Prostatitis is an inflammation or
infection in the prostate, and its actually quite common to see
white blood
cells in the
urine of a man with this condition.
Prostatitis, when diagnosed correctly, isn't a throw away term. This diagnosis shouldn't be made with a digital rectal exam. Having an elevated WBC count, by itself, is not a basis for a diagnosis of prostatitis, and I haven't ever said that.
There are also many causes of prostatitis, including stds, other bacteria, etc.
