Urinary tract infection z pack

Common Questions and Answers about Urinary tract infection z pack

infection

Avatar f tn Will the Z-pak/ steroids help with any infection I might have- if it is UTI or kidney infection? Could I have gotten a UTI because I waited so long to go to the doctor with my chest/sinus infection? I guess I will be calling my doctor when he gets in on Monday, but I would appreciate any help that might alleviate my high stress level over this! Thank you!
Avatar n tn The infection can move up to your kidneys quite quickly. Urinary tract infection is not serious in females, but in males it is.
Avatar n tn Grace, When you say the Z-Pack "adds to fungal over growth," are you suggesting that it would make the problem worse, or that the fact that the Z-Pack was prescribed indicates a fungal infection rather than a bacterial growth? I'm on my third day of the 5-day Z-Pack and today there's been no burning at all and minimal discomfort (I've been too busy at work to notice any, really).
4801019 tn?1359345412 Well, first of al my name is Chris & I'm a healthy 29 yr old male & my height is 6"8 & I weigh about 245lbs, no diabetes, no high blood pressure, only have Asthma & Migraines from time to time. This all started like a little over 11 months ago with me being diagnosed with a Bladder Infection. My doctor put me on antibiotics ranging from Bactrim, Cipro, Z-Pack & another one that I cannot remember.
Avatar m tn A bladder infection and urinary tract infection (UTI) are the same thing. Given the nature of your exposure and the treatment you received, it is not possible your partner's possible UTI is really an STD from the exposure you describe. She probably just has a UTI, as her doctors suspect. 1) For th reasons above, I believe your symptoms are only genitally focused anxiety, and your partner's are due to a UTI (even if a UTI didn't show up on urine testing).
Avatar f tn Has anyone got a urinary tract infection during pregnancy? Was it uncomfortable and a little painful at times? once treated did the uncomfortablness go away? I think I have one I have a drs appt in 4 days is it safe to wait until then?
4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).
Avatar f tn Im 90% sure that I have a urinary tract infection but I have additional symptoms that I dont usually have. My partner and I had sex several nights ago and I developed the usual symptoms: painful urination general discomfort frequent urination urine is cloudy and pink What is unusual is that I have clumps of something when I pee. They are pinkish is this a possible symptom that will pass just like the others?
Avatar f tn I’m 20 years old. I have a urinary tract infection(coliform). A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar m tn Sounds like you caught a couple of different things all around the same time. You had a cold/upper respiratory infection and you've had something going on in the urinary tract. I really don't think that they are related though you can get viral urinary infections which of course will just have to run its course. At this point, return to the doctor this coming week. You need additional urine testing done as well as a prostate exam.
Avatar f tn How do you tell the difference between a urinary tract infection and yeast infectiy?
4801019 tn?1359345412 Epididymitis are caused by sexually transmitted diseases, spread of infection from urinary tract infections or prostate infections, Chlamydia or retrograde (backward) flow of urine when exercising or having sex with a full bladder. You need a physical examination from an urologist along with urine analysis, complete blood count, testicular ultrasound and scan and tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Treatment will depend on the cause. Till then take the medicines prescribed by your doctor.
Avatar m tn Possibilities include non-STD urinary tract infection (rare), prostate problems, and anxiety, which can magnify otherwise trivial or even normal body sensations that would not otherwise be noticed or a cause for worry. If it persists, get professionally evaluated. I still would have recommended against both azithromycin treatments, but that's water under the bridge so no point in worrying about it now. Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad to have helped.
Avatar n tn I know that I dont have a urinary tract infection. Please help me! I will not go to a clinic. Where I live is very remote and the nurses have been know to talk, I have heard them.
1901977 tn?1333991726 I was trying to tough it out but my upper respiratory infection has moved down into my chest and with my asthma, the doctor is really worried about it turning into pneumonia and just put me on the "Z-Pack" (Azithromycin)antibiotics. I'm in my 12th week right now, and really worried about taking them. But the doctor says if my breathing goes bad or I get pneumonia that's much worse for the baby...so I just took my first dose tonight.
Avatar f tn I went to the hospital and they prescribed me the z-pack, as soon as i drunk the first 2 pills i felt better...
Avatar n tn After confirming the diagnosis of a urinary tract infection through urine tests, antibiotic treatment may be started. A urine culture and sensitivity test will determine the specific organism responsible as well as the antibiotic treatment. Drinking plenty of fluids also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn A urinalysis and urine culture may also help rule out a urinary tract infection. A primary differential for your case may be balanitis. This is a general term used for a skin condition involving the head of the penis.
Avatar n tn Cause may include diabetes, prostrate enlargement, urinary tract infection, obstructive sleep apnea, stones in the urinary tract, bladder cancer and neurological disorders. I think it could be Obstructive sleep apnea or an emotional disorder which could be causing symptoms in your husband. Rarely, acute anxiety or other emotional disorders may be the cause of adult bed-wetting.
Avatar n tn A nurse practitioner at urgent care diagnosed that as a sinus infection, and gave me a z-pack of antibiotics, saying it would clear up everything (she did not tests to diagnose this). I was fine, then intermittently would have pain urinating (once or twice a week). All this time there was no discharge. A later visit (three weeks later) to PCP involved CBC and urinalysis: all results normal. I also began to notice red spots on my penis.
Avatar f tn The routine Urine test showed Urinary Tract Infection with Leukocytes count ranging from 15-20. My doctor prescibed me some antibiotic and I was fine within a weeks time (this time the Leukocytes count ranging from 3-5) . Is this due to HIV? Z I have been living under immense pressure for the past few days.
