I am always seeing this stuff about leaky gut and/or gluten causing hashimotos. I am kind of sick of it because it is saying they have a solution but no doctors ever mention it and gluten sensitivity is not a test they do when you have hashis.
This question is for goolara and gimel. Do you believe hashis is caused by gluten or leakygut. Even if the patient has super high tpo antibodes?
Bone broth is recommended for leaky gut because of its collagen content, but collagen powder would give a more concentrated dose of the same thing.
Another good supplement is slippery elm which helps create a mucosal lining in the gut so that candida and other can't stick to the walls (this is what leads to leaky gut).
Anyway, I've been collagen powder with bone broth for 4-5 days now. Reactions seem to be lessening, will keep you updated.
I found out that by having a compromised Gut you could end up with food intolerance which lead to inflammation in the entire body, gut and throat....creating acid reflux. I found ThinkRite system that believed in Leaky Gut and offered blood testing for food intolerance and I took their blood test. It came out positive finding I had several foods of which I was intolerant to.
I just did an intestianl permeability test for Leaky Gut Syndrome. It came back as a severe case. I am going to work with a clinical nutrionist, but I also want to see a gastroeterologist. Does anyone know anything more about testing for this and treatment? I'd like to combine the nutrion with western medicne, but don't know if they even recognize it as anything. Any info would help.

m going to schedule an appt. with my dr. to test for leaky gut. I will not eat processed foods unless it is gluten free popcorn or rice cakes (if i have cravings). I hope that this is what it is. I really want my life and sanity back. My stomach does hurt a bit today I don't know if there is any connection.

The leaky gut eventually leads to the thyroid disease. Stress can also play a huge factor, and nothing is more stressful than childbirth!
If you test positive for Hashimoto's, I strongly suggest a good detox of the gut and eliminating gluten from your diet. Read this book for further information. The BEST Hashimoto's book out there: www.thyroidbook.

With the little information only about your symptoms,
I would say that you may be suffering from gut dysbiosis, a condition in which an intestinal imbalance takes place where harmful bacteria cannot be controlled by the healthy bacteria. Common causes are antibiotics, alcohol consumption, prolonged stress, yeast overgrowth (candida), parasitic infections etc.
Leaky Gut Syndrome or intestinal permeability is a diagnosis NOT taught in medical schools-or at least it was not in my days and I doubt it is now - and it takes a very simply urine test to verify! No blood test will verify Leaky Gut Syndrome, which can on its own destroy your health.
So please research these aforementioned conditions including the overarching GAPS (the Gut And Psychology Syndrome) and see how it may apply in your current health situation.
ve read it seems like this would indicate that I have leaky gut syndrome, as bromelain stops allergic inflammation, etc which would help leaky gut syndrome?
As having celiac on top of these three years of parasitic infection would really suck. Is it possible that bromelain would cause me to feel so dramatically better in a short time frame if I had celiac?
