Avatar f tn I would not have a problem doing a drug test, they have never asked, and been for clinical visits and heard them ask other patients for a urine sample, so confused.
Avatar m tn Recently tested positive for the FISH-Urine test. I have had surgerys, radiation, chemo for bladder cancer.spanning 2000 - 2005. Apparently this test indicates that I am at high risk for recurrence of bladder cancer. Is there a time span in which one would expect a recurrence? Are there any alternative natural products that may help prevent a recurrence or treat bladder cancer?
Avatar f tn Ok so I went into have surgery and they did a urine test and it came back positive then they did blood work and it came back positive but when I got home I took the home pregnancy test and they it said negative. What should I do?
Avatar n tn Hi I had a urine test and everything came back fine except my blood in urine score was 2+. My dr wants to test again in a month. She wasn't too concerned however I am terrified because everything online indicates bladder cancer. Any advice you can offer? Does blood always mean cancer? I am in menopause at 46 so it's not menstruation. Thank you.
Avatar m tn Hi, I don’t think you need to worry at all since you haven’t had the hematuria (blood in urine) for the past so long. The cancer of the kidney usually doesn’t present with hematuria. The red colored urine can be due to a number of causes like use of certain drugs etc. I don’t think you need to worry at all and go in for any other tests for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn m waiting for test results taken today (urine sample) but for the last 3 days I have had blood in my urine. No pain when passing urine apart from a little discomfort in my lower abdomen. But each time I go there's a lot of white filament/floaters (some red (blood clots?)) in it. These floaters I have noticed in my urine as dull white/grey for several months & there would only be a small amount during those months at each time.
1079218 tn?1297028844 Okay, I'm beginning to get really upset with my urologist as she doesn't seem to think I should be as fearful as I am or as worried as I am about still having blood in my urine without a UTI or Kidney Infection. This has been going on for years now & she has performed many tests but apparently she doesn't keep very good notes in my file as I'm a US Vet & she's only on staff once a month for a tax write off I think.
3149845 tn?1506627771 I went to the uro yesterday and did an ultra sound and said all the plumbing tubes are ok and said i should see a kidney doc for follow up. Also found a trace of blood in my urine. Said is common but is sending the sample for cancer bladder testing. Can you tell me more about the muscle injury as did some pretty heavy lifting that we. Had a yard work honey do list with cinder blocks and heavy plant moving.
Avatar f tn I am assuming his urologist gave him what is known as the FISH Test, which measures the presence of cancer cells in the urine. The problem is the test does not tell you where the cells are from. That is why they have to do all this testing. Their assumption is, since he has had bladder cancer, the cells are from somewhere in the urinary tract system. This could lead to a whole lot of testing.
Avatar m tn can PCA3 test results be false positive if the urine sample was not collected as dictated by the attentive 3 stroke procedure. With normal DRE, PSA under 4, moderate urinary difficulties, and the symptoms manageable with just one 5mg of Hytrin a day, do I really need to go for biopsy? Hstory: I am 65 years old with diabetes and mild BPH symptoms for the past 18 years.
Avatar n tn I visited my family doctor and she suggested blood test, urine test and ultra sound. after these tests, she felt that it could be uretritis as she did not see any specific serious problem.I underwent 10 days of antibiotic course during March 08. To let you know, my urine test identified blood in urine. But when I gave blood sample, I didnot had any pain or saw any of such symptom.
Avatar n tn Recently he had his office cystoscopy (for the 1st time-previously in hospital) and his urine tested positive for BC. Doctor sent him for Cat scan that was negative, but FISH test came back positive. Urolgist wants to wait til August to do custoscopy in hospital. He says waiting is preferable-any comments or views on this???
129311 tn?1266346822 sorry to say, but yes, that is a rise that's cause for alert. Maybe it's benign, BPH, they call it, hummm, that fast of a rise I'm betting it is BPH....but I'm guessing here. They'll probably give him Cipro to see if that works, but Bactrim is better, if he has an older doctor they'll give him Bactrim, it's a sulfur drug and it's great, but it's been around forever, new docs think all the old stuff doesn't work ~ ya know what I mean?
Avatar m tn Hes using the 5h1aa urine test to test to see if you have a neuroendocrine cancer of the adrenal gland. IF you do RUN don't walk to the nearest specialist. That won't be hard as there are only like 6 in the whole country! The other most important thing to do is get over to ****.ORG and join the carcinoid (neuroendocrine) forum as there are 100's of experts and one of the 6 aforementioned Specialists in this country, they will greatly extend your life and may be save it.
Avatar f tn I have heard about this CA125 and from reading the post it is not a good marker for OC, my question is this- Is the CA125 test only used for OC or is it used if there is problems in the bladder, kidneys or liver? I heard it called a tumor marker, does this mean a tumor is present somewhere in the pelvic area but may not be in the gyn. parts? I'm confused about this test and what it looks for.
Avatar n tn She often has blood in her urine, her urologist believes due to the stent. She had been on Avastin for about 6 months and her oncologist decided about a month ago to take her off due to high protein in her urine. Her urologist thinks the urine test could be skewed too much by the blood, and the protein levels in her blood are acceptable. My question is: are there any other tests to assess how the Avastin is effecting her kidneys?
Avatar n tn ) maybe you should ask your DR to do a cancer marker test...CA19-9. It will show up in your blood if the cancer is big enough to start shedding cells. It wouldn't hurt to talk with him about it. Oh and one more thing....Dark urine can be caused from several things including gallstones or kidney infections. Good luck, lets us know how it turns out.
Avatar f tn Cancer comes about when the immune system has been pulled down by these endocrine disrupting chemicals that leach out of these plastics such as Polypropylene. They use urine samples for this test which is quite expensive but will be worth the money.
Avatar m tn In 2007, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, via a FISH urine test. A biopsy of the bladder tissue was done in a bid to confirm or refute the diagnosis. The result of the biopsy was negative; however, every time the FISH urine test was repeated, it showed cancer cells associated with the bladder. I asked for treatment, but was told that BECAUSE the location of the cancer was not established, treatment could not be offered. Instead, I submitted to a cystoscopy every six months.

Avatar n tn A Urovysion urine test is a DNA test and takes about 7 days to get an answer and the answer is only two things Cancer or Not Cancer ....... bladder cancer is what it looks for. An IVP w/constrast X-ray will look @ the entire system and the CT Scan w/o constrast will show kidney stones. The test was covered fully by my insurance. Bottom line for me. They found kidney stones moving around in my kidneys which were chaning the cells and causing the blood.
Avatar m tn I'm 22 y.o. I've been urinating frequently in the past 2-3 years as far as I can remember (possibly longer than that). But I also noticed that I only tend do to that when I drink excessively compared to other people, so there are days where I urinate normally (which are usually the day where I drink less water).
