Hello Lass,First off is this just routine,or is their some reason of diversion like due you work as a nurse ,and if so,are they checking only you or are you on a Methadone program and all they want to know is there any hydrocodone in yopur system to bebin with,as same not so bright addicts say that they are on this and that and when they run a urine screen,nothing shows up,even the drug that they say is their drug of choice.
Also of note - not all urine drug screens test for the same thing - this is usually determined by the cost factor - The more sensitive and comprehensiv ethe test, the more expensive. Darvocet tests positive if they are testing for propoxyphene - not all tests do this. I think I read somewhere that it can potentially test positive for methadone - I would have to look that up again to be sure.
Water is helpful in a general sense but beware!
You need to request them to have 6-MAM and or gas chromatography–mass spectrometry test. If this is confusing, Im sorry. I drug test people every week where I work so I'm informed on all this stuff. False positives do happen so you need to be informed on what to do. You can always print this and show your MD. If one of the opiates you are on is Codeine, then you may have your culprit.

m on methadone and at the end of the visit my dr told me I had to do a urine test. So he wrote me my scripts and then on my way out I had to go pee in the cup, then I paid and left. So what I'm asking is if something was wrong with my test would they call me back that same day or even the next day to come in and discuss it or would he discuss it with me at my next visit?

There is a drug called Bentyl (Dicycloverine) prescribed for IBS that can potentially cause a false positive. There may be others too. It also depends on how good the lab is that is doing the testing. Sometimes there's sloppy work or cross-contamination, particularly in the 'collection' phase.

They do drug test expecting mothers. But there are things called cut off levels. So even if there is a small amount (which would be extremely small from second hand exposure) detected then it will still be negative. I suggest to try and stay away from second hand smoke simply because of the fact it is smoke.
My main question is there are some jobs that I would like to do or try instead of just being disabled and knowing the TV channels by heart... But I need to know if a drug test either urine or blood will test positive for the medication in the pump. As most people that have a disability know; many employers stay away from us "disabled".
I have been going to pain management for almost 3 years now I get drug tested monthly and have never had any issues with a failed test until this past month. I am prescribed 2 5mg Norco a day for chronic bilateral knee pain and back pain. I was a couple days from my appointment date and was out of meds. my girl friend had some left over meds from an oral surgery. She gave me a couple of her pain meds and mistakenly though they where the same as I was taking but they where Percocet instead.
How can I be sure that "Urine" is used for the test?... What if someone used "Apple juice"? Other then watching him "pee" into the test container, is there anyway I can tell?
They can tell the urine is either old or not yours if they test it with the right test. You may get past this okay - but it won't be with your urine. I doubt that med help would like it if I tried to tell you how to beat the test................
s like 70% of people taking urine tests have false negative results and once they fail a urine test a lot of pain management doctor will NOT keep them and it makes the patient scramble to find another pain doctor that will take them on. I'm worried about tree due to the fact that it is against the law to take anyone else's medication and I'm just not sure how long the medicine will stay in the system. It was really an unfortunate situation that he or she should not have done.
When I worked at a hospital as a patient care tech (nurses aide) we never told our adult patients that the doctor ordered a urine drug screen. We just always were instructed to say,"the doctor has ordered a more sensitive urine test to rule out anything extra going on on your system". We weren't lying, but never told the blatant truth. If they asked flat out what it looked for we were supposed to get the nurse to explain why we were drug testing them.

Could it be he was just trying to trick you to see if you were an Oxy user? I assume this was a urine test. So let me know if it was done right there and if not, ask for a copy of the results since he could now discharge you on grounds you broke any contract they often have you sign. The lowest level they used to be able to detect things like Vicodin (hydrocodone) without spending too much for better tests was 100 PPM. Good luck.
If I did a line a cocaine on Monday and took a military urine drug test on Sunday would i be ok? I have heard the drug itself stays in your system for 1-5 days but also that they dont test for the drug itself. I have heard they test for something called benzoylecgonine which can stay in a lot longer. Is this true and if so would that be out of my system by then? I am 23 yr old male, about 5'7'' 150lbs in pretty good shape.
So I see my doctor today and he says that my drug test showed only Soma in my urine and NO Vicodin. I told him I take the Vicodin every single day. He told me I was a liar and said he knows the truth and the truth was on that paper he was holding. He said I was probably selling them or I gave him someone else's urine (ewww!). I DID NOT!!! He was just mean. He said that paper would hold up in a court of law and it did not matter what I said. But I take my meds as he prescribes them!!
If this was as per prescribed, then you probably shouldn't be changing anything.
If this was a non prescribed medication then that's a slightly different situation. I am honestly not certain how long it will take to leave your system, but I wouldn't think longer then a few weeks. I do think though that it depends on how they drug test the baby. It's not always done through urine, it depends on why they are testing.
