Avatar f tn Why is it that every time I have loose bowels that white cells are found in my urine. This discussion is related to high white blood cells.
Avatar n tn It could be any number of things such as an increased production of white blood cells to fight an infection, a reaction to a drug that enhances white blood cell production, a disease of bone marrow, causing abnormally high production of white blood cells or an immune system disorder that increases white blood cell production. What did your doctor say?
Avatar f tn Hi there. Gosh, to be honest, I don't know how quickly the white blood cells will not be in your urine after infection. You were on antibiotics, which should knock out infection, right? You could also have inflammation of the urinary tract which would result in white blood cells in urine, but bacterial UTI is the most common cause. Some women have Sterile pyuria which is persistent white blood cells in urine without any bacterial infection at all.

Avatar f tn Today, after 2 weeks, I went to a clinic here in SF, and they took a sample of my urine, where they looked for white cells. He said that he that no white cells were present in my urine. So I was not treated for STDs, however my urine was sent to be tested for gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Today I also noticed, a little white discharge when going to urinate. This happend a few hours after they told me there were no white cells present in my urine.

Avatar f tn I have white blood cells in my urine. When the doctor did the urinalysis it came back as no infection. I had hsv1 and 2 test done at 4 weeks after an unprotected oral exposure. The test was negative. I am trying to figure out what is causing the white blood cells in my urine. Could it be herpes?
Avatar n tn White blood cells in men are usually NGU. If you didn't have red blood cells or bacteria found, then you probably didn't have a urinary tract infection. What antibiotics did you take? That can help determine what they were treating you for. If your follow up test was fine, then the infection has cleared.
Avatar m tn Welcome to our Forum. The presence of white blood cells (WBCs) and red blood cells (RBCs) in the urine can be due to many, many different causes. These causes can include STDs, urinary tract infection and other systemic infections. They can also be there from many things other than infection. In fact, a common cause of the presence of cells in the urine is vigorous exercise and many runners have this finding. If this is a concern, you doctor will do tests.
Avatar f tn Well kefle is a wide spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections and can be used to treat anything from a uti to heart valve infection. Make sure to take as directed, and take all of your prescription to kill off all the infection. Even if you feel better after a few continue to finish it all.
Avatar f tn Urine is a generally thought of as a sterile body fluid, therefore, evidence of white blood cells or bacteria in the urine is considered abnormal and may suggest a urinary tract infection such as, bladder infection (cystitis), infection of kidney (pyelonephritis). White blood cells may be detected in the urine through a microscopic examination (pyuria or leukocytes in the blood). They can be seen under high power field and the number of cells are recorded (quantitative).
Avatar f tn I recently thought that I had a UTI and read up on the possibility of Ghonoria and Clamydia, and immediately went to the doctor for testing. My urine showed no white blood cells and the doctor said it was unlikely that I had and STD. A couple days later my labs came back and I did in fact have Clamydia, so I got my medicine from the Pharmacy. The doctor that called me on the phone , a different doctor than I had seen told me when I asked , that It was unlikely that I had Herpes as well.

Avatar n tn Prostatitis is an inflammation or infection in the prostate, and its actually quite common to see white blood cells in the urine of a man with this condition. Prostatitis, when diagnosed correctly, isn't a throw away term. This diagnosis shouldn't be made with a digital rectal exam. Having an elevated WBC count, by itself, is not a basis for a diagnosis of prostatitis, and I haven't ever said that. There are also many causes of prostatitis, including stds, other bacteria, etc.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with urinary tract infection after i noticed blood came out of my penis after urinating. The urine test indicated that white blood cells was high in my urine so the doctor prescribed antibiotics for me to treat the uti. I took antibiotics for 1 week and had another urine test after and it came back indicating that the level of white blood cells has normalized.
5111430 tn?1377663221 So I went to the ER was there 5 hours was given 2 bags of fluid Zofran and Tylenol. They finally get my blood work and urine back and tell me there is white blood cells in my urine. The Dr said he thinks it's a urinary tract infection, so he wrote me a antibiotic. But I have no uti symptoms at all. I was severally dehydrated and my pee was dark because I haven't been able to keep anything down since Monday afternoon. does anyone know what white blood cells in urine could mean?
Avatar m tn i then went and had a urine test for infection which came back negative, told the rash was just a sweat one. however, the doctor told me there was a blood and white cells in my urine, but it was still clear. little confusing.
Avatar f tn I went and got retested, this time the doctor looked at my urine under a microscope and said he saw a few white blood cells that could be caused by microplasm genetalium, which you aren't tested for. He then gave me a gram of azythromyacin and said he would still send my urine out to be tested. I didn't receive a call back about a positive test and I didn't notice any relief from the medicine. Again, 2 months passed and I went back.
Avatar n tn There was an abnormality detected - there were white blood cells and proteins present in the urine apparently. I had another urine test today, waiting for results. Can HIV cause white blood cells and proteins to be present in urine? I'd appreciate a response thank you.
Avatar f tn We all may have a few white cells in our urine normally. It depends upon the laboratory, but most consider up to 10-12 wbc per high power field to be normal. A urine that is not midstream (one that has been delivered to the urine cup without touching the sides of the vagina, after first voiding some into the toilette) is more likely to contain white blood cells (and even red blood cells and bacteria) and yet be normal.
1666287 tn?1303207897 Hello, Presence of pus cells in urine sample indicates infection of the urinary tract. Women who are sexually active, who use diaphragms for birth control, and/or are past menopause are at an increased risk for urinary tract infections. Making a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection includes performing a urinalysis test, which checks for the presence of pus, white blood cells, and bacteria in the urine, which point to a urinary tract infection.
Avatar f tn Making a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection includes performing a urinalysis test, which checks for the presence of pus, white blood cells, and bacteria in the urine, which point to a urinary tract infection. A urine culture and sensitivity is usually performed to find the exact microorganism. Till then you should drink plenty of water. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
