Avatar f tn These are the results of my urine test. Some of the values are a bit high, can you provide me more infos on them? Thanks. Specific gravity - 1.
Avatar f tn Some drugs (such as rifampin) will color urine (rifampin orange, for example), and abnormally colored urine will give false readings on the dipstick labs, which rely on color for their interpretation. Transparency: Turbid Urine transparency (turbidity). Urine normally is clear. Semen, mucus, and lipid may cause turbidity in normal urine. Increased numbers of cells, crystals, casts, or organisms can increase the turbidity of urine in disease conditions.
Avatar m tn a yr ago I had urethral sling surgery. Since then, blood shows up in my urine tests. Is this normal? A cytology was done -Final Diagnosis Comment- Urine shows benign-appearing urothelial and squamous epithelial cells and scattered erythrocytes.
Avatar n tn ve dealt with recurrent epididymitis, my doctor prescribed sulfameth to treat what appeared to be an infection, I had urine samples taken by multiple labs (4 since it first started) and all of which were first void and all came back negative, no white blood cells were found, however, in one test some erythrocytes were present. I am sexually active in a monogamous relationship and neither of us have had penetrative intercourse before.
Avatar m tn Subsequent monthly tests have revealed trace, small and now large units of blood in his urine. His thyroid test came back critically low and we made an appt with an endocrinologist. His primary doctor said to cancel this appt because the thyroid test was sub clinical (?). His erythrocyte dist width in his blood work is also low (11.7). He also has a high erythrocytes count in his urine of 32 as of 20 Feb. He is tired and nauseated most days and has lost 15 pounds in three months.
Avatar n tn Hi Mark, Your last urinalysis does not report any erythrocytes or leucocytes in urine. This indicates that there is no blood in urine, hence, it means no hematuria. As urine dipsticks can report erroneous results, it would be better to consider the report of the lab superior to the dipstick result. This is not to say that there was no hematuria in the past. It is possible that there is some amount of microscopic hematuria related to the simvastatin.

Avatar m tn 1. Urine test a few days after the symptoms started, the abnormal results from the test were the following: P.H. Level: 8.0 (normal is 5.0-6.0) Proteins: 15 mg/dl (normal is no proteins in urine) Note: cells isolated from the urethral epithelium, scarce mucous filament, leukocytes from 0 to 2 per field, very few coconut-like bacteria The doctor put me on Cephalexin for 7 days, and something to help with the pain.
Avatar m tn On day 21, cataract development was graded by slit-lamp examination and photography. Encapsulated lenses and erythrocytes were analyzed for reduced glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA), a marker of lipid peroxidation. The results showed that the control group’s lenses (group 1) were clear. In group 2, all rats developed cataracts (grade 3-grade 6), whereas in group 3, only 9 of 16 rats developed cataracts (grade 2-grade 3).
Avatar n tn He ran an HPV PCR swab, and did Urinary analysis once again everything was negative but found very high WBC in the 50s. He prescribed Suprax and I went back 2 days later for another test, this time WBC was in normal range but RBC was in the 10-15 range and asked to continue Suprax. Since I was traveling I decided to go back one more time day before I left and he took urine and this time a semen analysis and ran cultures on both.
Avatar m tn I told him that my first testing for Chlamydia came negative, but it was a blood test, not a urine test. He told me that blood tests for Chlamydia are only reliable when the infection happens to be very old (a year of more), but since the last sex encounter was two months ago, it could have been a false positive. And he did not test the urine sample for Chlamydia (IgM) because I didn't ask him. Should I go and get tested for that one, too, or the firt test (by blood) should be enough?
1806609 tn?1374545828 Certain systemic disorders like anemia, diabetes, vitamin deficiencies and thyroid disorders can cause these symptoms. So please consult your primary care physician who may ask for an EKG or a treadmill test to rule out a cardiac cause for the symptoms. He may even ask for blood tests and an X ray chest. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
