500419 tn?1220124743 I would have an ultrasound done at the very least and since you are pregnant I would also have a urine test done in case there is an infection.
Avatar n tn This type of azotemia occurs due to obstruction to renal outflow due to kidney stones, ureter and bladder stones, vesicoureteral reflux, strictures, and any other conditions that result in stasis of urine in the kidney. The cause of the problem will need to be identified and treated and prognosis is good if the derangement of kidney function is corrected early. If untreated for a longer period, the damage resulting in renal impairment can become permanent.

Avatar f tn My question is do any of you see a pain management dr for pain related to kidney stones? Ive gotten stones for the last 18 years but they used to come about anywhere from once or twice a year with one 3 year gap of no stones which was heavenly. Now since novemeber they seem to forming rapidly. Is this any indication that this may continue to be a frequent problem or could this just be a flukish year? My urologist doesn't seem to have any real idea so i was looking for personal experiences.
Avatar m tn Hi hope this gets to u. I had Renal Colic which lasted about 30hrs,pain but amazing pelvic pressure, constant peeing, blood in the water and small clots on whiping. I know l passed a stone or stones as at one stage on peeing l felt really strong contracting like feeings in my uretha and looked down to see brown stains/streaks in the toilet. Avatar n tn Erythorcytes :10 - 15 seen, littlehigher, Kidney function test, PSA test is normal, kidney stone test negative.. Doctor examined and said no problem of prostrate. He has pain while passing urine and gets tired after passing urine. WHat might be the cause for RCB to be seen in the Urine?
Avatar f tn You may also need 24 hours urine test, random protein to creatinine ratio to check the kidney status and a serum and urine protein electrophoresis test to determine which proteins are being excreted and in what quantities. Sometimes, some proteins will appear in the urine if the levels of protein in blood become high, even when the kidney is functioning properly. I suggest you to discuss these investigations with your urologist and get them done. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

1962386 tn?1325356133 I am 17 years old and for the past 3 years ive had every test done possible to me to determine the reason for severe pain in the kidney area and blood in my urine. I had a urinalysis and they determined that the blood was coming from each kidney and there where no other abnormalities. They tell me that it can be one of two things, loin pain syndrome of the kidneys or berger's disease.
Avatar f tn I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either.
192055 tn?1263555537 4 months ago, I had severe pain in my midback for two weeks (Both L and R kidney). After I explained all the symptoms to my sister, she told me that it sounded like I have kidney stones which she has had before... also my mother, grandmother, and G grandmother, etc. I went to the hospital... urinalysis showed that I had level 1 blood in my urine (just a little blood). Doc ordered me a CT scan... scan was normal, no kidney stones.
192055 tn?1263555537 and request (tell them) that you want a complete renal ultrasound, also ask for a 24 hour urine test for protein levels and white blood count levels, with creatine. A blood test would also be very helpful for kidney function.. So far I have had pain in my right side...no blood yet. I am making appts. with a nephrologist and a urologist for a wrap up on what I am supposed to do next. Also drink alot of water at least 6-8 glasses a day. Good Luck.
18533109 tn?1465640552 Get It but ,Usually, an imaging test and an analysis of urine are done to diagnose stones. Tiny stones may cause no symptoms, but larger stones can cause pain in the area between the ribs and hips in the back. Sometimes stone formation can be prevented by changing the diet or increasing fluid intake.
11610581 tn?1419814808 If they did a urinealysis and found that your urine was clear (your words) then they probably meant that you had no blood in your urine and therefore you did not have a kidney stone. Usually with a kidney stone, although many times you can't see it with your naked eye, there will be blood in your urine. That is probably why they didn't do a Cat Scan, as they felt there wasn't a kidney stone causing your pain and problem.
Avatar f tn Blood in urine is a sign of a really bad bladder infection or kidney stones..I had kidney stones with my first and never peed blood..got kidney stones again this pregnancy was peeing blood they said bladder infection but I ended up in hospital 3 days later with kidney stone attack so I either had both or was trying to pass stones..I would call my doctor so they can get a urine sample while you are peeing the blood out..
Avatar f tn My 16 year daughter has been suffering from kidney stones for the last 3 years. I was just talking to a friend who mentioned to me that she knew someone who had suffered for many years w/ kidney stones and they determined that his thyroid wasn't functioning properly and they removed it; he hasn't had any problems since. My daughter's thyroid function is also be watched by our family doctor, but totally unrelated to the kidney stones.
Avatar n tn calcium oxalate stones, struvite stones, uric acid stones or cystine stones. Potassium citrate is used for the treatment of stones. Treatment modes include oral medicines, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithrotripsy (ESWL), uteroscopic stone removal and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Please discuss these treatment options with your urologist. Also take less calcium and oxalate rich foods and supplements like dairy products, colas, chocolate, peanuts, leafy vegetables, and tea. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn They can do Utererscopy or URS on stones still in the kidney... but, kidney stones have to be in the urine collecting part of the kidney, the parenchyma to be removed... other than if stuck in the ureter, bladder, and the junctions from kidney to ureter and the other one. I can't remember all of this. This is an intracorporal procedure... the source to break up the stone is inside the kidney. A utererscope is used with various attachments.
Avatar f tn Kidney stones can cause hematiria (blood in your urine). In February I underwent two surgeries to get rid of 10 stones. Stones sitting in your kidney can cause kidney infections. Your best bet is to see the urologist and take care of those stones. Good luck to you!
