Said I was dehydrated anyway. ER ran labs and CT scan and said it was gastroenteritis. I also had a catheter and bladder infection while in hospital for stent and told ER doc that I still felt a little irritation but no discharge. He said my urine was clear and the irritation could be yeast since I was on a high amount of antibiotics. He did a pelvic and said it looked fine. After being on anti-nausea drip and fluids, I was released from ER.
I have had annual STI screenings for the last three years - and all tests have come up clear - until two weeks ago, when a (urine) test for Chlamydia came up positive. All other tests negative (Syph, Gon, Hep ABC, HIV, HSV1+2). I have had only one regular female partner in all this time (who has made no complaint of vaginal discomfort), though i have also received perhaps half a dozen hand jobs at a massage parlor over the last twelve months.
His opinion is that a very large percentage of the population has this infection and it makes up the normal flora in most men and women even stating that in all likelihood he probably had it (I thought that was humorous). Anyway, he showed me an article from Johns Hopkins urology that encouraged no treatment for ureaplasma. He’s done numerous tests - both blood and urine and everything always comes back negative.
About two weeks I went to urologist as I had both burning urine and ejaculation and felt perhaps I had prostatitis (as I had this in the past) or an STI. He subsequently ran a urine PCR tests, and everything came out negative for all STI’s except for HSV2 which came out positive. He did not run an HSV IGG or even IGM blood tests. What confused me more when I met him to discuss the results, he mentioned that I might have been exposed but not infected with the virus, which made no sense.
The samples have been tested for bacteria/infection resulting in no infection found. An ultrasound of my kidneys (gall bladder, liver, pancreas, spleen and aorta) along with a urine cytology was negative as well. I do have constant lower back pain and just a general unwell feeling with no other symptoms. I am waiting on an appointment for an ultrasound of my bladder in two weeks.
Could you please provide some insight as to what this might be.

By what you write, there seems to be some other underlying medical issues. Confusion and forgetting things can happen when an older person has a urinary tract infection. My mother went completely "loopy" and it turned out to be a urine infection and pneumonia.
You mother is falling over - this can be due to balance problems either from infections in the inner ears or spinal issues.
Blood in urine or hematuria with burning pain while urinating, is usually a sign of infection. Infection can be in the kidney, bladder, ureters and urethra. Presence of blood and high protein in urine is an indication of renal impairment.
I would suggest that you get a serum creatinine level and a check of 24 hour urine protein level to determine the exact level of protein and there by the level of damage to the kidney due to recurrent infections.
Furthermore, symptoms of cystitis or bladder infection include cloudy or bloody urine; low fever; pain or burning with urination; pressure or cramping in the lower abdomen; and strong need to urinate often. Often in an elderly person, mental changes or confusion are the only signs of a possible urinary tract infection. Check with your doctor for proper management. Warm regards.

i'm suffering from urine problem since 02 months.... when i passed urine it's color is pale and bad smelling also. and i had back ache also. i have done urine culture and ufr also. dr diagnosed it's a urine infection and given some medicine also. i took it for 2 weeks. but the problem is still there...
Im from uk. But surely the outcome would be the same i should have been given something. Last time i had a water infection it went onto my kidneys and caused me to bleed at 27 weeks. Im now 35 weeks so dont want that to happen again.
My PAP tests have been normal in the past. I contracted this HPV infection from my husband who contracted it from his girl friend. I know that when I tell him about the PAP result he will automatically blame me. He has been filled w/ rage and hatred for me for reasons unknown to me. Since the immune system usually kills the virus and when his girl friend gets her PAP or has gotten her PAP and the PAP has been or may be normal, how do I clear my name??
