insurance policy on myself.....im a young 29yo.....ok heres my quest......they are gonna take blood and urine tests for ciggartettes and drugs..... will the vics be out of my system already? i am entering day 11.....should i wait longer to get the policy and testing?

so my GF got a blood test for life insurace it will be one month ago on thursday. she has been promicuois in the past and so have i. if she has not heard anything back and is signing papers today with her insurance guy she obvously dosnt have HIV or hep or anything correct?? i dont want to ask her because i dont want to know that i am nervous. any comment would be appreciated.

Hi, I have made changes to my life insurance policy and they need to come do a physical and blood tests on me. I recentley came off of hydrocodone and am just concerned if it will be picked up on the test. How long does it take to not show up? If anyone has any insight to this its greatly appreciated. Hopefully it is Maintaining SVR Status for 2 years after completing tx. It’s been over 2 years for me. Now I have an incentive to go back for my PCR. I never went back after my 6th Month.

A few years back I applied for Life Insurance. I was turned down due to having a pre-existing condition, "inactive" MS although that isn't the way they saw it! ha ha Just wondering if anyone here has been deemed ineligible for Life Insurance due to the diagnosis of MS even though MS has been deemed as non-life threatening?

I got tested for HIV for life insurance. What would happen if they detected the HIV virus?

I've been going to a pain clinic for 2 years,for the last 5 times I have been given a urine tast .I've nothing to hide,but I had to pay 437.00 for the last test.As I am on disability and it is getting expensive.Last time I had to go in for a stimulator check they wanted me to take another urine test.I think that they are ripping me off.

Child support is something you get if he is alive, life insurance is for in case he dies. not sure what you mean when you say you want life insurance because child support wouldn't be much? Thats kind of an alarming statement. I dont believe you can get it without his knowing s nd him signing. I also think it would be shady of you to do behind his back. If you are willing to pay the premium I dont see why he wouldn't agree.

I have no idea what your question is. Of course people with HIV can get life insurance. They may pay a little more for the premiums, but that's about it. Most life insurance policies will require an HIV test before underwriting the policy.

My doctor has an assistant, not a nurse, who assists her with checking patient vitals, etc. the assistant makes frequent demands for a urine test...4 in the last 8 months which seem excessive to me. She gets quite testy if I am unable to comply and has left an unpleasant message on my phone once. Today she brought me a full paper cup of water and insisted I drink it. Am I legally required to submit to these tests? Is there a certain number of urine tests required per year?

The last thing my insurance did before issuing Harvoni coverage was ask for urine test. The very 1st part of treatment for liver disease should be to be totally clean and live a healthy life style. No medicine will work without 1st doing that. Harvoni is very expensive and the insurance companies do not like to spend money.

Larry, Thanks for writing. So let me get this straight. There was protien in your urine from a 24 hour test. You got your blood sugar more in control as well as blood pressure and cholesterol by exercising, etc.? You now take an ACE inhibitor and there are no traces of protien in your urine? If that's the case it gives me hope. My blood pressure is fine as well as my cholesterol. My Doctor has not ordered a 24 hour urine.

But from what I do know, you will not be able to get life insurance. They test for HCV antibodies, and antibodies will stay in your blood even if you will clear the virus.

My Suboxone doctor never asked for a urine test or suggested therapy. He just kept me coming back for those $260 15 minute visits for 7 years. I am curious if the cash only Suboxone doctors are not drug pushers in disguise? Any MD can become a Suboxone doctor with an 8 hour course...

I would not have a problem doing a drug test, they have never asked, and been for clinical visits and heard them ask other patients for a urine sample, so confused.

So i applied for life insurance and obviously told about chiari in the application.... And i was refused They only insure people who are 12 month post op.... Y... I know i am not about to drop dead from chiari any time soon.... But ppl can go any time and people around me aren't well to do so won't be able to pay for a funeral... Can a person with hep c purchase life insurance? As there is no cure for it...... Also, made a prior post re: on Medicare, Social Security Disability.....but work a few hours a month from home. Want to get to the point where I can purchase Medical Assistance for workers w/disabilities which would make the interferon very affordable (small copay) as opposed to the 8000.00 for the first month that I was quoted by my Medicare part d (Rx insurance) provider.....

Blood test is the way to go not urine as you look for the antibodies and if really positive you should be positive for a while, but I doubt you have/had syphilis.
