Avatar f tn I've gone to the doctor for a urine test, he says there was nothing they found -- no UTI (I thought I had one). Then I went to get an abdominal echo to check if there was anything wrong in the liver and kidneys -- doctor said those looked fine too. I've been drinking plenty of water, yet my urine has been dark for weeks still. Dark yellow color. I've had slight lower back pains on one side, but I can't tell if that's because my period is coming or a related symptom.
Avatar f tn The possibility of a cold med that contains ephedra or a similar product can very infrequently cause a false positive. Have you taken any coke in any form for awhile? Almost impossible to find pure coke unless you have a connect at Mallincrodt these days........ And most has a bit of amphetamine (or worse...) in it to provide a cheap boost to the affect................ And of course, just about all the ADD/ADHD meds are amphetamine of one type or another if you have taken any of these......
Avatar n tn I know that I am suppose to test again in 6 weeks. When I test again in 6 weeks, should I ask for a more specific test?
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Adderall XR 30 mg. I stopped taking it because I did not want to report it on my pre-employment physical. When I got to my appointment many forms kept asking me about it and I wanted to be honest so I reported it. I have to get a doctors note and that is ok. However now I am really worried because I am afraid it won't show up on my urine test.
Avatar m tn Your probation officer should know what medications you are on. Yes, Adderall is stimulant based, its a methamphetamine. You can look it up online to get the information. You should have a doctors letter stating that you are on the adderall or have your doctor change you to Stratterra which is a non-stimulant treatment for add/adhd, especially in adults. I wouldn't be too worried, but if you don't want to test positive all the time you might want to try something else.
Avatar f tn anyway, as I am getting older the ADHD is worse than ever and has been affecting my job and my life, so I had talked to my PCP and she prescribed me adderal. it has changed my life! today I had a random urine test at PM and gladly obliged as I take my meds as prescribed. when I got home it hit me, I will probably test positive for amphetamines from my adderal and I never told my PM dr about the new prescription from my PCP. I never even thought about it or that it mattered.
Avatar m tn My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.
Avatar m tn I was then required to take a urine drug test for employment at a lab called Quest Diagnostics the following Friday after taking the last 40 mg Vyvanse pill (approx. six days later). Should I be worried about it being detected in the urine drug test? Also, I took a multi-vitamin pill containing 5 mg of Riboflavin, among other vitamins, which I've read may cause a drug test to show positive. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn hi his wetting is all day i took him to gp to test his urine and all is clear and we were told its the side affect from his new medication risperidol so talked with his specialist and he has taken him off of it and is going to put him back on methylphenidate
Avatar n tn I watched a Lifetime segment about a new device, called the Quotient ADHD System, which can objectively test for ADHD by measuring motion and attention parameters in children and adults. Has anyone heard of this device? Here is a link to the video http://bit.

6658361 tn?1384717351 If your question is do they test for adhd in new borns, the answer is no. The only test I know of is a brain scan - which is expensive and not something that you would want to put a young child through. Furtermore, I am not sure how accurate it is. You do have reasons for concern since ADHD is hereditary. But, if neither your or his dad have it, your chances would go down.
Avatar f tn Yes, the little one could have ADHD. It certainly is an inherited disorder for many - but not all kids. But, i have had kids in the classroom who have ADHD and their brother or sister did not. So it certainly is not guaranteed. By the way, I have seen the changes in how ADHD is treated over the years. Having spent almost 40 years in the classroom. It is being treated much better now then it was.
Avatar m tn You will certainly get a positive test for stimulants. However, from what I understand, if you have a perscription - it should not be a problem due to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. But, I would certainly contact your HR department and find out their policy. A decent link here if you have not already seen it - http://prescription-drug.addictionblog.org/does-ritalin-show-up-on-a-drug-test/ Hope this helps.

5757880 tn?1395578022 (In May the school tested and qualified him for an IEP) Well, he is at a three-tier diagnosis. (1) ADHD (Combined Type), (2) Generalized Anxiety Disorder and (3) R/O of Autism Disorder. Mind you, the doctor cannot test my son for Autism because the medical community in my area still follows the DSM-4 and the school system follows DSM-5, so they informed me to ask the school to test him in his 2nd semester.
Avatar f tn My doctor has an assistant, not a nurse, who assists her with checking patient vitals, etc. the assistant makes frequent demands for a urine test...4 in the last 8 months which seem excessive to me. She gets quite testy if I am unable to comply and has left an unpleasant message on my phone once. Today she brought me a full paper cup of water and insisted I drink it. Am I legally required to submit to these tests? Is there a certain number of urine tests required per year?
Avatar n tn Sometimes ADHD can be solved with only this. You need a good Neuropsychologist here for the Tourettes/ADHD. They are the brain chemical experts. Not a Neurologist. Insist on an MRI w/ your Neurologist though!
Avatar m tn In 2020 my Glucose level (from a COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL, done for a routine physical) was 91 mg/dL, last month it was 105 mg/dL. The test mentions that a normal range is 65 - 99 mg/dL. Should I stop using nicotine gum to mitigate any risk to insulin function? This article states that nicotine gum decreases your body's insulin effectiveness... am I reading that right? Does this mean I am at a greater risk of developing diabetes if I use nicotine gum at the low dosages I am?
Avatar f tn My son is a sophomore in high school, and has been struggling with his ADHD (and grades) since 7th grade. We got him tested in 6th grade, and his tests came back positive for ADHD (which explains the constant drumming of his fingers, fidgeting in his seat, and tapping his feet). After trying different medication, he entered middle school in 7th grade and did great academically, bringing home all A's and B's!!
Avatar f tn With out doing the work and the child suffers because of it.Because a lot of the drugs they use for add and adhd and even bipolar can cause Seizures. hope this helps .
